Windows 7 Acer Aspire Laptop Stuck In Hibernation Mode
Jul 2, 2012
This is an acer aspire laptop that is stuck in hibernation/sleep mode. It has windows 7, the power light blinks, no response whatsoever to windows key or any other keys including ctrl alt del. I have checked without memory and hard drive and have the same results. It will power off but will not get out of hibernation mode while it is turned on.
Whenever I put the computer onto sleep mode and leave it for a bit, I come back and wake it from sleep (by pressing the mouse) and then fans turn on but then it turns off? I tried going into bios but cant find the power management settings. My laptop is a acer aspire 4740G, Windows 7 Home Premium
I have an ACER One (Model A0531h) netbook. I have now tried several times to recovery it to factory settings using the built in recovery partition. I access this recovery partition by using Alt-f10 during boot. The recovery runs fine up until 99% where it 'sticks'.. for days..The application running the recovery is Acer eRecovery Manager v7.5.15. I have also recovering using the recovery DVD's which I burned. They seem to go through the process but then when I restart the system I get a black screen complaining about missing files. I am then instructed to run recovery...This is driving me crazy. I have also reseated the RAM but dont want to have to strip of the cover to reseat hard drive. I can however hear it running and I have also used Active@boot to reformat the C drive. The recovery partition has not been touched and is not damaged. It runs perfectly up to 99%.
So one evening my laptop randomly restarted itself and upon logging back in I found that I could not run almost any of my programs (.exe files). I tried checking for anything unusual in the registry but found nothing. In task manager when I clicked a program or attempted to run it in various ways I would see it pop up for a second before it got killed.
Finding no way of fixing it online I decided I would attempt the factory restore option that comes with the laptop in the system recovery that places all your documents in a C:Backup file. But nearing the end of this an error came up saying 'setup is starting services', which says to restart the computer to continue. But I can no longer get it past this screen. I've tried rebooting it in safe mode as well.
this morning I woke up to find my laptop was active and I was worried it might overheat now the past few days it has been doing and I did some research, and I am wondering should I make it so that tasks can't wake the machine up?
Acer Aspire ZR7 model stuck on "Setup is starting services", never progresses.I can't locate o/s discs et.al.It will not open in safe mode using F8.I've also attempted Lft ALT + F10, no good And, F12 at Windows screen. No good.
I have an acer aspire laptop. Last night firefox stopped responding and from that message the whole thing, completely froze. Tried safe mode networking and it worked, but normal mode would not work at all. Tried a few hours later and restarted it then froze again once restarted in normal mode and hasn't worked since... yet safe mode works fine. Can anybody help? Please! The only way I could shut it down was to take the battery out. I turned it on, entered my password and when it loaded froze immediatley. I tried again, again the only way of shutting down was to take the battery out, and when turned on I was greeted by a black screen and nothing else. [code]
I started to do a full system recovery on my son's Acer Aspire 5750z, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit using the (4) Recovery DVD's we made when we bought it. Everything was working fine through the first three discs. I was called away while the third disc was in use (maybe 10 minutes) and when I got back to the machine, the window was up asking me to remove disc 3 and insert disc 4. I did, and in the 4 hours and 15 minutes since then, nothing has happened. The Acer eRecovery Management (v8.3.2) Window is up. Step 5 "Restore Progres" is highlighted. The elapsed time counter is continuing to run (currently at 5 hours 8 minutes and counting), the "Restoring System" bar is full and shows 100%, and the "Updating System" bar is stuck at 2%, which is where it was when I put in the 4th disc. I am tempted to shut down the laptop and start all over again, but I am afraid that it will mess something up if I do..
We have repeatedly tried to access Bluetooh on the above laptop but there is a problem. We cannot find the exact nature of the difficulty. All we want is to connect a mobile phone to the laptop using Bluetooth.
I created a partition and installed XP on it and the game installs correctly (installation wouldn't even start on Win7) and it runs. However, the drivers I got when I bought the laptop are only compatible with Win7 (video drivers, wifi/lan drivers, the audio driver works fine on XP however).Because of this driver problem, I have no graphics driver to run the game (I know it works because I can start the game and hear the audio). I also couldn't connect to the internet to find and update drivers on that specific machine.
So I searched for them on another computer but after hours of searching, downloading and transferring the files to my Acer, failed to find any compatible with XP.The Acer website which I downloaded these drivers from mentions they work on XP in the description but they wouldn't install, giving the error 'not support on this operating system' or similar.FYI the hardware for the drivers I needed were: - Lite-on Wireless LAN 3rd WiFi BGN Atheros HB97 (OR Broadcom LAN BCM57780 for ethernet connection)- Intel VGA Chip UMAHas
my laptop acer aspire doesnt recognize my external hard drive in windows7. I will be great ful to them. it doesn't show any external hard drive but it shows pen drive and mobile usb cable but not external hard disk

I cant seem to find any drivers for my webcam and card reader, any suggestions?
Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place, but any pointers would be hugely appreciated! I'm running an ACER Aspire 5920G laptop, which comes with Vista 32-bit installed. I'd really like to give the Windows 7 RC candidate a try, but don't want to screw anything up!
I'm going to add a new partition so I can dual-boot the existing OS with the new one, but my major concerns come from ensuring the hardware works acceptably. The graphics chipset in the 5920G is a Radeon 3470 HD Mobility, and I keep it up to date under Vista using the Mobility Modifier software. Will the same modified drivers work fine with Windows 7 RC? (I'm hoping that there might be someone on this board who's been in a similar position).
Also (and this isn't quite on the topic of drivers), the laptop has 4gb of RAM installed - is it worth using a 64-bit version of Windows 7 RC, or does that complicate matters unnecessarily?
I bought an Acer Aspire 5530 (os-w7) from online. All were working great during the initial set up. But when i turned it off and then turned it on on the next day i received this message saying start up repair (recommended) and the other one is start windows normally.
So what i did was i chose start up repair and it took so long before windows showed up. The windows just showed up, nothing happened, it freeze. I tried it many times but same result. Can you tell me what is the problem of my laptop?
my grandson changed my password to my acer aspire laptop winows 7 home premium laptop. how can i get into my laptop? the hint is wife but i have tried every word that relates to wife. please help me get back into my laptop.
Firstly my laptop (which is a Dell Inspiron N5030 running Windows 7 64 bit) starting showing up with a black screen when it was trying to come out of hibernation, it gave the status as 0xc0000242 and saying there was a fatal error with the hiberfil.sys and that it would have to restart. This continued for a while with the laptop closing all the applications that I had open when I hibernated, sometimes it would come out of hibernation without any problems at all. Then my laptop started to become very slow and particularly when loading up windows after being shutdown, restarted or hibernated. It was staying on the "starting windows" screen for about 5 minutes before actually starting up. I did a system restore on the laptop but no luck. I did a CHKDSK error check on the laptop but had no luck. I did a start up recovery but once again no luck.
Yesterday I decided to back up all my data onto an external harddrive and reinstall windows 7 completely as I have had the laptop over a year now and it was getting pretty full of junk anyway. I thought the problem had go away but it has had all of the above problems today no aswell, it is CHKDSK checking at the moment and has found several unreadable segments.
I am having an insane amount of trouble with my Acer Aspire laptop that was working correctly until all the sudden the wireless went out stating that there is 'no networking hardware'I'm not sure what could cause this but two new things happened the night it went out.1. I bought a wireless signal for my desktop (I read somewhere in the Windows help files that the signal could knock out others I think it's silly but who knows)2. I bought a new mouse, tried to install it only to find that numerous people could not find the hardware for it. It went from lit up with no hardware found, nonfunctional. To not lit up but the computer still tried to install the software, no good. I feel like this problem is mainly associated with a cheap mouse because I wasn't the only one who could not install it.Those are the only two new things to happen to this laptop in the 24 hour period it went from functioning to no wireless hardware what so ever. My router is 2 feet away. I have tried removing the battery and disconnecting it from the wall, have tried turning off the signal, then on again. I have also restored my computer twice, back to a time earlier in the day when it didn't do the most recent windows update. And nothing. I don't want to say the internal hardware somehow fried but something went wrong somewhere. What is some steps I can do to try to test or fix this problem? Because Windows 7 help doesn't even acknowledge that this could happen at all nor does it say there is anything wrong with any of the devices on the laptop. Some information about the laptop:Windows 7, Service Pack 1Acer Aspire 7551AMD Phenom II N970 Quad-Core processor 2.20Ghz4G of useable RAM64 bit OSWireless Adapter: Atheros AR5B97Please note that I have also tired to hardwire this computer to my router and it would still not register that it has an internet connection nor would windows detect there was any problem with this at all.EDIT:I downloaded the drivers from the Atheros website and put them on a USB drive from my desktop. Upon putting in the drive to the laptop I found NONE of the USB drives are working. What now?
I've only had the Acer Aspire One D250 laptop for less than a year, and the battery already started to fail. For some reason, it never charges up to 100% and after leaving it charging, the white light starts blinking Akku Acer Aspire One D250,Adapter Acer Aspire One D250
MY daughter was having problems with it simply turning off. After looking at and running Real Temp and Prime 95, I believed it was simple over heating .It is under warranty so I took it in for repair, I just picked it up and they said the fan and vents needed cleaning, that is why it is getting hot and shutting down. Now I re-ran Prime 95 and it still shut down after 1 hour roughly. Real Temp said it was 89 Degrees C.
So is this normal for laptops??? I costume build my PC and it never shuts down on running Prime 95. Even I did overclocked it.
