Send Mce Remote Command On Startup

I have this MCE remote contol: CIT Media Remote Control 10 Metre Range Plug-and-Play.It works fine in conjunction with XBMC, with one slight problem.It acts as a replacement for the mouse by default, i.e. the direction keys control the cursor rather than submit key inputs.However, there is a 'toggle' button that then makes the inputs map to keyboard inputs, i.e. the direction keys then mirror the cursor keys.This 'toggle' mode is how I'd like the remote to work by default, rather than having to toggle into it.Is there a way to submit a remote keypress without actually doing it from the remote itself?
