View 4 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to open a Microsoft Word file or Excel file, a popup comes up displaying the "There was a problem sending the command to the program." message. Here is a list of things I've tried so far:
1. Deleted the "Data" registry key from the correct registry path.
2. Ran the "winword.exe /r" command from command prompt
3. Repaired Microsoft Office using the installation CD.
4. Ran the Microsoft Diagnostics (which didn't find any issues).
5. Reassociated the extensions in Control Panel > Default Programs.
6. Ensured that the "Run as administrator" checkbox isn't ticked in winword.exe's properties.
Sometimes when I try to click on a link, or if I save a link to my desktop, I get an error code when I try to access it that says "there was a problem sending the command to the program". The problem started after I suffered a system failure when installing Norton Internet security.

Most of my Windows Live Mail contains embedded links. When I click on those links, I expect the URL there to be transferred to Firefox. Instead, I get a cryptic message from Windows Live Mail, "There was a problem sending the command to the program." Is there some simple trick that fixes this?

My system is complete unacessible. I was trying to recover one harddrive using a case and usb when i found a tutorial saying i should open prompt DOS and type commands: diskpart and rescan but of course im not able to find that tutorial again it's sticky with my windows 7, i'm using dual boot windows xp x64 here now, and the windows 7 crashed after that rescan command, i tried the recovery options and chkdsk it did not fix the problem, i'm thinking as last option to create a triple boot shrink the windows 7 to install another and copy all to there 0x0000007B 0xfffff880009a97e8

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn UNIX, for changing the directory path, there is "cd" command. .This works fine in windows 7 too.. But the problem comes when we are trying to change the path using environment variables. .
In UNIX, cd $JAVA_HOME changes the path to the value set for JAVA_HOME,
Similarly is there any command in Windows which does the trick from command prompt for changing path using Environment variables. .

View 1 Replies View RelatedAlright, well I only saw this once before, but now it seems like every time I try to run a vintage 32-bit program it comes up.
Whether it's Cool Edit Pro, Halo (the Microsoft game), whatever. anything that uses the video card - this comes up.
In this case it's Windows Live Messenger 8.1, running in Windows 2000 compatibility, so that Microsoft lets me sign on without upgrading to their new crap they call a messenger. (That's not the point, though, if even one person tells me that the problem is that I didn't upgrade WLM I'm gonna ignore them... It works PERFECTLY on ALL the computers I've done it on, so that's NOT the issue!!)
Anyway, does anybody know what that error means and how to fix it? Google tells me that it's a DirectX9 DLL problem (Which is way outdated, right? Since DX11 is the one that comes with it)... I tried all the suggestions, from installing DX9 (which of course didn't work since it "detected" a newer version), to replacing the DLL with a fresh one.
I might try installing Windows 7 x64 in VMWare, then copy the DLL from *THAT*, but still... what's the problem? It worked fine and that error is just now coming up. I scanned for viruses last night with Malwarebytes, and it's clean.
how can i fix this problem? Program not associated error?

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy Dell Dimension 9200 stopped sending anything to the monitor. I installed Windows 7 successfully after giving up on XP. The PC has bees stable with a newer Video Card upgrade and much more memory installed. The PC came without a Floppy Drive and when I start the PC, I have to press F1 to proceed to Windows. It was very annoying so I asked a friend and told me to disable it in BIOS and I did. Immediately after I did that, the PC stopped sending anything to the monitor. I tried two other monitor to no avail. I also tried an older PCI express Video Card and a newer one and got no reception still even though all the light indicators tells me that the PC is on. The drives are on plus the start up sound I hear when I turn it on.

View 9 Replies View RelatedThere are a half dozen threads from the past several years addressing the same issue - none have a solution or explain what the cause is. This is the exact text of the error:
MS Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:windowssystem32
vvsvc.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. In safe mode the startup stops at ATiPcie.sys; search found similar black screen with mouse complaints The machine setup has worked fine for several months, and shutdown without any events last evening. This morning at startup the popup with a black screen appeared. I have tried all of the suggestions posted on the treads.Events: Attempted to install autocad2012sp1x64.exe but it did not install due to the version installed is Civil 3D 2012 not ACAD2012. Installed PublishDWGtoGE.zip without issues - a new icon appeared in my ACAD GUI but have not tried it yet Changed my clear temporary files at startup script from shutdown to startup, restarted several times and seemed to work fine Cleared several GB of temp files that ACAD C3D accumulates - this has been done several times without problems This machine is used as a CAD workstation and is not used for games, entertainment, social networking (besides help forum threads), or other common uses that attract viruses. The only web browsing is to read the news and email. Note that this machine has a PCI-E solid state harddrive in Raid 0 - occasionally it triggers a disk check at startup due what has been assumed a driver issue that results in a poor shutdown, it has not been anything more than annoying - one of the other threads had a similar SSD raid 0 setup. I removed the startup script and ran a checkdisk in case they were conflicting. I have access to the drive through a backup drive running the same OS; the specifics of the machine setup are documented here on a wiki page cee241:software:settings:tower [CIFE Wiki]
I was having issues with Photoshop 7 and attempting to reinstall it gives the error: "Setup requires a different version of windows. Check to make sure that you are running Setup on the Windows platform for which it is intended. Error 102"
I find nothing relevant in the Adobe forums, and perceive this as a Windows error.
I have reinstalled this once or twice before with no issues. We are running Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit which has been working on this as well as on previous OSs. The machine is up-to-date without viruses and I have run SFC/scannow, and a registry cleaner; issue persists. System Restore is not an option.
