i was trying to uninstall nokia pc suite but the process dd not finish and now everytime am trying to install the pc suite again am receiving this error 'another program is being installed. Please wait until that installation is complete, and then try installing this software again.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI gave a try to the Setup Project of VStudio 2008 to create and distribute an x86 installer of a program I develop in Windows 7. After installing, uninstalling and executing over and over some of the features of my release distribution, I suppose I broke a windows registry or something related. I can't run anymore this app, whether from executing from the shortcut or directly, it just sends an error "Couldn't start the application correctly (0xe06d7363). Accept to close", there is no other option. Later I found out that moving exactly the installed content somewhere else out side the Program Files x86 dir, the application works flawlessly. Browsing, finding and deleting all references in regedit for my program didn't fix anything. I double checked my project is fine, and also created another installer version using the tool Inno setup producing exactly the same behavior; good install, error message when executing it inside the Program Files folder. Am clueless what else to do with the OS to fix this. Using CCleaner and/or my anti virus don't show any broken reference to my program, it seems clean. Can anyone help me?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Windows program that is installed in the default C:Program Files (x86) folder, and of course it cannot write some of the data it needs to write to that folder. I assume that is because of the Windows 7 permissions. Is there a simple way to allow this particular program to write to its install folder despite permission restrictions? I already moved its data folder to my data partition but this is for some files that I do not have the option to move to another folder.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHalf a year ago my laptop's hard disk's clusters began to fail, so I finally had to change it with a Western Digital Scorpio Black 750 GB - 7200rpm (WD7500BPKT).
When reinstalling Windows 7 Home Premium x64, I decided to dedicate the C:\ unit to the OS "only", and E:\ to programs and files of all sorts.
I've then installed all of my programs by sending them to their respective folders, E:\Program Files and E:\Program Files (x86) . But I'm now noticing all of them are running in x32 mode! The only programs running in x64 are those forcedly installed into the C:\Program Files folder (which my Italian OS calls C:\Programmi, although program installers install into C:\Program Files).
Is it that Windows isn't recognizing any Program Files folders but the default ones in C:\?
I've got Virtual PC/Windows XP installed and working, but when I install a program in Windows XP mode and create a shortcut in the "All Users" folder I don't see it in the Windows 7 start menu, as a matter of fact I don't even have the "Virtual Windows XP Applications" folder in the Win 7 start menu.

The program works on every machine it's been installed on, except for one (customer's) Win 7 64-bit machine. On that machine, nothing happens.
It's noteworthy that on that same machine an "insufficient access privileges" (or some such) message pops-up when an administrator trys to copy a folder to "C:Program Files (x86)CompanyNameNewName".
why this particular Windows 7 machine is being so picky? What should I have the installer do so that the application will be able to copy/rename its own files?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy installs of Windows 7 was working fine and all of a sudden it wont boot anymore. Yesterday I put in a required Java Program update install and I think Windows just added a couple of critical updates as well. I have tried booting in every way possible, rolling back, safe mode, etc, and nothing works.
I keep getting the screen telling me there is a problem and must do a system repair. Then the repairs and all it wants to do is shut down. I managed to pull up some error reports and it seems two files are corrupt which are TCPIP.SYS and one called FWPKCLNT.SYS.
TCPIP.SYS is located in C:/WIndows/System32/Drivers
FWPKCLNT.SYS seems to be in drive F:/ which is not an actual drive. It must be a temporary boot drive created by Windows 7.
I have an older XP on another partition on the same hard drive so I booted in XP to see if I could possibly delete the reported corrupt TCPIP.SYS file and replace it from another Windows 7 install from my laptop just to see if that might work. But it wont let me delete the TCPIP.SYS file. It says it is in use, but I can't understand that since I am trying to delete it from the Windows 7 partition while I am booted up from the XP boot partition.
I want my system to automatically create a restore point before installing any program/software in it? How can set this up on my windows 7 64 bit laptop?

I have removed Windows Mail. Also having problem in creating a personal folder. I receive two messages,
1. Outlook can not open the folder that has the files for opening, sending or receiving email.
2. Outlook can not find the personal folder to send information to.
I got an 8 gb Crucial ram card and when I put it in my 2011 Acer Aspire and started it there was a blue window saying that there was a driver problem, how can I fix this?

It would not install because of a Java error. This is also the problem preventing with her logging onto her bank account.So I updated her Java to version 7 and confirmed it on Java's site.Still no joy. Mcafee will not install for the same reason and by the way, she is updated to SP1 on Win 7.I'll put a log from TSG SysInfo up a bit later.
View 14 Replies View RelatedMy HP Pavilion DV7 4267CL's hard drive went out last week. I bought a new one, the same brand name and specifications. I installed the drive, turned it on, inserted the first disc, restarted it and follow the prompts. I selected to reset factory default and continue to follow the on screen prompts. After installing all four discs, it restarted by itself and gave me an HP logo. It ask me to restart to complete installation. When it restarted again, it gave me a bootmgr is missing press ctrl+alt+delete to restart. I pressed it and it gave me the same error again. I did all the reinstallation 3x but no luck. I was getting the same error. So, I went to the bio boot utility by restarting the pc and preesing F10 while booting. I rearrange the booting sequence, dvd/cd rom drive, internal computer hard drive restarted it, inserted the first disc, turned off pc and reinstalled it and all 3 other discs. But at the end, I'm still getting the same error.

The machine has two HDD, 250GB (with dual boot of Vista 64 Home and XP 32 Home),
and 500 GB previously accessed from these two OSes, but now with all files removed.
When I start the W7 64bit install to the 500GB drive I get the message
" Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."
I have an ASUS mobo with Phoenix BIOS.
As the disk was previously working and the BIOS does not seem to have a controller option I'm note sure where to go next.
