Time Zone And Region Is Wrong And Won't Change?
Mar 24, 2011I just did a fresh install of Win7 Pro 64bit and it won't allow me to change my time zone or region.It has the time zone set to International Date Line West and the Region is set to Africa.When I try to change it it just rolls back. I tried installing Win7 Ult x64 and the same thing happened.This is really getting frustrating and I can't seem to find anyr it.I checked my BIOS and the date and time are correct for where I am, ESTWhen I try to install a program like Avast where you choose the language it automatically selects some other language like an Arabic or something that doesn't even use English letters.

Nov 27, 2012Once in a while I find that the time zone moves from GMT to Pacific Time.Has anyone any idea what would cause this, new CMOS battery fitted, which ever time zone shows the time is correct for that zone. Checked the BIOS and that also changes.I dual boot two Win 7 installations.

Jul 29, 2010i'm having a problem with the Time Zone selection, i'm running Windows 7 professional x64 and I want to change my time zone but it only lists two, which does not include the one i want... i right click on the clock (on right-down corner) , then adjust date/time, and i click on Change time zone button. then it brings me a drop down list which i can select, it only includes two time zones; UTC +2 and UTC +4. what i want is UTC/GMT +1 (Sweden time). how can i add an additional time zone to the drop down list so i can select it?

Jul 15, 2011Have a Windows 7 64bit Compaq laptop. Tried to change time and set the time zone, but nothing works. Changed to the correct time in bios, but still cannot get a time zone "installed" It says your current time zone is not regognized. Please select a valid time zone, but the change time zone button does nothing. Tried to set additional clocks but NO time zones are listed in the drop menu. Also can't change date and time option the "ok" button is grayed out. Any help would be fantastic.

I have only used Windows 7 sysprep a few times and have been working on getting a new answer file working on it.I have also everything working the way I want to. The only screen I want the user to be prompted for is the computer name screen. Right now it asks for the computer name like it should but also comes up with the time and timezone screen with the correct info so I have to click next.I have made sure to put in the correct time zone info and everything but it keeps coming up with the time zone page.

Jun 1, 2011I'm running windows 7 ultimate and have had no problems until a few days ago when the os stopped me installing software. The error message is 'These files can't be opened' 'Your internet security settings prevented one or more files from being opened'. I've restored the computer to a previous date without success. I've run a virus scan which found 2 Trojans and a malicious software. These have been removed. The main problem - apart from not being able to install any programs is that I cannot change the internet properties as some items appear barred. I really don't want to format the hard drive and start again.

Jul 7, 2011Main computer is the office computer. Its a desktop that a person is constantly on and doing stuff. There are 3 others that need the same information and documents at any given time. These 3 people have their laptops that are constantly switching wifi hotspots. They need to change information sometimes, and need access to all of it any time. The way its setup now is 1 person is on the main computer, but when one of the three need to access it, they remotely log in and take control. Only one person can access the computer at a time. How do I set it up so all four of these people can access and change the files at the same time if they want? The main computer is being used constantly, but someone always needs a document or file while the main person is working on it. So it slows production when someone logs in.

Jan 11, 2011I was stupid enough to manually delete my acronis files when I couldn't uninstall it the ordinary way.
Now windows 7 gives a short BSOD after logo and computer restarts. Startup repair doesn't fix the problem, neither from my windows 7 usb or from laptop, I have tried it several times.
I don't have any system restore created. I don't have any system image either to restore to either.
I really don't want to do a clean install again and wanted to try to do a repair upgrade, the problem is I can't boot into windows to begin with, and this seems to be needed to do a repair upgrade. When I try to do it from the USB it says I need to boot into windows first.
Is there a way to start the repair upgrade without having to boot into windows?
When I press F8 I don't get the options of safe mode, probably because I set the "time to display list of os to 0". Since I can't boot into windows 7 I can't change this above 0. Is there a a way to set this time above 0 from command prompt from my windows 7 installation usb?

Apr 26, 2011About a month after I started using it, the Say the Time clock program I bought stopped launching the management menu when I right click the date/time field in the task tray (notification area).
Therefore, I can't use or edit the program. Neither the touchpad nor the cordless mouse works.
Other than this problem, my computer works great. Every single item that's meant to be right clicked works for me.
Is there a way I can generate a log to show the software manufacturer (Provenio) that it's their problem and not mine? I am a novice user but I can follow instructions. However, I don't want to put my computer at risk if I make an entry error.
I've been using computers for 18 years and I've never had this problem until I bought this software and used it for about a month.
I just wanted a conclusive way of putting the ball back in the manufacturer's court.
System Time Not Kept Correctly After Having Manually Changed BIOS Time
Apr 23, 2012I spilt some water on my laptop a few days ago but fortunately it's completely dried out and working perfectly.... apart from this minor (but important) issue.
Problem: the system time does not stay correct. Even after manually updating the BIOS time and also even after manually syncing it with the various servers available under the time options.
Fix: set the internet time sync interval to every minute rather than its default setting? How do I do this?
P.S. This couldn't be a CMOS battery issue surely because even when the system is on and plugged in the system time still deviates from correct. (I assume the CMOS battery is only used when the system is powered off.) If I need it replaced, how does that sit with my Dell hardware warranty?
Dell I620 Desktop Freezes (locks) Up From Time To Time?
Jan 14, 2012So I bought a new desktop computer about 2 weeks ago and ever since I got it, it's been freezing (locking) up on me at random times. I currently use Windows 7 64-bit. I put in a new graphics card and new memory sticks just the other day and I got the same freezing problem. It's very random. I can be surfing the web and the next thing you know, the whole thing freezes up. I can't move the mouse. Can't do CTRL ALT DEL. Can't do anything. Seems as if the whole computer locks up. The only way to restart the computer is by manually holding in the power button for a few seconds. So since I replaced graphics card and installed new memory, I was thinking it may be something else causing this.
