Have set the correct time zone, set the date and time, and within half an hour, the time jumps ahead significantly. Time then continues jumping periodically, and date as well. Any patch available for this?

I've got this folder. In this folder are 643 sub-folders. I want to change the icon of all of those folders quickly, because doing it manually would be horrible.
Each folder has to have it's own icon. Not all the same one.
Currently the .ico's are in a folder with all the exact same name as the folders they need to be matched with. (if I sort by name, they'll all be in the exact same order, if that helps anything)
example: Mainfolder/A/ needs to have icon "A.ico"
So I've been kinda searching around and it seems things like this can (or not) be done with a batch file, and the desktop.ini. Or something..

I have my computer hooked up to a home theater system. Most of the time, my computer audio output is set to my on-board motherboard audio connected to simple speakers, but I frequently switch the default device to digital output through my sound card (HTO Striker 7.1). My goal is to create a file that I can keep on the desktop that will switch the default audio device. In a perfect world, it would switch back and forth between the 2 settings that I use, but I understand that it might be too much to ask for. I have a bit of experience with batch files in XP, but that was essentially reverse-engineering things that I found online.

About a month after I started using it, the Say the Time clock program I bought stopped launching the management menu when I right click the date/time field in the task tray (notification area).
Therefore, I can't use or edit the program. Neither the touchpad nor the cordless mouse works.
Other than this problem, my computer works great. Every single item that's meant to be right clicked works for me.
Is there a way I can generate a log to show the software manufacturer (Provenio) that it's their problem and not mine? I am a novice user but I can follow instructions. However, I don't want to put my computer at risk if I make an entry error.
I've been using computers for 18 years and I've never had this problem until I bought this software and used it for about a month.
I just wanted a conclusive way of putting the ball back in the manufacturer's court.

I am trying to create a batch file that runs 3 other batch files. Right now, it works fine using the call command on each other batch file. However, these other batch files take awhile to run. and so the entire process takes a very long time, since each "sub" batch file is run only after the previous one is finished.I was wondering if there is a command or way to start a batch file fro the top-level batch file, then go on and start the next batch file before the previous one is finished. In other words, I want the sub batch files to run in parallel in the background. (similar to the '&' in Unix).

Let's say " 01 - come.aaa" (A space at the beginning) is the file name.I am trying to change it to "01 - come.aaa"(without the space at the beginning).I am coming up with this error: "Source and destination file names are the same".1) Is this fixable? How?2) How can I find all files on my computer (and external drives) with a space at the beginning in the filename (and of course how can I change them with this error coming up)?3) Is it a problem to have a space at the beginning in the filename (These files will be used in Mac and Linux too) ?

So i recently bought a comp, and every day (or every time i turn it on) its date changes to 2002 and the time to 12AM. I don't know how to fix this as its gets annoying to manually change it everyday. Oh and its not a virus, as soon as i unpacked my comp and turned it on, it was the same date and time.

The problem I am having is that whenever I log onto my computer, I can see that the date and time at the bottom right of the screen always seems to reset to 31/12/2006. I always try to fix this by going to the option where you can synchronise the date and time with the Windows server time, however, this doesn't always seem to work.Another problem I am encountering is that the computer itself seems to be cutting out at different times, for example I could be 98% complete into a full system scan with Kaspersky 2012, but the computer suddenly cuts out, this would also be the case when browsing the internet or completing some Word documents. One other thing to mention as well is that since these problems have occurred, whenever I turn on my computer, I never have to press the power button on, as it seems to turn itself on whenever I switch the power supply on. This is also not normal.

Okay, so it's been over a year, and my 6cell battery is beginning to die out. I ordered a replacement battery from eBay rather than Dell. I'm a college student, and paying $50 sounded better than paying $200. Anyways, I bought a 9cell battery for my XPS. So here's what happens when I plug in the new battery:
AC Charger with NO battery: Computer runs perfectly fine
AC Charger with battery: Computer runs perfectly fine
Battery with NO AC charger: Problems...
When I plugged in just the battery alone, I went into BIOS and saw that the system's date and time were screwed up; it was showing some weird date in the year 1901. With this new battery, sometimes the hard drive wouldn't load. For example, when I turn my computer on, I can hear the hard drive spinning, but after a couple of seconds, the whole system just...freezes.
I initially thought it was a problem with my hard drive, since a screen kept coming up saying that some of the Windows files were corrupt. I did a clean install of Windows 7, and even tried Vista, but still nothing. With Vista, the date and time would still mess up, and sometimes nothing would load. I even tried system restoring after booting from the CD drive, but I received an error message that I had no shadow copies to restore from. I tried starting up with another hard drive, but still had the same issues.
Right now I'm using my old battery, and I get the message "Consider Replacing Your Battery." Can anyone help shed some light on this issue? Does the problem seem to be with the new battery?

If I unplug the power cord on my laptop before I shut it down, then when I turn it back on the system date time is set to a random date (e.g., 1655). This is the only thing that works.
1. Shut down laptop (while plugged in)
2. Remove the battery (while still plugged in)
3. Unplug power cord (then when I want to turn it back on)
4. Plug in power cord first
5. Reattach battery
6. Restart computer
(Either that or leave the power cord connected all the time, but that defeats the whole purpose of being portable!) I bought a new battery. Replaced the CMOS battery. That didn't work either.

So anytime I set my date and time to the correct settings either manually, in the bois, or allowing to sync with internet time option, the date and time seem to adjust forward randomly but seems to be often 2-3 weeks. Not sure when it changes since I never catch real time but I've changed my time approximately 10 times now and it never sticks.

I'm looking at copying about 300 GB worth of data. When I copy all files and insert them onto my new desktop, I notice that all of the date/time stamps are changed to today's date.Is there a way to preserve the date/time stamp for each file, so that it keeps the original one?

I'm having an issue with the creation/modification date of .mov video files on my computer. Simply, they both keep changing to the current date/time when I transfer them to my computer.
For example, if I transfer my .mov videos from my Canon camera via USB to my computer (copy from one, paste into the other), both the created date AND the modified date in Windows 7 becomes the current date/time that I'm transferring them instead of the date/time they were actually shot (which is indeed on the file in the camera). All other video types from other cameras or the like (MP4, MPG, WMV, etc.) don't do this. In fact, I've never experienced this with any of my movie files before and have always been able to see the time they were shot because the created and the modified dates will be when they were shot (and only one changes when I move them).
.mov files automatically get the current date/time for both the created date AND the modified date meaning a video shot and dated weeks ago on the camera appears like I shot it right now when it's transferred to my computer.
I'm not sure if this is a Windows 7 thing with .mov files or a Canon thing. I've posted in a Canon forum and nobody seems to know what I'm talking about so I'm assuming it can't be that widespread. I just don't know where to go with this and it's driving me insane. I hate that I can't tell when my videos from a trip or whatnot were actually shot. It looks like they were all shot at the exact same moment weeks after I got back!
