View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to speed up the time it takes to close the preview window? By default, it takes about 1.5 seconds for the window to close after moving the mouse off of the icon or preview pane.Turning off taskbar animations in the "visual effects" does not shorten the time. It just takes away the animation, but, it still takes about 1.5 seconds for the preview to go away.

Even if, we have a third-party viewer installed for all of them, the thumnail preview never appears (instead, they take up the filetype-icon)Many Media files can have icons with appropriate players/codecs installed: FAQ - Thumbnails But, works need to be done for the e-book sector.Similar issues have been already addressed here on this forum, so I don't think, our experts can't make it.Photoshop PSD files - Enable Thumbnail Previews - Windows 7 ForumsView Photoshop PSD files in Windows - x64 PSD CODEC for Windows 7, Windows VistaFixes for 64-bit Adobe Reader preview handler and thumbnails Some More Resources from Microsoft are Linked Here: File Type Handlers Thumbnail Handlers Building Thumbnail Handlers Thumbnail Handler Guidelines

View 0 Replies View RelatedA week after downloading the new GeForce GT 540 drivers I started getting a rippling effect rolling up my screen only while I play video game (COD2). It was the same day that my parents maid came and cleaned and she cleaned my laptop (Asus K53SV) and knocked it off dual monitor somehow. Could she have caused the effect too? Anyway, my only thought was that it was the driver so I rolled back to the old driver. When it came back, my windows frame and taskbar colors were much lighter colored and the Thumbnail previewer changed to a list. No problem, I switched back to the new driver (rippling effect never went away) and all was fine with Thumbnails.Today (several days later), I started up the puter and the colors were lighter on Windows and the Tumbnails Previewer was gone.So I rolled back the driver and reinstalled new drivers and nothing changed. I googled the problem and found Brink's instructions to save Thumbnail Previewer thing to desktop and hit merge, etc. and restarted and still no Previewer.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded a Packard Bell desktop to Windows 7. It was originally XP. When I installed 7, it didn't look the same as my laptop that had 7 pre-installed when bought. On the desktop, it doesn't show previews of windows on the taskbar when scrolled over etc. Can I make it the same as the laptop?

Running Windows Ultimate 7 x64.I have had the problem a few of you have had with the thumbnail previews on the Superbar flickering when you mouse over the icon. Its deeper than just the superbar screwing up. When this happens I cant highlight and play more than one song at a time with WMP Have to minimize windows just to return to browser and switch back and forth to windows explorer.I have to reboot my PC just to play a DVD folder or DVD disc. The problem started well into 6 months or more of using Windows 7 so I knew it was a problem with either some software I installed or a Component problem. I use Acronis for back-ups and have saved full back-ups of Windows 7 that I know are non-problematic , so after restoring a good image on a freshly formatted partition the problem remained.Tried all the obvious things like video drivers and all but still felt it was in the motherboard chipsets. Something had gotten corrupted or changed.
I have a Gigabyte MB and downloaded the drivers for Windows 7, installed.still there. Tried north bridge and south bridge. What I ended up doing was installing Windows XP x64 on a extra partition which allowed me to use my original installation disc for my motherboard and was able to individually install the drivers for both chips...and after the installation of the south bridge, the computer needed to reboot, at which time it went into a deep process (screen display with please wait or whatever) that took several minutes to complete.I dont remember it ever taking that long to complete .....talking ...like....6-8 minutes. I knew something good was happening.I know these drivers are for XP while in XP but I really wanted to do this just to see if it might get in there and root around deep in those chips since they are the original drivers.I never used XP x64 before with this AMD x2 5600+ I am currently using so I spent a couple hours installing a few programs I use a lot and testing them. Finally I rebooted back into my 7x64 (use EasyBCD) and have not had one problem with it yet. It has been 2 days since I did all this.
I'm running Windows 7 Utlimate 64bit, just started happening , when I click a folder or program on my desktop won't launch the program only will show in the THUMBNAIL TASKBAR on bottom and I can see the preview whats opened when I hoover over the program to launch as well NOTHING HAPPENS did I disable something I don't think

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use Windows Explorer heavily. I am constantly moving files and batches of files from one folder to another. I have one very annoying problem with this but I bet there is a way to fix it.Here's what I do - I highlight several files in the right pane, I hold down the right-mouse-button over the selected files, I drag them over to a folder in the left pane, and then the annoyance happens. If I don't drop those files immediately into that folder, the entire list of sub-folders pops open as if I hit the little plus to the left of the folder. What makes this a major annoyance is that the folder I wanted to move into has now changed its position in the left pane because the sub-folders popped open.
Now, sometimes I desperately need the sub-folder list to open because I forgot to find the folder I needed before moving the files. It is a nice feature. However, if only I could increase the delay-time. I'd like to give myself triple the time to drop the files into the folder before the sub-folder list opens. There has to be a registry tweak for this.
Each day, the first time I opening 'any' existing Microsoft Works Word Processor file that I have, such as ones I have for phone numbers, addresses, etc., I have to wait about 45 seconds for the file to open. And while I'm waiting, I can't do anything else on the computer. Any of those files I open the rest of the day, open immediately. It's just the first time each day.

The os is updated and all the settings of the os are on default. The settings of videocard are in performance/balanced.
The problem was found in counter-strike 1.6 and Urban Terror 4.1 (its a quake3 mod).
In desktop, without gaming or something else, i see that the mouse has some kind of delay (almost nothing here).
During the gameplay i get lag and slow fps...
I disabled the "DESKTOP COMPOSITION" and the problem was not solved but its better with this crap disabled.
I wanna know if you can tell me if there is some config, drive issue, or something else to make it works without this option disabled.
Im thinking in some option on regedit to make desktop composition stop lagging the opengl games.
Does anybody knows how to solve it without disabling the desktop composition?
I like the face of windows 7 and don't wanna loose it for a game too old.
I can't change the width of my taskbar. I have unlocked it and tried to resize it, it would only allow me to adjust the height. I have highlighted the problem in the attachment. I don't know if Firefox is causing it, but just in case, I have Firefox 3.6.21.

So I found a cool theme and icons to go with it. I understand how to change icons and such but I am having trouble with some. (the official Microsoft icons)
Here's my situation.
So I found in the tutorials how to change the icons. I was able to change the libraries icon assuming that when had it on the taskbar, it would change the icon as well.
I was able to change the libraries icon to what I want. I created a library shortcut. then when i pinned it to the taskbar, it changed back to the default, but only on the taskbar
Also, when i try to change the wmplayer.exe and explorer.exe icon through the properties, explorer.exe crashes as soon as I apply.
I'm using clearscreen's theme file but not the explorer.exe that came with it, instead i'm using glow air final's explorer.exe, because it gives better looking start button. Everything would be ok if the taskbar would be more transparent. Even thought the transparency is set to max in the window color settings, the taskbar is not that transparent. I think it's because of the theme file. My question is - how to edit the theme file so the taskbar is more transparent?

View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically, the theme I currently have for my computer is good, but it's extremely buggy (random places where the colour hasn't been changed, no text bar in the Start menu when searching, a few more things that just niggle me). I need a new theme
In the picture, you can see that the theme I have has an almost completely transparent taskbar, apart from a little blur. BUT it mustn't have a border. With the normal Aero theme (and all the other theme's I've found), there's a slight border that separates the taskbar from the wallpaper. I want it just so there is no border so it goes straight from wallpaper to taskbar.
Are there any programmes that will allow me to remove the border from other third party themes? Or, as a (really reeeeeally) last resort, is there any way I could create my own theme?
