We have a laptop which has a 1gb graphics card built in which has been updated and we are trying to run sims 3 on it but after playing for a short time it crashes. I have tried to change dep but with no luck. The sims is upto date version 1.29.55.014001. The windows 7 is home premium. Has someone got this game to work without crashing?
View 9 RepliesIt all started last weekend when I was trying to run Red Faction II, I changed the advanced boot configuration to use 2048 memory because apparently the game will not run otherwise (I did a lot of forum checking to find this solution). I was able to play the game fine, and there were no errors with my computer for a long while. Then I was playing Borderlands and my computer froze (The screen had many broken lines of color from the game and was playing a nonstop sound). After I rebooted the system and logged into my computer to check to see what the error was, it crashed again, only this time it went to the screen where it dumps the physical memory.Since then I was able to get the computer stable enough to use, but have not managed to find the error. I restored the boot settings to normal, and have ran memtest two times, and checked for errors in the hard drive once. Yesterday I tried running Borderlands Two and it crashed in a similar way to when I ran Borderlands, approximately 20-30 minutes after game start. I still have yet to be able to pinpoint the exact error causing these crashes.I checked my system logs and the only critical error I can find is kernal-power, I can paste the details upon request, but this gives no real information other than unexpected shut down.
I have checked other threads but was unable to find a solution, and I am currently unsure if it is a hardware problem or software problem. Initially I thought it was my RAM but tests indicated no errors.note: I have two different brands and sizes of RAM cards, but this has never been an error before, and I have run games extensively on this machine. It has been able to run such games as Skyrim, Borderlands, Minecraft, and various other games on the highest graphical settings with no problems.

Memory has been testing using program from [URL].I'm trying to install Windows 7 64-bit.I built another machine with the same motherboard, processor and RAM which works fine. The differences being between the two machines the Harddisks and Graphics card.On the machine I�m having problems with I have two Seagate ST32000542AS 2TB setup as RAID harddisks and a Gigabyte graphics card.Windows 7 installs but after the first boot from the HDD it displays "Starting Windows" and then resets or displays the blue crash screen. I tried running in safe mode list drivers as it is booting. After disk.sys is loaded the computer freezes.I�ve tried using the latest AMD RAID drivers from the gigabyte website for this motherboard during the installation, but now I�m starting to think this maybe a graphics card driver problem � are there any known issues with the Gigabyte graphics card I�m using and Windows 7?Is there a way of loading the Graphics card driver automatically.

Randomly (for example: while surfing the internet), on Windows 7, the computer crashes with a screen with blue and grey vertical stripes (or sometimes totally grey or black). Sometimes this screen "hides" a BSoD, sometimes it doesn't. The system crashes only if video drivers are installed. On Ubuntu 11.04 (64-bit) and Windows XP (32bit), even after installing the drivers, there are no crashes. From BlueScreenView, all crashes look identical.
I tried:
- 2 passes of Memtest86+: 0 issues
- Installing Windows 7 and then ONLY the video drivers: CRASH
- Installing XP 32-bit SP2 and the drivers: does not crash
- Using Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit: does not crash
- Uninstalling the drivers: does not crash
- Safe mode: does not crash (obviously)
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and have recently encountered a few problems. First (and I'm not sure if this is related), the computer would easily overheat and then cpu usage would skyrocket to 100%, and I wouldn't be able to do anything. After running a virus scan (TrendMicro) and Malwarebytes, I got nothing, and I figured it was just my computer(a DELL Latitude E6400, which usually has overheating problems). This might still be the case. The new problem is that when using Netflix, Microsoft Silverlight plugin crashes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled all of my browsers, cleared the caches and done everything suggested to me.

problem is theres no 64-bit version of adobe flash player. so I started using the 32-bit version of IE so I can use flash. every now and then it says "internet explorer has stopped working" ect.. says its checking for a solution to the problem and no solution exists of course
so anyway its prolly because its the 32-bit version and they didnt bother testing it enough on the 64 bit OS.
anyone else experiencing this?

I put the disc for The Sims 3 in the disc drive, but the download box won't open. I've opened Run, but my computer will not recognize the disc.

I then went in to open it manually but it is not recognising a disk. Firstly i know it is not that there is a problem with my laptop as all other disks work on it & secondly it cannot be the actual disc & i have actaully returned 2 thinking that they were faulty, i am now on my 3rd. Now, when a try to install any 64-bit programs it shows a message of incompatible version of the program with the running Windows, but my Windows 7 is 64 bits.
My computer got the BootMGR is missing problem, which I have had in the past which is not that big. I insert the Windows 7 64 Ultimate disk it starts up everything fine, press repair my computer and it finds the installation. But when I press on it and next it has an error pop up saying "This version of system recovery options is not conpattble with the version of windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that i compatible with this version of Windows." If I dont select anything but press next it allows me to look at the screen Im supposed to, but if I go to command prompt or click autmatically repair nothing will be saved or changed. This is the same disc I installed Windows with and repaired it several times. But I did have to reset BIOS earlier so this may have affected something.
