I just installed Da sims on a HP pavillion dv5 laptop with Intel Core i5 processor & 4g ram with windows 7.The game itself runs rather fine, but the options on the upper part of the screen (build, create family, demolish...) are oddly GONE.So, I installed the same game on my PC (wich runs on win XP) and it works perfectly, with th eproper options on the screen�s upper section.
View 1 RepliesHowever, If I try to change any settings in the options menu, when I click accept the game just freezes. The PC doesn't freeze, JUST the game. When I page out and close the game and reopen it, sometimes the settings took effect, sometimes they didn't.
This happens EVERY time I click the accept button. Other than changing settings in the settings menu, the game works flawlessly. It's just a pain because I would like to change up some settings on my keyboard but after I change it and hit "accept" it just freezes and I have to restart crysis.
**It did NOT do this with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RC.***
SPECS:
-I'm running Windows 7 Premium x64
-ATI 4850x2 Card in Crossfire (absolutely no scaling issues). this is not two separate cards. It's one card with two GPUs on it.
-I'm opening crysis in 32 bit mode
Anyone have some ideas on what this could be?

Somehow I have lost the "Pin to Start Menu" and "Pin to Task Bar" options when I right click on a program's icon whether it is running or not. Another strange thing is that when I right click on My Computer and select "Manage Computer", I get an error message that there is no program associated with that command. I ran "sfc /scannow" and it returned "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations." So I am at a loss. I do recall seeing an option to remove those privileges somewhere, but I cannot for the life of me remember which program I saw it in.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a relatively new computer, but I recently started having a BSOD problem. When I attempt to start windows normally I can get as far as the home screen, but then the BSOD flashes (too quickly to read) and I'm sent to the boot options menu.
Computers are not exactly a strength of mine, but I can follow instructions and would love to have some help getting my computer back to normal!
I seem to be unable to click any menu boxes (such as enter world, etc etc) inside of games when I am using directx 11, however the scroll wheel works. I am not sure if the mouse is the problem, but after scouring the web I can find no explanation as to why this might be, wondering if anyone can shed some light.

The program was installed successfully but office files didn't show their respective icons. For the first time for every office file (e.g Word or Excel document) I have to chose the program to run the file. Now though on clicking any office file they opened in the respective office program but still their icons are like office is not installed.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIs it normal for Windows 7 Home Premium to have multiple boot options at the F8 safe mode menu? (I.e. "Enable boot Logging" "Dosable unsigned drivers" etc etc). I thought there were only three boot options: Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, and Safe Mode with command line..... It seems my safe mode prompt has those three plus all the others.

2. MATSHITADVD-RAM
This is very random and unusual and I have found no fix and as you should know it should look something like this:
1. CD/DVD Drive
2. USB
3. Hard Drive
4. something else
Even in my Bios menu it shows the same thing and I cannot change it so I can't boot from a USB or CD, etc.
I managed to install Sims 1 but after clicking play nothing comes up. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it, and I've searched for any other solution online but nothing seems to work.

If I put in the sims university disc it'll show the screen that has the logo and then nothing, if I put in seasons it'll say I need to make sure sims seasons is in the drive and press ok. I've tried running them as administrator, I've changed all three of their compatibility modes to windows xp service pack 3?

By the middle of the screen the message a crash with a proposal to stop now.After that I see the error logs.Do not understand why the game crashes on my new computer, the other plays the superior Tae Sims 3 run without crashes.Else noticed this feature. I then went in to open it manually but it is not recognising a disk. Firstly i know it is not that there is a problem with my laptop as all other disks work on it & secondly it cannot be the actual disc & i have actaully returned 2 thinking that they were faulty, i am now on my 3rd. I've checked the task manager and in the Processes tab it shows it running, or processing, I just cannot see it or access it no matter what I try. I tried to reinstall with the original discs but when I got to the 20 digit code on the box, it said it was invalid (probably because it belonged to me).
