View 0 RepliesEverytime I restart the computer it boots into a repair mode,attempts to repair my computer, and then tells me "startup repair cannot repair this computer automatically". Why it's doing this I don't know,the system was working fine an hour ago.The only change I made was to attempt to make my RAID work, I rebooted, entered BIOS and changed my "Sata Operation Mode" to "RAID",then the problems started happening. I tried turning it back, even resetting BIOS defaults, but no go. During the boot up though I turned my comp off during the middle of windows loading, I wonder if that could have caused the problem?I know it's not recommended but it's something I've always done and never had a problem with.I've been trying to access my Advanced boot menu to start windows normally(perhaps it's stuck in some kind of repair cycle?) but pressing f8 does nothing, I've tried a thousand times.
I put in my Windows 7 disk and attempted a repair through there which halfway worked. When I boot up now it gives me two OS options to choose from, Windows and Windows 7 Home Premium (Recovered).The latter one boots up windows fine but all of my files are gone and it's telling me my copy of windows is not genuine! I had the majority of my data so it's not a huge deal to do a clean install but I would like to avoid that if possible.I'm using an asrock 890fx mobo with AMD processor.

I get a lot of artifacts in the games such as MW3 and I've tried everything from uninstalling to searching the registry for entries about ATI and AMD.Thats not why I'm here though. I want to try a factory restore. I've backed up all my important information so I'm ready. The problem is when I press F8 at boot, I get no options. My PC - a Dell Inspiron One 2305 did not come with any disc.If it helps I had to do a factory restore before when I had a bad virus. I had to use a program called EasyBCD?

I have tried F8 several times to bring up advanced boot options--just to make sure it comes up in case I ever need it. Well--it has no affect; my PC continues into Windows 7. What am I missing here?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have 2 hard drives in a Raid 0 configuration. On this configuration, I have 2 partitions, C and D. C currently has Vista on it.
booted from win 7 64bit disk. Select Custom. Select advanced options and highlight the C partition. All of the advanced options are greyed out (format, delete, etc).
If I select the D partition, all the advance options are available, but obviously I don't want to install to the D drive.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to why the options are greyed out on my C partition? could it have to do with the Raid 0? It came from Dell like this.
i have a netbook but won't load any further or do anything apart from go into advanced options but then freeze

So don't know how things were just before the shutdown or anything.when i turn on the computer i get to the screen where "touch bios" is and where i can see the options like Bios settings, boot menu, xpress recovery.but i cant press anything, and after about two seconds on that screen the PC shuts down again.The keyword lights up so there is a responds on it, but just doesn't work to press anything before it shuts down.I've got BSOD upto several times a day for a few months time.believe that my computer is affected by some virus or something is delaying my computer. might be an combination of several things.I got no external things hugged up to the stationeer computer right now.it is a windows 7 x64 machine.
usually when i get issues i can access advanced boot up or bios, but can neither in this case..I wonder if it might be a hardware issue.
I bought the bleeping Dell Inspiron 560, was to rapidly tap F8 during startup to bring up the "Advanced Boot Options." I saw the guy at Best Buy do it but it did not work on my machine when I got home. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium. The computer came without a manual or any disks.

View 0 Replies View RelatedI just installed Da sims on a HP pavillion dv5 laptop with Intel Core i5 processor & 4g ram with windows 7.The game itself runs rather fine, but the options on the upper part of the screen (build, create family, demolish...) are oddly GONE.So, I installed the same game on my PC (wich runs on win XP) and it works perfectly, with th eproper options on the screen�s upper section.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHowever, If I try to change any settings in the options menu, when I click accept the game just freezes. The PC doesn't freeze, JUST the game. When I page out and close the game and reopen it, sometimes the settings took effect, sometimes they didn't.
This happens EVERY time I click the accept button. Other than changing settings in the settings menu, the game works flawlessly. It's just a pain because I would like to change up some settings on my keyboard but after I change it and hit "accept" it just freezes and I have to restart crysis.
**It did NOT do this with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RC.***

-I'm running Windows 7 Premium x64
-ATI 4850x2 Card in Crossfire (absolutely no scaling issues). this is not two separate cards. It's one card with two GPUs on it.
-I'm opening crysis in 32 bit mode

Everytime i try to boot up my pc, it automatically goes to the system recovery options menu.No matter what i do, if i restart it comes straight back to this screen. ive tried sytstem restoring numerous times, tried booting in safe mode. But no matter what its the same outcome

Somehow I have lost the "Pin to Start Menu" and "Pin to Task Bar" options when I right click on a program's icon whether it is running or not. Another strange thing is that when I right click on My Computer and select "Manage Computer", I get an error message that there is no program associated with that command. I ran "sfc /scannow" and it returned "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations." So I am at a loss. I do recall seeing an option to remove those privileges somewhere, but I cannot for the life of me remember which program I saw it in.

I seem to be unable to click any menu boxes (such as enter world, etc etc) inside of games when I am using directx 11, however the scroll wheel works. I am not sure if the mouse is the problem, but after scouring the web I can find no explanation as to why this might be, wondering if anyone can shed some light.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently reinstalled (via recovery) my 64-bit Win 7 Home premium . Every thing else is fine, except for office 2007. The program was installed successfully but office files didn't show their respective icons. For the first time for every office file (e.g Word or Excel document) I have to chose the program to run the file. Now though on clicking any office file they opened in the respective office program but still their icons are like office is not installed.

Chrome comes up fine, Steam does too, but when I try to right click on Steam and click friends, all it does is create another steam process running at 100-108 K. Then if I close Chrome and try to reopen it, it will do the same. This happens with EVERY program after I start up. There's a 5 second window where I can open programs without issue, then after that it will only start 108 K copies of them. It takes me around 30 restarts just to get it working properly, if not more.

A recent hardware or software change might be the cause" this screen appears no matter what I do. 2 options also occur on this screen, 1st being restart windows which returns to the same screen again and 2nd which is to launch startup repair which freezes on a loading screen(I've left it for ~12 hours lol). Tapping f8 opens advanced boot options but safe mode and repair you computer do nothing..as in no options or change in screens after I click..(I can't get to factory restore image)
