I have two printers A wireless cannon which it does recognize and an epson RX 580 series it does no recognize. When I go to printers it shows my cannon not epson. However when I want to print a word document the printer that comes up is the cannon.( default setting) But I then hit the draw down button and it does display the RX 580 I select it and it prints. How do I get the RX 580 to show under printers so I can make it the default printer?
I want to install a HP printer HP laserjet 1020 on a PC with Windows 7 32, When I plug it, I receive a message like USB device not recognize. I did try the USB port with a USB memory stick, and the USB port is functioning. This printer had worked few time with the PC. Now, never connect. I uninstall the printer driver then re-install, same problem I did try the printer in another system and it work Is it possible the the USB port is no sourcing enough current for the printer?
I have a desktop computer. I have an older Epson printer attached to the parallel port. I also have a USB Canon Pixma IP4000 printer attached to the desktop..I have 3 other laptop computers which connect wirelessly. The desktop and 2 of the laptops connect fine to the Epson and the Canon printers. These are all XP.But my newest computer is a W7 computer. It recognizes the Epson and works fine with that.How do I get it to see and use the Canon printer (I think it used to work with it). When I try and add a printer and specifiy network printers it does not find the Canon.
I have been attempting to install my HP P2015DN USB printer (connected locally, not to a network), and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (SP1) does not recognize the printer. There is an additional printer that I use for my PC, but this is the primary one.I have checked various posts on these forums regarding this, but practically all of them relate to networked printers, not a single, stand alone printer. I have the correct drivers, and normally, this should not be an issue.I would also like to add that this occurred after installing Win 7 clean, with the exception of monitor/video card drivers. I was in the process of installing all my hardware before starting with any other software.
I suppose the best place to start would be the message I'm being given when I power my computer on. If I don't choose to enter BIOS (by pressing the Delete key, I believe -- not entirely sure if I'm in the BIOS or in some sort of setup, as this setup screen doesn't mention Biostar, the motherboard's manufacturer, anywhere, although I can set the memory frequency, CPU settings, and all the like in this "setup" screen), I'm brought to a black screen with the words: "Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key".I'm guessing this means the computer is either asking me to boot using a hard drive with an existing operating system, or it's asking for an operating system from a DVD or other media-related device. Trouble is, my computer won't detect Windows 7 when I place it into the optical drive, although the drive itself "whirrs" as if it's successfully reading the disc (maybe it's not; I don't really know).Also, my BIOS seems to be all 8-bit, contrary to the slick, 3D-ish, hardware-accelerated look of the BIOS in the motherboard's quick installation guide. Don't know what the deal is there.SATA / serial ATA for both the hard drive and the optical drive; HDD's serial ATA is plugged into SATA 1, and the optical drive's is in SATA 2.The 24-pin power to the motherboard, of course. It didn't satisfyingly "snap" into the socket, though -- it took quite a bit of force to just get it in snugly.The CPU fan.The 4-pin CPU power.The front umbilical cords (reset, power, all that; seems to be working fine, as the reset switch works, the blue power LED functions, the computer powers on immediately after I press the button...)

Is this six-pin cable supposed to be important?Beyond that, everything feels snug and proper, really; the SATA cables are firm, the serial ATA cables all snapped into place, the system fans and CPU fan both work, the computer seems to recognize both sticks of RAM, my CPU, my hard drive, and my optical drive... I'm perplexed, really.It might be worth mentioning that my optical drive is over five years old, and that for the past ~year and a half, it's been sitting outside in my old computer case (enduring sub-zero temperatures at one extreme and temperatures exceeding 100 degrees, plus humidity, on the other). I suppose it's also worth mentioning that I'm attempting to use illegitimate Windows 7 discs (three; all burned at different speeds; all from an existing, extremely reputable torrent provider -- at least, reputable as far as pirates are concerned. One was burned at x8, one at x12, and one at x16; and they were burned using a fairly modern optical drive).Oh, and I'm not using the serial ATA included in my case's front umbilicals for anything; I'm using separate serial ATAs for both my hard drive and optical drive, which both, to reiterate, are plugged into SATA ports.
I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. Everything is great (big difference, I'm very pleased). I want to create a system repair disk for this new OS, just in case. But every time I load a blank CD, even after formatting it, the computer says that the CD is not blank.Yes it is! Why is it not recognizing this as a blank CD? I have tried several of them, same result.
I`ve got a serious problem with my vaio. i was surfing the net that i faced a BAD SECTOR ERROR on system 32. As I closed the ERROR,the system restarted. When I select the windows 7 to boot, the windows logo page come and restart again and again.Even when i decided to install a new version or repair it,the installation found no drive to install on.\
My system dual boots to either Windows 7 or Vista Ultimate, or, at least it is supposed to. Something happened and now the system just boots to Winodows 7 without giving me the choice to boot to either. When I use F6 I find that only Windows 7 is listed in the Operating Systems box.

I have a HP printer connected to my Windows 7 RC x64 system and it prints from my computer just fine. I pulled up the settings and told it I wanted to share the printer as "Win7HP" to make the name easy. Anyway when I went down to my roomates computer I didn't see the printer and if I try to click my computer name under his network window I get a pop up asking for a user name and a PW. What am I doing wrong? I would hate to have to install another partition of Vista x64 just so he can print using my printer.

having moved once and having add and removed computers from my home network, along with other changes, I now have a cluttered Printer Selection Window, by which I mean the window that pops up when I want to print a document. I have five versions of a Brother printer and four versions of an HP printer, and only one of each is actually good. How do I clean up that window by getting rid of those obsolete references that no longer work? It's ridiculous that they don't simply disappear when I select one of them as the default.
I bought a new wireless Epson Workforce 545 printer. It has worked without flow for quite some time (nearly a year). Now all the suddenly it wont print.I have it as a shared printer. There are three other family members on the network and all three others print without any problem. Mine worked fine and now wont print. It goes through the motions and then times out. All it says is "printer error".
I use Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. My problem is: Whenever I try to print something (word, pdf, or any other file); printer spooler stops working and when I check the Devices and Printers all the printer drivers seem to be disappeared. I checked the Print Spooler" in the Services tool; and set the "Recovery after subsequent failures" option to Restart the Serviceā. Therefore all the printer drives coma back after 1 minute. However the spooler stops immediately again when the uncompleted printing job starts; hence I can not print anything more than a page. Earlier in this forum, someone posted that Microsoft issued a hotfix for this problem ( hotfix 2388142) which can be downloaded from article: [URL]. I downloaded this hotfix and tried to install, however it gives an error message of: The update is not applicable to your computer and quits installation. I did uninstall and reinstall all the printer drives, but this did not help either.
I have 2 computers on my home network. My desktop is running Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and I have a kodak 5500 Aio connected to it. I also have a laptop that's running windows 7 home premium 64 bit that connects wireless. I was able to print until today and now I can't print from the laptop. I downloaded Printers' drivers, one for HP and the other for Epson by accessing their web-sites.Both are USB-connection and working fine, however icons of both printers on, ... Start > Device and Printers,.... there are no printers' icons, even though other devices, such as thumb-drive, monitor, keyboard and others.Just wonder why icons of both printers are missing on 'Device and Printer?'
