Windows 7 64bit Does Not Recognize HP P2015DN USB Printer On Install
Feb 16, 2013
I have been attempting to install my HP P2015DN USB printer (connected locally, not to a network), and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (SP1) does not recognize the printer. There is an additional printer that I use for my PC, but this is the primary one.I have checked various posts on these forums regarding this, but practically all of them relate to networked printers, not a single, stand alone printer. I have the correct drivers, and normally, this should not be an issue.I would also like to add that this occurred after installing Win 7 clean, with the exception of monitor/video card drivers. I was in the process of installing all my hardware before starting with any other software.
I've been all over the net trying to resolve this issue, and found many hotfixes, downloads from Microsoft and manufacturer, but to no avail. My external drive was recognized for the first month. Then, very suddenly, Windows 7 doesn't recognize it. It sees it, but prompts a "Need to Format before first use". It has 300G already used with valuable info.Tried moving the external hard drive to our home PC with Windows XP and the same "Need to Format" message is prompted. If I hook it up on my wife's MAC, I can see the data. Now I have read that this is a known issue with the 64bit version of Windows and external drive. I have already all the KB976972 and KB977074 download fixes from Microsoft. I have also tried to uninstall the drive, unplug it, turn it off, restarting Windows, and plugging back the drive, but I have the formatting prompt again. And if I choose to not format, i have an error message DATA ERROR (CYCLIC REDUNDANCY CHECK).**This does not seem to be an issue regarding only the WD drives but all drives**Called WD tech, and it was useless. Does anyone have a fix? A link to share? An idea? I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on my HP Pavilion a6418f.
I have a desktop computer. I have an older Epson printer attached to the parallel port. I also have a USB Canon Pixma IP4000 printer attached to the desktop..I have 3 other laptop computers which connect wirelessly. The desktop and 2 of the laptops connect fine to the Epson and the Canon printers. These are all XP.But my newest computer is a W7 computer. It recognizes the Epson and works fine with that. How do I get it to see and use the Canon printer (I think it used to work with it). When I try and add a printer and specifiy network printers it does not find the Canon.
I run Windows 7 on two of machines. One runs flawlessly. The other ran flawlessly for about a month or two, and then I started getting a rather odd problem. The OS fails to recognize my (mostly) left mouse clicks for random periods of time, say 5 seconds to like 60 seconds. It'll work, then it'll stop, then it'll work... etc. Obviously this is extremely frustrating. Thinking it's the mouse, I tried another mouse - same problem.
Both mice are USB, but it does not seem to be an issue with the USB ports as my keyboard and other USB peripherals work fine. Running the C2D Extreme Quad core from a couple of years ago, X38 chipset board, 4870x2. I formatted and reinstalled the first time this problem came up, and it started again within a few hours of the reinstall. All I've got installed besides my drivers are:
I want to install a HP printer HP laserjet 1020 on a PC with Windows 7 32, When I plug it, I receive a message like USB device not recognize. I did try the USB port with a USB memory stick, and the USB port is functioning. This printer had worked few time with the PC. Now, never connect. I uninstall the printer driver then re-install, same problem I did try the printer in another system and it work Is it possible the the USB port is no sourcing enough current for the printer?
I have two printers A wireless cannon which it does recognize and an epson RX 580 series it does no recognize. When I go to printers it shows my cannon not epson. However when I want to print a word document the printer that comes up is the cannon.( default setting) But I then hit the draw down button and it does display the RX 580 I select it and it prints. How do I get the RX 580 to show under printers so I can make it the default printer?
Trying to install a ssd in my g73jh. Inserted the 3 recovery disk one at a time and after 37 minutes the message said the recovery was a success and then the next screen came up said insert media disk just like it did when I first started. Does this mean that windows 7 didn't recognize the ssd and if that's the case what is the next step.
I am building a computer fort the first time and I am having trouble getting Windows 7 to recognize my hard drive. My har drive and mother board are as follows: Hard drive-Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive, Mother Board-GIGABYTE GA-870A-UD3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard..So when I go to install windows 7 I eventually get to a screen where it ask for an install location, unfortunately it doesn't seem to recognize my hard drive. It gives me an option of installing driver so I went to the gigabyte website and downloaded the drivers that it said I required. I believe there was an AHCI driver and a Raid driver. After I stalled both of these drivers the hard drive still was not detected. One strange thing I noticed was that when I browse for a driver my hard drive is listed as a place I can search. I then proceeded to the Bios to try and match the drivers. The hard drive is detected in the Bio. When the HD is set to IDE my BluRay play is able to read the windows install disc. But windows won't recognize my HD. If I set it to AHCI or Raid I can't seem to get the windows CD to load. Do I need an IDE driver? Out of frustration I tried installing a windows XP to see if it would be able to recognize my hard drive. It seemed to load on the hard drive fine but entered this weird loop where windows would install itself but wouldn't actually load as the operating system. In other words when I try to restart my computer and run the OS off of my hard drive it gave me an error message. Something like (windows OS could not be located) When I went to go install windows 7 again my hard drive still was not detected as a place to intall windows but when I search the hard drive (as if I was searching for a driver) I can see the Windows files that were loaded from when I tried to install XP.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and never had any problem installing 64-bit programs. Now, when a try to install any 64-bit programs it shows a message of incompatible version of the program with the running Windows, but my Windows 7 is 64 bits.
I am running Windows7 64 bit which runs excellent, solid like a rock. The problem I have is it horrible when it comes to getting a printer to work. I have a KODAK ESP5250 all in one printer. I can print test pages fine but when I try to print from IE, Google Chrome, and note pad I get no response. When I click on printer properties location is blank.
I want to connect a printer which is attached with another PC using Win XP32bit.Printer: HP P2015Ive downloaded Win7 64bit PCL5 /PCl6 universal driver fro
I have windows 7 on a acer notebook and able to use my HP 5610xi w/no problem. I recently bought an acer desktop emachine el1352g and cannot use my hp or some other software. It says that product cannot be installed with operating system. The only difference i can see is that the emachine desktop is a 64bit processor. I tried to go through hp (download driver) website but got no where.
I'm running the Windows 7 64bit, the printer is connected to the XP. That printer is not a network printer (Hp 5740,and 5520) , and shared from a Desktop running WinXP 32 bit. I cannot install it via network access ?
I have 3 systems each running Windows 7 Ultimate on a home network (not a home group). I have an HP Laserjet 1022 attached via USB to system #3 (32 bit). System #1 is 64 bit and #2 is 32 bit. System #2 prints fine on system #3. When system #1 (64 bit) prints, the entry is made into the print queue of #3, but never prints. I've tried restarting the print spooler to no avail. Print entry from #1 cannot be cancelled. I have to manually delete the spooler entry for the print job from C:/Windows/system32/spool/PRINTERS.Without getting into finger pointing at HP, is there a problem with the printing software in Windows 7 when OS word sizes are mixed ? Is the HP Laserjet 1022 driver too old to be used (the driver states it was modified this current year)?
I built it mainly for my 14yo to do school work and video games on rather to replace our aging desktop which is still used also. The old machine runs 32-bit Vista while the new one is 64-bit Win7, of course. In our reorganization we moved our Canon MP610 printer to be hooked up to the new machine, but it'd be great if we could share it amongst both pc's and my older son's new laptop. I've search and read lots of sites online, but can't really find a solution to get the old pc to be able to "see" the printer to share.
I have recently purchased a canon i-senys m3010 laser jet mono printer. the software is only for 32 bit and is not compatable with my 64 bit PC. I can't seem to find a driver that can work
Have a Canon ip6000d printer hooked up to a Win7 32bit machine. I installed the "printer add-on module" for Win7 on this machine and it prints fine. I share it across the network so that I can print from my Win7 64bit laptop but I can not install the driver for it. The laptop sees the printer when I try to "add a printer" but it looks for a 64bit driver. So I installed the "printer add-on module" onto the laptop, and still nothing, it continues to look for a driver. So I then directly connected the printer (usb) to the laptop, it installed itself and works perfectly fine. So I reconnected it back to the 32bit machine and tried to "add a printer" again over the network and it still asks for the 64driver. I can't find a regular .inf driver file anywhere for this printer, just the damn "printer add-on module".
