I have windows 7 on a acer notebook and able to use my HP 5610xi w/no problem. I recently bought an acer desktop emachine el1352g and cannot use my hp or some other software. It says that product cannot be installed with operating system. The only difference i can see is that the emachine desktop is a 64bit processor. I tried to go through hp (download driver) website but got no where.

This 16bit software ran fine on my previous pc, which had Windows 7 Starter 32-bit. But the 64 bit Windows 7 version wont run it, I cant use Windows XP Mode on my version of Windows 7, need Pro - Ultimate Version.
I want to install and run the Windows 7 32-bit I have, on my new pc (I still have the installation disk) on a separate partition and keep the 64 bit version to. Is this possible to install both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows 7 and then select which to run when the pc boots?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an HP 2175 All-in-One printer and I've lost the installation cd. I followed the instructions as provided by the support pages directly from HP. Few things happened. First, most of the features of the printer were not working, such as one-touch scanning. If I'd select print landscape, the document would come out portrait. I tried uninstalling, and doing a fresh install, and I've been getting under the control panel device list multiple copies of the HP2175 printer (Copy 1... copy 2.... etc).
I'd like to know, how do I remove the drivers fully, and try a completely new install again, how do I get all the features to work, and how do I get rid of the extra copies of the device?
My granddaughter just purchased an Asus netbook and it came with Windows 7 Starter Edition installed...Is there any way to upgrade the operating system to Win 7 Home Edition? There is no DVD drive in this computer.

If I get a replacement netbook with Starter on it, will I be able to use the same activation number on the new one or will it ring up "Tilt"? View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a printer connected by USB to a desktop running Vista and hardwired to a WiFi router and I've got a Nokia booklet running Windows 7 Starter and using the WiFi. I have tried to get the two computers to connect with each other, but only the desktop can get into the booklet. I cannot get the booklet to get into the desktop. It seems that because I only have Win Starter 7, I cannot form a home group. I need the full featured Win 7 to do that. Is that correct? I really would like to use the printer on the booklet, but even though it seems to send the document to the printer queue on the desktop, nothing prints. I suspect it's the same issue as I mentioned, but at least it's getting something into the desktop. When I try to print and then look at the document's properties, it says the size of the document but always says pages to print.

I upgraded this lunchtime from Windows 7 Starter to home premium via the Windows Upgrade Advisor which said my netbook was compatible, I carried out the upgrade via the windows upgrade advisor. It worked fine for a while but I was having trouble trying to set up my LAN and wireless connection to work together in order to get onto xbox live via BT Openzone. After a while the advice from the microsoft website was to carry out a system restore, so I did and used the recommended date, however on trying to restore the ugrade failed and reverted back to windows 7 starter. It is highly bothersome that I cant keep each volume letter unchanged so I can identify each one of my 6 hard drives + the Usb drives. I always keep 2 HDD inside the PC tower plus another 4 inside an external enclosure. Additionally I have an external Sabrent USB-DSC5 Hard Drive adapter with one HDD or Optical drive connected to it and the PC.
Is it possible from Windows 7 to set it in such a way that the drives lettering e.g. C E F G H J K etc etc remain linked to each individual HDD? If Windows does not offer that capability how do I solve this need? Is there any known software I could install that deals with this issue and solves it efficiently?

A few days ago,my laptop was working fine..when suddenly it started to hang up..i tried to logoff but it dosent...i waited for 15 min but it didnt respond...then i force shutdown it..when i restarted it,it showed up with BSOD saying "unmountable_boot-volume"
and then restarts itself again...it came up with "windows has failed to logon" i selected "Startup Repair" it took 2 days continuously repairing it up...but it goes on for "attempting repairs''...finally.i lost my patience and press cancel..it hanged up again..i restarted my PC it again came up with BSOD again mentioned above.When i tried to run startup repair,this time it wont start...Then i tried to load windows in safe mode,no luck,in safe mood with command prompt to run chkdsk,but i wont load..it stuck up at driver.sys... i got an answer to run tools for checking up my hard drive,i downloaded DFT from Hitachi and run it ...but it wont..it stuck up with a cursor blinking and saying "Loading DFT"...i waited for 2 hrs but nothing happens...Then i ran seagate tools..it runs..check for errors ...it came up with answer : Bad Sectors Found..then i ran up advance test to repair bad sectors..it repaired 2 sectors and then : "Repair Failed Bad Sectors Found.."i was just googling up to see if Bad sectors Can be repaired...i found HDD Regenerator..but i dont know if it can really repair Bad Sectors on my hard drive..

I am having a problem. The OS(Windows 7 x64) finishes installing but when it finishes it boots up again like normal then flashes a quick blue screen error message. I have tried doing what the comments told you to do except for downloading the ISO and burning it to a disk. I just get the same error. I have researched this processor and it turns out it has been known to be VERY dodgy with Windows 7 64-bit.

Alright, here are my pc specs first: I5-2310, 8gb Ram, geforce 560 gtx, 450 watt psu. 1.5 tb hdd. I am having an issue where my pc will randomly hang for a second or too, sometimes when something loads sometimes it just does it randomly, its really starting to worry me, I've scanned for viruses, and defragged my hard drive and this has not fixed it. Does it every 30-60 mins on average.
