I tried installing a 64 bit Windows 7 on 32 bit processor(Dual Core, 2.80HGHz) having a DDR RAM of 2.5GB. But I could not do so due to 'Hardware Incompatibility'.I then tried to install a 32 bit-Windows7 Home premium, but again the same 'Hardware Incompatibility' appears on screen and prevents the installation.

I initially discovered the problem about a week ago and originally thought the problem was just limited to Internet Explorer and Firefox, but after poking around my system a bit more, it looks like its affecting everything except 64bit Internet Explorer 8 which can save without any problems.

To speed up my computer a little bit, I have added into my computer 8 gigabyte of RAM. My processor is a standard quad core. So my computer should be powerful enough to handle my requirements. Unfortunately, this isn't so. From time to time Visual Studio hangs, although my hardware should be good enough.
A possible reason for this could be the limitation for 32 bit applications. Visual Studio 2010 does not support out of the box a 64 bit compilation, so it is basically a 32 bit application. Is it possible to patch a 32 bit application (in my case VS 2010) to gain the same results as for a 64 bit compiled application?
i recently downloaded a patch for this game (an unofficial one) and when i came to install it i get an error telling me that "this program is not compilable with your version of windows please contact the vendor for the correct version of the program (32bit or 64bit)" I've never encountered this problem before and as far as i know 32 bit programs should work on 64 bit OSes just fine (i have windows 7 ultimate 64 bit btw)i just want to know have you guys ever encountered such an error? how did you solve it/get past it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just formatted my computer and after completion of my install of Windows 7 I noticed that it installed the 32-bit version, yet for the last year it has been running the 64-bit version!! I have no idea why it won't let me install the 64-bit version, I even tried another fresh install of Windows 7 but I got the same result. Thinking it was hardware, I ran the Windows Experience Index and then clicked "View details etc.." and it indeed did say that my system IS 64-bit capable!What am I doing wrong?? Here's the thing, I'm trying to get my old Thrustmaster Tacticalboard game controller peripheral going again, problem is that it's a bit old by now, bought it in 2003.One of the things that are necessary for it to work is the driver package is supposed to install a virtual Thrustmaster Keyboard and Thrustmaster Mouse drivers during the installation, but this isn't happening for me.Drivers are 32bit, I'm running Win 7 64bit, drivers for this peripheral are no longer developed by Thrustmaster so there is no point askinasically Windows 7 installs it's default keyboard and mouse driver for this device and ignores the ones provided by the drivers package, which renders the device half-useless, keybinding isn't possible since the software doesn't see any device it's meant to modify, can't change any settings which isn't of any use for me since it's in need of pre-configuration to adjust it to your own individual needs/preferences.Is there any way I can enforce use of these drivers? Or enforce the installer to put it's own drivers to use just for this device?

My problem is that the M6300 I just purchased has a 64 bit processor. After installing the 32 bit cloned hd my 64 bit unit won't boot. I tried using the Windows repair utility but that could not fix the issue. I tried installing Windows 7 32bit software again but it won't allow me to install it without booting to windows as I want to keep the programs and data already on the hd. how to get my cloned 32 bit os to boot on a 64 bit computer?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get 15 monitors working on my system. I have a gigabyte GA990fxaud5 motherboard with amd fx 8150, 8 core CPU and 16 gb dual channel Kingston ram. I also have 4x firepro 2450 video cards 3 of x16 here: NTI--ATI FirePro 2450 PCI Express. 4 Display Video card.and 1 of x1 here: NTI--ATI FirePro 2450 PCI Express. 4 Display Video card.I am running windows 7 pro 64 bit I have 2 of the x16 cards installed and its working fine and it takes me to a black screen that says "loading operating system" and then everything else goes smooth and takes me to the windows os. When I run the system with these 2 video cards everything runs perfectly and I can get 8 outputs. The problem is, when I put the third card in the system, the system boots, gets passed the bios (where I can press esc to access bios) but then it takes me to a black screen with no further activity. It's when I place the third card in, is when this black screen occurs without having any message.Maybe the systems confused with this third card. Maybe it's something in windows 7 settings. Or maybe bios.I have installed this exact firepro driver: ATI FireGL?Do I need to have SLI or CrossFire to run multiple video cards? View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with running certain apps with admin privilege.I have installed Notepad++ which i use for my .js files.Now here's what's happening: When im editing a file which is located in the programfiles folder, it wouldn't allow me to save it. I can only save it if i close the app, give it admin privilege(right click->compatibility->check run as admin).This is fine with me. But if i do that, another issue pops up. I am then not able to open files in notepad++ via the context menu. neither can i drag drop the file onto notepad++.

I have used a power option to hibernate/shutdown my desktop after (say) 2 hours. This works correctly so that the system does not shutdown automatically when I am running interactive applications. At least one scheduled weekly task (McAfee virus scan) can take many hours and I normally run it overnight. But when it is the only task running, the PC hibernates (apparently after the prescribed interval) even though the application is still running.
I do not want to change my power settings to prevent automatic hibernation completely or to lengthen the interval meaninglessly. So: Is there any other way to ensure that the virus scan is allowed to complete before the system hibernates? During a scheduled scan, McAfee has an option to run "in the background". Would cancelling that option have the desired effect?

8 GB of Corsair C9 kit of memory
PH67S-C43 (B3) motherboard from MSI.
Caviar Black 750gb
Greenpower 1TB
The only problem is, it runs very slowly in some applications such as Firefox and Minecraft. I've installed all drivers listed on the MSI website as well as my GPU drivers. Still no luck. I've installed Steam, microTorrent, Microsoft Security Essentials, Java (x64), Adobe Flash, and Adobe Reader X.
I am having an unexpected shutdown when i run loaded applications like games and all that.

View 10 Replies View RelatedSuddenly my Win 7 Home Premium x64 will not boot. The system starts, POSTs then loads the DVD driver, then the screen goes black (not blank but "lit up" black if that makes sense). Then nothing. If I use Hiren's boot cd I can boot up using the "boot from HDD" option fine and Windows operates normally. System restore to a previous configuration made no difference to the original problem. I cannot boot into Safe Mode. F8 just offers me boot order options.
- Running the Windows 7 DVD I find: "No operating system is listed on the Repair Windows option."
- Running Startup Repair finds the following error: "the partition table does not have a valid system partition" which it claims to have repaired, but the error remains and Windows will still not boot.
I followed this advice:
Boot 7 dvd to system recovery options command prompt. Type: Diskpart
list vol (find the vol letter e.g C or partition number e.g. 1 for the system partition )
Sel vol C ( or sel vol 1, obviously use the correct letter or number)
act exi
My system partition was easily identified and listed as healthy so I selected it and made it active. The problem still remains exactly the same. My system is self built just over a year ago, to my knowledge has been running fine, without any hardware issues. I'm prepared to do a clean install if that's what it takes but if there is a way to fix the partition problem without that I'd like to explore it first.
"Missing operating system" massage is coming when i start my system and i am not able to start. I think because , i had given "mark partition as active" option for one hard dive (E) in disk management when last time i opened. it did not have any data. i did not know, this will make any problem. Now i am not able to boot windows re installation dvd also. i can only take BIOS settings.
