View 2 Replies View RelatedI just formatted my computer and after completion of my install of Windows 7 I noticed that it installed the 32-bit version, yet for the last year it has been running the 64-bit version!! I have no idea why it won't let me install the 64-bit version, I even tried another fresh install of Windows 7 but I got the same result. Thinking it was hardware, I ran the Windows Experience Index and then clicked "View details etc.." and it indeed did say that my system IS 64-bit capable!What am I doing wrong?? Or what am I not doing in order to reach the [COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue !important]64-bit[/COLOR][/COLOR] install threshold?

I just purchased a second Dell M6300 and cloned the hd using Acronis. The cloning is supposed to produce a bootable drive. My problem is that the M6300 I just purchased has a 64 bit processor. After installing the 32 bit cloned hd my 64 bit unit won't boot. I tried using the Windows repair utility but that could not fix the issue. I tried installing Windows 7 32bit software again but it won't allow me to install it without booting to windows as I want to keep the programs and data already on the hd. how to get my cloned 32 bit os to boot on a 64 bit computer?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHere's the thing, I'm trying to get my old Thrustmaster Tacticalboard game controller peripheral going again, problem is that it's a bit old by now, bought it in 2003.One of the things that are necessary for it to work is the driver package is supposed to install a virtual Thrustmaster Keyboard and Thrustmaster Mouse drivers during the installation, but this isn't happening for me.Drivers are 32bit, I'm running Win 7 64bit, drivers for this peripheral are no longer developed by Thrustmaster so there is no point askinasically Windows 7 installs it's default keyboard and mouse driver for this device and ignores the ones provided by the drivers package, which renders the device half-useless, keybinding isn't possible since the software doesn't see any device it's meant to modify, can't change any settings which isn't of any use for me since it's in need of pre-configuration to adjust it to your own individual needs/preferences.Is there any way I can enforce use of these drivers? Or enforce the installer to put it's own drivers to use just for this device?

What if I use something like paragon, does that allow the actual image to be put into a flash drive? I know they allow "bootable usb" but I guess that s the same as what the Windows 7 DVD/USB tool does right..i.e but the actual windows to boot into and then use an image in the HDD to restore?
I do back-up using "Control PanelAll Control Panel ItemsBackup and Restore" and select image, but my flashdrive says "The drive is not a valid back-up location".

Everything went fine the first day, but next day everything kept telling me to install flash player which I already did that along with java. I went to control panel flash player was there hit update, says I had latest version. I uninstalled flash player went to adobe and downloaded it again, install process says I have the newest version already installed but I have no flash installed at this moment. The little bar at bottom keeps saying website wants to install following adobe flash player addon which is showing right now as I write this. I installed it at first with the default 32 bit internet explorer which is ie9 but now nothing seems to work and still have no flash player installed.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI dont know if this is posted in the right area but I'm so desperate to get my laptop working its unreal. First it started off with my laptop crashing, I had totally forgot it needed to do a windows update and turned off my laptop in hopes that it would work properly. After that my laptop has not been working. The machine turns on and gives me two options. Start windows normally or do a repair. Upon starting windows normally, it loads so far before sending me back to the two options of start windows normally or repair. On the second time I clicked repair. My laptop then goes so far before presenting me with a blue screen that is usually the screen where my accounts are. The cursor still moves but it loads no further even after leaving it an hour. I decided to make a repair disk, hoping that the problem was because of windows. the disk loads, gives me a choice on the keyboard language then does nothing. I honestly have no idea what to do, I want to keep all the files safe on my computer as I havent backed them up and I have worked so hard on the projects.

problem is theres no 64-bit version of adobe flash player. so I started using the 32-bit version of IE so I can use flash. every now and then it says "internet explorer has stopped working" ect.. says its checking for a solution to the problem and no solution exists of course
so anyway its prolly because its the 32-bit version and they didnt bother testing it enough on the 64 bit OS.

I have a new (replacement for a failed drive) Hitachi 500GB HDD that I'm trying to install Windows 7 64 bit on (full install disk). I have Win XP 32 on drive D: of another drive and want to dual boot. I used PMagic to partition the new drive into 2 250 GB partitions, the first as C: drive, active and primary---formatted NTFS. Thinking I would install on that partition.
When I run install on Windows 7 64 I get to the window where you can select upgrade or custom and I select custom install and select the c: drive. I then get a cannot find a system drive error message. I went bak and removed the partitions thinking maybe it would work on unallocated drive space same error message. I deleted the partition inside Windows 7 from the same screen and formated it there too and still get the same message. Diagnostics show that the drive is good. What am I doing wrong?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe windows folder in my C: drive keeps growing on a massive scale...Yesterday the folder was around 13 gb...Now it is close to 18gb...When i first installed the OS i had allocated only 19gb for OS...But windows chewed up all this space fast and i used a partition software to increase size to 40gb...Immediately after restart the size of c drive increased to 22 gb....What is going on...The steps i have taken so far..
Reduced pagefile size
Turned off hibernation or sleep mode..It freed up some space..
Used ccleaner
Defragmented
Used malware bytes anti-malware to scan...
deleted temp files in windows

I recently reorganized my computer and this included a fresh install of Windows 7 on a new disk. I backed up all my data on the old disk so that I could make sure I wasn't losing any important documents or whatever.I'm now sure I've got everything off the disk that I needed and am using the disk as a storage disk for media. However, there are still folders that I can't seem to erase in the Program Files, Program Files (x86), and Windows directories. Most of the files are gone but about 12GB of junk remains that I no longer need. Whenever I try to delete what is left, it says I need permission from TrustedInstaller and it won't let me delete these files.Is there any way to blow these directories away without having to format the disk? I really can't format because the disk is almost full with data that I need to keep and I don't really have any other disks to temporarily back these files up to.
