I overclocked my cpu to 3GHz along with RAM (running at 1333MHz). Did stress test for 9 and half hours and everything seems stable. Prime 95 doesn't show any errors and max temperature it reached was 48. I also did winsat mem test but max it goes was upto 5960.97MB/s (Without OC, it scores upto 4721 MB/s). I'm pretty sure my ram is capable of running higher.

I was considering undervolting and decided to see how hot my CPU would get under load before I undervolted. Two days ago I ran Orthos for a few minutes and watched my CPU get into the mid 90's C. After I terminated the program I noticed that TZ00 in HWMonitor stayed at 105 C for a couple of minutes and then the PC shutdown. The CPU temps returned to normaSince then things have been OK but the TZ00 temp is still about 10 degrees higher than the CPU temps.What exactly is the TZ00 sensor and after this episode was permanent damage sustained?

I've been using my Ps3 controller as an alternative to an Xbox 360 controller on my PC (to play games with a gamepad) but in order to use my Ps3 controller as a makeshift 360 controller, I need test signing enabled.
Unfortunately with test signing enabled I get a big ugly watermark at the bottom right of my screen, as far as I know the only way to disable this is to disable test signing, otherwise it just won't leave! Is there any way I can get past this and somehow keep driver test signing enabled but get rid of that horrid watermark ruining my gorgeous wallpaper?
I recently replaced the hard drive on my Dell PC. I followe the Seagate instructions to copy the entire hard-drive, including the Operating System. The instructions didn't say anything about activation or "genuine windows" issues. In any case, my Windows 7 installation is "activated", but does not pass Microsofts "Genuine" tests. Updating is disabled. I really don't want to reinstall Windows 7. Is there a way to get my "Genuine" status back?

Fearing the worst, I reran it, and it again failed, but on a different core. Just to eliminate any RAM issues, I did a couple of passes with Memtest, and seems to be alright there.

The NTFS partition used to show up in 'My Computer' fine, but after re-installing Ubuntu 9.10 it doesn't. (NO i have not erased the entire disc as i can still access it in Ubuntu and it has all my files etc on)
Any ideas on how to get it to show up? it's even missing from the disc manager.

I've just received my Western Element 2,5Tb today. When I first plugged it in, it worked normally. But due to my over-excitement, I copied too much files at the same time and it wasn't working anymore. I regretted doing this immediately.
I have searched on the internet to find some solutions but all of them didn't work. I've checked the Computer Management, Disk Management, but nothing about my External HD showed up. In the notification area, my laptop still detected it and I can removed it properly [even though i can't use it at all].
I tried to connect to my USB and another Samsung 500Gb HDD. And it worked perfectly fine. Then, I tried to connect my new HDD to my sister's lap [she is using Window Vista] and it worked perfectly fine too.
i only see a blackscreen until the logon screen shows up.

The hard drive that isn't showing up in My Computer (but showing up in Device Manager), is a Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1 TB.
The hard drives that are showing up are both Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 but one is a 500 GB the other is a 750 GB.
I am trying to boot from a Windows & Installation disk on a eMachine T3522.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to overwrite Win7 32-bit with Win7 64-bit. When I run Win7 install it does not find my two HDDs (they are RAID-1). When I look in my Device Manager (before starting the install process) under "Disk Drives" it only shows "GRAID SCSI disk device" and some other drives that are not hard drives. It does not show two HDDs. The BIOS shows both drives and shows a GRAID-1 configuration. I am not sure what to do next to get Win7 to either find the HDDs to write the new Win7 to or do something with the "GRAID SCSI disk device." I bought this machine like this and am not familiar with how to set these things up: I am not an expert.

Doesn't work in Skype, TS3, and it doesn't even pick it up in Recording Devices. It's the kind of headset where it's not a USB; it's got a plug for the mic and another for the headphones. They're both plugged in firmly, and I've updated my audio thing which is IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. My laptop is a HP Pavilion g6-1241sa Notebook PC. I've also gone into Recording Devices and checked for any disabled mics, but the one in my headset isn't there. And even though my headset is set as the Default Communication Device, the mic doesn't get picked up under Recording Devices. Push to Talk is also not on. The headset is also shown only under Playback Devices.

The only problem is that I don't have any cleaner to fully clean the old thermal paste so I wanted to ask is it recommended that one should clean it properly and if so can i use a white spirit to remove the old layer of thermal paste. View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a small problem with my Windows 7. Here's what happened:Yesterday, my pc was running fine. I turned it on at 10am and it was running well. My sister ordered a new router so I set it up for her (AirPort Extreme). I installed the utility for it, was a simple setup for me. After that, I connect to it wirelessly and I see that windows update has a few security updates. They install as I turn off the pc. I then turn it back on a few hrs later and notice that when it reaches the login screen, it takes a few secs for it to load. This is unusual being that the days before it was always ready to receive input. So I login, get the welcome screen, and my desktop screen. Taskbar loads as usual, however I can't get anything to show up when I click on it. I think at first that its Comodo (is in training mode) so I close it out. Still nothing. I then press ctrl+alt+delete. Nothing. I then press it rapidly to see what happens. After a few mins, my screen turns black. A message then shows up that ctrl+alt+delete has been pressed but due to something that it won't show up. Had to press either the power button or esc to leave the screen. Safe mode works. I do a system restore back to when the windows update and to the installation of the router. I scanned and haven't found anything yet. Today, my pc looks like its running fine but its still taking a few secs on the login screen and the desktop still idles. I'm going to contact HP to see what they can do but I wanted a second opinion.

I have a win application that performs some long calculation, and since it's single threaded it doesn't refresh the window in the process. I was wondering why show desktop won't work because of that? I mean I know the answer, show desktop sends a minimize commands to all the windows, and this app won't respond.

The BIOS sees both hard drives and the CD and DVD drive and the Windows Device Manager shows the extra hard drive and both optical drives. When I click the folder in the task bar (Libraries) I can only see "C" drive and no optical drives either. When I click on the CD drive I get the right menues for it, but it does not work at all. If I put a CD in the drive it locks up the system and I have to power off the computer before I can eject it.

I had installed windows 7 32 bit and it had compatibility issue with my Thomson Speedtouch since it doesnt have windows 7 driver I found a tweaked one online and was using it and it worked fine. Suddenly it stopped working and I formatted and reinstalled windows 7 but I was not able to connect the net. The message is always no valid IP configuration. I tried even with a router but the message is the same. So I installed XP on the other partition and I have no problem connecting to the net. Now I want to format the other partition and reinstall windows 7 but I am not able to format the partition from XP or with the installation CD for windows 7.With XP the format fails and with the installation DVD it always goes into BSD.What to do? On startup the previous installation of windows 7 doesnt even show up and goes directly into XP?!
