We have just added our first Windows 7 pc to our XP network. I would like to connect to the Windows 7 PC to a shared "Epson lq-590" printer on one of the XP machines.According to the Epson website the only drivers available for this printer are through Windows 7 update in the "add a printer wizard". If the printer is directly attached to the Windows 7 PC the driver installation via "add a printer wizard" works without a hitch. When trying to add the printer over the network the Windows 7 "add a printer wizard" cannot find the driver for the printe
I have installed Win 7 a while ago and today needed to print to my upstairs printer. My printer is a HP Deskjest 340 and it is connected to an iMac. I have all comps networked together so when i click add a printer my HP shows up as connected to my mac, no problem there. When i select the printer it starts to install a driver for it but a message comes up that says "No driver found" it asks me if i want to search for a driver on my comp but i don't have one to begin with. So basically I'm stuck. i have been to HPs website about there drivers and such and they don't have any drivers for Vista, they say the comp will look and find one for you while it did properly.
Windows 7 recognizes the printer but has a yellow triangle exclamation point. it will not print, but I cannot find any printer driver for Windows 7. any ideas?
Answer:-
Are yere any more details on what is the matter with the printer in device manager?
You should be able to download the Windows Vista drivers for that printer from here, which should be compatible with Windows 7:
New windows 7 Home Premium desktop that can print when the printer is directly connected but can't print when the printer is connected to an XP pro pc. It can see it but we're getting a "driver cannot be found on the network" flag.
having moved once and having add and removed computers from my home network, along with other changes, I now have a cluttered Printer Selection Window, by which I mean the window that pops up when I want to print a document. I have five versions of a Brother printer and four versions of an HP printer, and only one of each is actually good. How do I clean up that window by getting rid of those obsolete references that no longer work? It's ridiculous that they don't simply disappear when I select one of them as the default.
I bought a new wireless Epson Workforce 545 printer. It has worked without flow for quite some time (nearly a year). Now all the suddenly it wont print.I have it as a shared printer. There are three other family members on the network and all three others print without any problem. Mine worked fine and now wont print. It goes through the motions and then times out. All it says is "printer error".
I use Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. My problem is: Whenever I try to print something (word, pdf, or any other file); printer spooler stops working and when I check the Devices and Printers all the printer drivers seem to be disappeared. I checked the Print Spooler" in the Services tool; and set the "Recovery after subsequent failures" option to Restart the Serviceā. Therefore all the printer drives coma back after 1 minute. However the spooler stops immediately again when the uncompleted printing job starts; hence I can not print anything more than a page. Earlier in this forum, someone posted that Microsoft issued a hotfix for this problem ( hotfix 2388142) which can be downloaded from article: [URL]. I downloaded this hotfix and tried to install, however it gives an error message of: The update is not applicable to your computer and quits installation. I did uninstall and reinstall all the printer drives, but this did not help either.
I have 2 computers on my home network. My desktop is running Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and I have a kodak 5500 Aio connected to it. I also have a laptop that's running windows 7 home premium 64 bit that connects wireless. I was able to print until today and now I can't print from the laptop. I can see the printer in the add printer window but comes up with cannot connect with error of 0x0000000d

I was just given a Epson Stylus Pro 7000 wide format printer and was wondering how would I set this up as a network printer. Epson stopped updating it's drivers and does not offer a driver for W7 and I've tried in vain to load VPN XP mode without success. I am using an older laptop to drive the printer but it's painfully slow.
I put a new win7pro pc on line. I want to connect to a brother printer on the network connected to a xp pro sp3 machine. I can see it in active dir. but comes back .inf file not found. I tried local install \\machinename\printername,I downloaded drivers six ways from Sunday,I tried everything I could find to try.It either comes back cannot find network or .inf not found.

I just installed 7 and am trying to get all my stuff up and running. One thing still missing, is a NEC P30 that's connected to my 2003 Server and shared. Windows Update won't find any drivers, how could I go about to use that printer (though it's just an old dot matrix printer, I badly need it.
I'm looking into purchasing a new printer. However, the one I am interested in only has up to wireless G. I'm just looking for some opinions. Do you believe I'd be better off with one that has wireless N?
Originally, i had one network running under a Dir-665 router where all the computers under that could connect to the printer (HPPrintPC) on the computer (which is connected to the router. After moving to uverse, i have two networks, the one above and now the 2wire network due to uverse. The computer with the printer is connected to the 2wire network, and all the other computers are connected to the Dir-655 network. The computers on the Dir-655 Network can't connect to the printer on the 2wire network but can ping the computer it is connected to.
I am connected to a network through a router and the printer I use is connected directly to another computer. On initial boot up my computer shows the printer under "devices and printers" and I can print. However over time, the printer disappears from "devices and printers" and the only thing I can do is re-boot to get the printer back. How do I stop the computer from loosing the printer?
I have installed a HP office jet 6700 on my network my laptop Windows 7 X 32 can see the printer and print. However when I tried to install the printer on my wife's laptop I cannot get it to connect at all. The printer can be seen on the network however why I try to print nothing goes to queue. I have check spooler service and it is on.We use to have an old HP photosmart but it stopped working. I bought a HP5510 and had the same problem now I have same issue with the HP6700 and off course HP support cannot explain why this is happening.
I have a wired desktop and a wireless netbook. Both have 7 Ultimate. I set up HomeGroup on my desktop and my netbook can see & access my shared folders.
I also have a couple of printers. The one I want to be able to access is a wired HP Laserjet 4000. It's old, but built like a tank and has 64MB of RAM and a Jet Direct card. I have it plugged into a Cisco router. When I added the printer I chose "Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer". It locates the printer and assigns an IP address. As long as my desktop is on I can print to it from my netbook.
The problem is that I want to be able to print to the printer without having my desktop on like any small network. I should be able to since it has it's own IP address. It is on the correct port and everything in HomeGroup is working except printing while the desktop is off. I hesitate to install the massive Jet Direct software but I will if this will solve the problem.
I am very tired after staying up way too late doing a clean install of Ultimate on my desktop and reinstalling apps & arranging everything. I am thinking it has to be something simple I am overlooking ATM as I am not clear headed on 3 hours of sleep.
Trying to install an HP 2100 tn printer through a Linksys router to a Win 7 62 Pro machine. Win 7 drivers for Asus MB, Marvell Card and latest firmware for Linksys router.
Tried Win 7 printer installation routines a jillion times...and it couldn't find the printer (power cycled router and printer several times). Used HP latest network diagnostic but it can't find the printer. Used latest PCL 5, 6 and PS drivers from HP - nothing. Used netsniffer with HP diagnostic and it looks like the diagnostic sees the printer (reports the correct i.p. address) but doesn't identify it as a printer.
Went back to XP where the printer works and found it is currently working with IPX protocol.
Anyone have any ideas? I don't want to buy a new printer, or stick with XP.
We use a HP932c printer as our network printer but no other computers on our network can see it. Everything is set for sharing on Windows 7 and on the other computers which are running XP and Vista. Anyone have a clue why I cannot get the other computers to see the network printer. Also Windows 7's network map doesn't see any of the other computers on our network. When our dual boot computer(Vista/Windows 7) is in Vista mode all is fine but when I boot into Windows 7 it doen't see the other computers and visa versa..
I used an epson workforce 600 on a prior network. I changed providers and have created a new network. I cannot get the network to see the printer when I run the software. I am using windows 7.

It recognizes the Epson and works fine with that. How do I get it to see and use the Canon printer (I think it used to work with it).
