Printed Text Too Small?

View 2 RepliesI have been using Thunderbird for my e-mail account. Somehow, Thunderbird was updated to 10.0. Now my e-mail texts are so small that I can barely read them. I downloaded an application that allowed me to increase the size of the fonts in the listing. However, the messages are still small. I tried setting the options to a larger font but that did not work. Two questions: Is there some way to increase the size of the text in both the email list and the messages. Two, can I just remove the new version and download an earlier version of Thunderbird. I don't know what version I was using, but I was perfectly satisfied with it.

I have windows7 and my monitor is 23.5" Samsung. Everything else is ok just the very small text is driving me mad.

I've just down loaded another one and it is similar. Could this be some sort of formatting problem? XL customer files were really bad but I finally got on top of that by formatting.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI set up a homegroup password and am on the "View and print your homegroup password" window. When I click on Print this Page, I get the following message:
Title bar: Your homegroup password couldn't be printed.
Text: An error occurred while Windows was trying to print your homegroup password. (Error code: 214750037)
The printer is an HP Laserjet 1200, connected directly to this computer via USB. The printer works fine otherwise; no print problems. Tried some of the troubleshooting tools, but they found nothing wrong.
I have a number of pre-printed forms with many blank spaces to be filled in. Rather than completing them all by hand, I would like to scan them into some software, like MS Word, then fill them in on the computer and then print them. I have Windows 7 Ultimate and an Epson Photo R200 printer.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThree days ago when I tried to print from the web and then WORD there was no installed printer. I checked and the printer was still installed but when printing a document the print screen said their was no printer installed. I checked and the print spooler was not working. So I downloaded the Microsoft toolMicrosoftFixit.Printing.Run.exe. I ran it and presto the printer worked but only once and when I went to print again, again the print box showed that there was no printer installed. So I have to run the Microsoft.Fixit.printing.run.exe tool every time I want to print a page then restart the computer. A royal pain and time waster.
Something is turning the spooler off and not allowing individual programs to see the installed printer and therefore reports that there is no installed printer.2nd issue. this is a new laptop (ACER) and there is no LED light to show "Caps Lock". I did find a setting that flashes the screen and makes an audible beep. However, my wife has the exact same computer and hers has a 2" x 2" box appear each time she puts cap Lock on. Which is way less distracting than audible beeps and flashing screens. Is there a setting for this? I have not found one in the Microsoft website for Windows 7.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm helping to develop a web application that uses iframes. On the main page (outside of all frames), we have a div that we use to display and print forms. We also have 2 nested iframes; the innermost iframe contains the main page content. When printing, we use extensive CSS and Javascript (contained in the outermost window) to hide everything except the print div. When I use File > Print Preview, it always displays the correct preview; that is, the outermost window which contains the print div. Printing from the Print Preview works as it should. However, when I use File > Print, it seems to print whatever window has focus, not the entire page (outermost window). Therefore my print div doesn't get printed and all I get is a printout of whatever is currently onscreen. Why doesn't the print out from File > Print match what is shown in the print preview?
A related issue occurs when using JavaScript's window.print(). When I call window.print from within the print div, it prints as it should. But when I call parent.parent.window.print() from within the double-nested iframe, IE still only prints the window that has focus, not the outermost window (as shown by "parent.parent."). And since they just clicked on a button in the innermost frame, the innermost frame has focus, my print div doesn't print and all I get is a printout of whatever is currently onscreen. I have been using "parent.parent" for all other Javascript calls from the nested iframe to the outermost, so I know that's not the problem.
My temporary solution is to focus on the outermost frame when the users mouses out of the nested window (ie, when they mouse up to the file menu) Code: window.onmouseout = parent.parent.window.focus(); and focus on the outermost frame when the user clicks the print button that is within the nested frame. I would really rather not do this focusing, especially on mouseout, because it seems to cause some issues when the user pulls up another application.I have also tried using the onbeforeprint event to focus. The onbeforeprint was triggered, but I couldn't get the focusing to work correctly.I haven't been able to find anything regarding these problems online; has anybody had similar problems?
Ok this is wierd I have a client using Office 2007 pro and some of her docs that she recently updated and the problem is when she prints the docs text that she deleted is printing over the top of new text she inserted into the doc.
Now when you have said doc open in WORD the deleted text is not there in any view and does NOT show in "print preview".
I opened said doc with WORDPAD and the deleted text shows up at the bottom so its still in the word doc somewhere imbedded so it prints over the top of the actual text in the doc.
I have a project where I need to search a large amount of text files on my home PC. I recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7. My research indicated this feature was available in Windows 7.
If you do a search in Windows XP, you get a bunch of fields. You can pick to search for text INSIDE the particular sub folder structure.
I have found this feature in Windows 7, but it is different. I have tried using wild cards but it does not seem to work properly.
How do I insert my pictures inside the text or beside the text so it won't use so much space?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of the sudden, when I want to copy and paste something in the same document, the formatted text (whether that be a certain font or bold) does not transfer over to the pasted text. For instance, if I wanted to copy the following bolded word word and then paste it anywhere else in the document, I now get this: word (without the bold). This applies to other cutting and pasting problems: this applies to other fonts and formatting (bold, my Greek font, etc). One more example: before today, if I wanted to cut a text out of my New Testament Greek program right in the middle of a paragraph, the Greek font (or whatever font) would paste normally no matter what font the target MS Word text was in.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI installed Win 7RC 32 onto a 160 GB hard disk which I partitioned. I allocated about 25 GB to C: system, and formatted the rest on to a D: drive for data. I've found that this may have been a mistake, as getting program installations to default over to D: are problematic (and not recommended by Microsoft, as per some previous threads I've read here).
And so I am running out of C space, and have several programs "manually" installed over to D. Quite frankly this is a pain, and I am about ready to throw in the towel and just try to extend the C drive. But maybe there is a way to avoid?
My question is this: what's my best approach to correct all this? Specifically, I'd like (if it is possible) for all my libraries/directories to default to D: so that I can readily reinstall Windows 7 (or downgrade) the C: System drive should it become necessary. This was my original goal and hope. I was able to have this with XP, although that was some time ago and I forgot the steps.
Anyone have an good suggestions for me, or should I just extend C: and give up this idea?
I ran into a small problem (not sure if its windows related at all).
I have a new monitor and resolution set to 1920x1080 but when I set a window, any browser or windows window, I miss about 50px on each side.
I'm always bothered with one thing. That when i write another name rather than Removable Disk, EVERYTHING STAYS IN CAPITAL LETTER.
How can i write in small letters , like Alex instead of ALEX.
I have just mounted a Samsung solid state drive 830 series in my Sony Vaio VGN-SZ laptop and have installed Windows 7 Home Premium. The screen size is too small. Maximum resolution obtainable is 1024x768. How can I increase the screen size?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently bought a new computer, pre-loaded with windows 7. I hate it! It seems to me the most stupid retrograde step Microsoft has ever made. After the simplicity of Win XP Microsoft seems to have taken steps to hide everything they can and make it as difficult as possible for the user to comprehend it and....;. Why oh why have they made everything so small. I usually sit about 500mm from the monitor. Now I am getting a stiff neck peering closely to read simple print. Is there any way I can make it all bigger, as I can with Word and I.e?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am not sure if this is in the correct section of the forums, so apologies if it isnt! I have a GTX 660ti. When plugged into my 1080p television, it works perfectly. However, when I plug in my 17" dell flatpanel, it says "not supported" across the screen. Is my GPU too advanced for me to use a small monitor? I have tried changing my resolution much lower, then turning the pc off, then plugging in the 17", still not supported. Is there something I have to do in bios?
