OK,I turn it on...lights flash on the key I see the big E symbol hear the normal beep and then It just stops...and a lil blinker in the top right corner of screen..SEEMS ONLY the F12 key works..no F8,10.....I tried a new monitor..same thing
View 4 RepliesThe only way I can get my computer to start is to cut, then restore power.Then I get the beep, and the Windows introduction graphics start showing up.Then the machine abruptly shuts down and the green led blinks 3 sec on, 3 sec off. The next time I cut and restore power,I may get a screen that offers to "restore". That option may or may not work.If it does work, the computer finally boots and acts normally.Or I might get a screen giving me the option to repair or start normally.Choosing to start normally usually works.What do I need to do?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy PC since a week has started freezing randomly one or twice a day. All the windows stay open, the mouse does not move,. Even Ctrl+Alt+Delete does not work; CAPS Lock light does not get toggled. Sometimes it happens after just 10 mins of startup, sometimes after a few hours. It has always happened under normal usage, ie. no games/Photoshop/3ds Max running. Just Firefox running or sometimes even while no app running. Once it happened while I was scanning a picture, and the scanning head (the light-tube) of the scanner also froze midway.

I ran memtest86 for 3 passes (1 hour +) and it showed 0 errors. My installation is 1 year old. I've ran disk cleanup to clear temp files and stuff, and I've got 20 out of 90 GB free in my C: Drive (Win 7 partition) and 200 out of ~850GB on my secondary partition. The last program I had installed is LogMeIn Hamachi which I have uninstalled, but the PC froze once again after the uninstallation! I also got my PC case internals and especially the CPU heatsink fan (without detaching the fan/heatsink) cleaned.. but I'm not getting any CPU overtemp error anyways.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm running Outlook 2010 with about 5 separate POP 3 accounts. I archive regularly and compact after archiving. After a lot of trouble cloning a new C drive to an SSD, Outlook, along with a lot of other software, began acting strangely. Everything has pretty much been resolved except for the Outlook problem.
For no reason I can isolate, Outlook will suddenly close, giving the message that it had to close and it will now try to retrieve my data. It does so, unless I was in the middle of composing an email - that will be gone! Sometimes, instead of closing, it freezes and says application not responding.
I checked the disk for errors using scan now and it's fine. I've run memtest and it's fine. I've run in safe mode and it just shut down with no comments. In working my way through suggestions on this board, I just ran Sysinternals Process Explorer until the error occurred and went back to normal. In looking at Process Explorer, I'm afraid the actual data is overwhelming to me. However, I'll attach everything I have.

I have a Compaq 615 running Windows 7. Recently, I have heard a beeping sound that isnt too disimiliar to the BIOS beeps on start up. However, this can be heard when the OS is running.
There is no set pattern to the beeps. It can occasionally be 2-3 beeps very close together but is mostly just one beep. It is starting to worry me a little.
Here are a list of things I've done to try and resolve already:
Remove an USB devices that have been plugged in Clean the keyboard with compressed air incase this was caused by a stuck key Ran system check Cleaned up the C-Drive Ran a HDD check from booting up Checked eventvwr

First of all i have an ASUS P6X58D Premium motherboard and three days ago updated to 24GB of Ram.Suddenly while i was relaxing on my pc a few hours ago, a beeping sound that lasted for about 1-2 seconds started coming from the speakers. So I shut down the laptop using the power button. Then onwards, every time I start/restart it beeps numerous times and then the HP logo is seen, then it beeps numerous times again and then asks "Choose operating system". I click windows 7 on that screen and then it starts and works fine. I have started and restarted, and the number of beep codes are numerous and dont have an exact count every time. On one start it might be 11 beeps and on another it might be 8 beeps. I am on HP G70 120, and I am on Windows 7 32 Bit. The only operating system I am using is Windows 7.

I also noticed that during my computers normal booting up process there was no "beep" like the computer normally gives as to loads windows 7.
So when I turn on my pc my monitor says there is no signal. My monitor is hooked up to my graphics card instead of the mother board. (I have yet to find the cord that plugs into the mother board, I've misplaced it.) Every time I start it up, it starts in "Windows Boot Manager" and makes me select Windows 7 as my operating system. That's annoying in it's self (why won't it just start on it's own! It's not like I'm running another operation system as well!) but what's even worse, as the text is appearing on the screen, a loud obnoxious beep sounds with each word that appears! I checked to make sure no keys are stuck, so it's not that. Once I choose Windows 7, I'm able to sign in with no problem.

Initially I suspected it was a bad PSU, so had it RMAd, however same problem exists. It should be providing plenty of power to the mobo and other devices being a 500W, however I read on other forums the particular model has tendancies to automatically shutdown at PEAK LOAD. Its a OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W. This is darn annoying if it is and may still be the problem. It might be another software or hardware issue though.
