Starts In Windows 7 Boot Manager And LOUD Continuous Beep Sounds?

Dec 26, 2011

I just got a beautiful new laptop for Christmas (HP Pavilion g7 1260ca). Every time I start it up, it starts in "Windows Boot Manager" and makes me select Windows 7 as my operating system. That's annoying in it's self (why won't it just start on it's own! It's not like I'm running another operation system as well!) but what's even worse, as the text is appearing on the screen, a loud obnoxious beep sounds with each word that appears! I checked to make sure no keys are stuck, so it's not that. Once I choose Windows 7, I'm able to sign in with no problem.

Continuous Beeping Noises After I Select The OS From The Boot Manager?

Aug 15, 2011

My laptop [Toshiba Satellite A305-S6905 (got it in 2007)] has been just recently, as in about a week ago, been constantly booting to the Boot Manager upon startup (actually, it literally started happening after I (thought) I removed a virus/trojan/malware from that cursed Farmville on FB spam). It's never done this before. I now have to select "Windows 7 Professional (Recovered)" even though it's the only option there. This laptop was upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 about 1.5 years ago. I understand from some other posts I've read that the Boot Manager popping up is supposedly a "good thing",.
A
lso about a week ago, I've noticed continuous beeping noises after I select the OS from the Boot Manager and am taken to the "Starting Windows" screen. There are no pauses, there are no short/long beep combos..it's simply continuous beep, beep, beeps and they're never ending until I power off the laptop. Again, none of this started happening until a week ago, and up until then, everything was fine.I've cleaned out the fan units with compressed air, and any dirt/dust. I've been told to try to use an Ultimate Boot CD, but for some reason, my laptop won't boot from a CD (again, something I've never had an issue with before this).I've tried to run the Windows Memory Diagnostic and upon the automatic restarting,I get a black screen and the same loud beeping--no boot manager, no "Starting Windows"..just black screen and beeping.

Loud, Annoying Continuous Beeping Sound After Bios?

Aug 11, 2011

This is a annoying loud continuous beeping sound. This happens after the boot diagnostics, at the point where windows should boot up. There is a cursor in the upper right corner, and that is all it does. This is a HP Pavilion Elite m9040n PC. It came with Windows Vista, and I am upgrading to Windows 7. I stupidly didn't run upgrade advisor, and am now regretting it.When I go to HP to find drivers, no Windows 7 drivers show up for this PC. Stupidly, again, I assumed this meant that they were packaged in with Windows 7.I don't think this is a hardware issue. It happens repeatedly at boot up, but when I put the installation CD in, the PC boots off the CD just fine. This probably doesn't eliminate any hard drive issues, but the PC wasn't showing any signs before, and the installation goes through without a hitch. Is this caused by not having compatible drivers? Are there computers that can't be upgraded? I do meet the minimum requirements. 2.4 Ghz, 3 GB Ram. What may I be missing?

Windows 7 X64 Freezes With Loud Popping / Buzzing Sounds

Oct 18, 2011

My Dell Studio 1558 freezes since I tried to reinstall the Windows 7 64 Ultimate a few weeks ago. And within the past few days it has frozen and made a scratching noise when I watch some online videos or webinars.

It tells me that I have USB devices that are not working and says under Device Manager Other Systems that: "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28). There is no driver selected for the device information set or element. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."

But when I try to update the driver it says: "Windows was unable to install your Base System Device. Windows could not find the driver software for your device. If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for drivers software."

Well. It's Dell. And when I run a dell pc check it tells me that everything is fine.

Getting Continuous Long Beeping Sounds Lately

Jan 4, 2011

I need help regarding my PC. I've been getting continuous long beeping sounds lately. It seems to happen everytime I press multiple keys in my keyboard at the same time, which of course is unavoidable when you're playing games. Now everytime it happens, my keyboard wouldn't work properly, or sometimes it wouldn't work at all. Unplugging the keyboard doesn't stop the beeping, but it goes back to normal everytime the beeping stops. And I also noticed that my speaker produces low rumbling sounds everytime it happens.

Windows 7 Boot Manager Screen At Start Up - Never Starts Installation

Jan 12, 2012

I have tried at least 5 times installing the OS by using Recovery DVD's that I order from HP. I am able to boot from the DVD's and go through the process of Inserting Disc 1, Disc 2, and Disc 3. Once the setup is complete, I am prompted to Click Continue so that the system can restart the computer and continue the windows 7 Installation. It never even starts the installation. It gives me the following screen:

Windows Boot Manager. Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: Insert Your Windows installation disc and restart your computer. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next." Click "Repair your computer." If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

Status: 0xc000000f
Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.
ENTER = Continue
ESC = Exit

If I press Enter I am greeted by another Windows Boot Manager screen.... that says "Choose an operating system to start, or press TAB to select a tool".

Troubleshooting I have done:
- I have tried to install the OS in different ways. i.e. with a formatted HDD, re-installing over error msg, swapped hard drives.
- I also inserted the "Windows 7 Repair disk" (I made the disk from my other windows 7 machine that is also 64-bit)

From there I boot it up, and it detects start up problems and tells me to click restart to fix issues. I restart and cross my fingers to only end up disappointed by the screen above. I have also checked and I do have boot from notebook HDD as my primary boot up device.

Getting Startup Beep And Windows Starts, Then Stops And Green Led Blinks 3 Sec On, 3 Sec Off ?

Mar 1, 2012

The only way I can get my computer to start is to cut, then restore power. Then I get the beep, and the Windows introduction graphics start showing up.Then the machine abruptly shuts down and the green led blinks 3 sec on, 3 sec off. The next time I cut and restore power,I may get a screen that offers to "restore". That option may or may not work.If it does work, the computer finally boots and acts normally.Or I might get a screen giving me the option to repair or start normally.Choosing to start normally usually works. What do I need to do?

Laptop Stuck In A Continuous Boot?

Apr 12, 2012

1. i had a problem with google that redirected me to advertisements whenever I searched.

2. i booted the computer into safe mode and ran malwarebytes and bitdefender to scan my computer and i just let the programs do their thing.

3. upon restarting my computer after the scan my laptop was stuck in a continuous loop.

4. i tried every setting after pressing f8 such as safe mode, safe mode with networking, etc. and everytime i can't get past the boot up.

5. finally i try "disable automatic restart on system failure" and then it leads me to the BSOD and it says

STOP: c0000135 The program can't start because %hs is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem I saw several posts about this but a few of the answers scared me by saying something to the effect of "this will only work with this user, don't try it with your computer" Just to reiterate i can't even get into safe mode and so have no clue how i'm going to follow your procedures. i also misplaced all discs that my laptop came with edit. I have a Dell Inspiron N5010?

Windows 7 When Trying To Boot Into Safe Mode, Starts Normally

Jan 12, 2012

I access the safe mode boot menu by pressing f8 during start up. Once there I choose boot in safe mode, hit enter and then windows lists the drivers it is booting with. The boot continues, however once done, the computer is not in safe mode, but is in normal operating mode (i.e. there are no "safe mode" indications at the perimeter of the screen, and all apps are up and running as usual).

I am not trying to fix any problem, I just wanted to be sure safe mode was there in case I needed it. A couple of days ago I actually had a piece of malware that disabled my Avast anti-virus and was preventing me from accessing the internet, and at that time I tried to boot into safe mode and had the same problem. I restored the computer with an image I had taken when the machine was new, which resolved the malware problem, but not the safe boot problem.

Incidentally, I have looked at the registry and the safe boot entries are intact:
(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSafeBoot is there along with it's subkeys Mininal and Network).

I am using Avast anti virus (paid version), Libre Office, Skype, Firefox and have a HP office jet 4500 printer. The machine is an ASUS U43F with an I5 processor.

Failing To Boot Windows / System Recovery Always Starts

May 18, 2011

2 Days ago my desktop running windows 7 ultimate 64- bits suddenly crashed, showing nothing but a black screen a bit less than a minute after starting up a game. A few seconds later my computer automatically rebooted and the repair tool launched. After it was done I took a look at the report and all it could find that was broken was ci.dll, the same as in previously mentioned topic. I ran CHKDSK and scf /scannow after that, but they couldnt fix anything or find any bad sectors. I could not boot windows unless i disabled driver signing as well, however I never get any BSOD's. My system is also a bit slower as well, but not that slow. After looking at the previously mentioned topic i downloaded FRTS64 and ran it as well, I've attached the log. (No, I did not run the code that you warned not to use on a different system and on a different machine )I'm also experiencing the same browser issues. When i enter an invalid URL I'm being forwarded to the url... website, my ISP. Also the first two times I tried to open my browser nothing happened. I waited about 15 seconds, tried again and then it opened.

I think it might be a virus as well, im using P2P a lot as well though i havent downloaded anything weird in a long while. My last 100-ish downloads (all fansubs for 2 anime series) have all come from the same site which i trust. however i did recently download a patch for a game, but that came from a site that is also used very frequently, and i havent heard of anything similar from friends/friendly gamers who downloaded the same patch.

PC Starts To Boot Then Shuts Down?

Jun 15, 2012

I have an eMachines T5254 that has Windows 7 Home Premium on it, upgraded from Vista.

We recently located our home computers, modem and router to another room. I reconnected everything with the same cables, and it came on fine. After an automatic Systems Update it did not come back on, and now when I try to boot from either the Boot Manager or Advanced Boot Screen, at every option it loads files and then, before or during the time when the lights and logo start to appear, it turns off. I do not have the recovery disk, and in any case my DVD-RW has not worked for about a year.

I have a new DVD-RW which I am going to install, but I am uncertain if that will solve the problem. Is there any way to get to a Command prompt without Windows booting up, and at least access the hard drive that way, or am I up the well known tributary with inadequate means of propulsion?

Computer Only Starts In Safe Mode - Reselect Boot Device

Oct 7, 2012

I have an ASUS laptop, yesterday i left it alone for a few hours and I came back to a message saying "reselect boot device" I was able to get past that, I am not sure how but I did. Now today if I try to run my laptop in regular start up it freezes about 5 minutes later and then goes to blue screen. I can run my laptop in safe mode and safe mode with networking fine. I do not have any restore points (wasn't aware that windows 7 didn't automatically create restore points) so I can't restore back to a previous version. I can get a boot log and a cbs log. I don't know if its a hardware problem (I dropped my laptop two days ago about a foot and a half and it landed flat, no dents or anything. It worked fine after that) or if its a virus problem. I recently downloaded a new album (same day I dropped my laptop) but it worked fine after that as well.

How To Use Windows 7 Boot Manager ?

I have a system running XP. I partitioned my drive in half and installed Windows 7. I tried to start XP again and messed it up. I think it's trying to use XPs boot manager. Do I need to re-install 7 to use it's boot manager?

I can't have that happening to my main system. Is this normal? Did I do something wrong? Will it happen to Vista?

Compressed Boot Manager In Windows 7

when we compress the disk space entirely by going to my computer --> right click on the c: drive icon ---> properties ---> compress disk drive, the compression utility in win 7 accidently may compress the boot manager files that include the file bootsect.bak and the boot folder also . when the computer is restarted the machine hangs up and says "boot manager is compressed " and shuts down .at the prompt type notepad (since the recovery option boots from a seperate wim image it has notepad built into it ) press ctrl + o which invokes the open file dialog go to the open file field (ALT+N) and type c:oot and also see for the c:ootmgr file. right click it and deselect the option of "compress files to save disk space" when we apply the boot manager is again decompressed. also if someone finds this harder we can directly deselect the compression option by reversing the process used to compress the drive thats it . we are done
