View 1 RepliesThinking of next computer. I'm married to Outlook 2002, including on my Droid phone. I hear Outlook is not compatible with Win 7.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is a known issue is there a way to resolve it
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just looked at a thread where a person complained that there is a known incompatibility between Win 7 and Outlook 2002, namely that Outlook would not save passwords in the Win7 environment. Microsoft has offered no solutions and the tenor of most of the replies was that the complainer should just quit whining and upgrade. The software was purchased and the purchaser should have every expectation to be able use it, especially within a monopoly OS. The problem is that Microsoft doesn't support their software and actively (criminally?) plans their obsolescence so that people will be forced to upgrade. This is mere to pad their profits and does not serve the society in which they operate as an exclusive franchise. If a software company stops supporting their software, then they should be forced by statute to open the source code.Any arguments against this are purely fatuous They may claim that they are protecting source code, but if this is so, then the new upgrade is just a minor adjustment and not a substantive upgrade to the code. Minor changes to inventions are not worthy of patent protection under patent law. They can't have it both ways.Their attempt to force upgrades whenever they introduce a new OS cries out for protection under anti-trust laws.Microsoft does not have the authority or the right to pad their profits by planning obsolescence into systems that they monopolize. If they don't want to support old software then let them turn this task over to competitors. This is the meaning of patent law, to allow innovations that serve the interest of society. This is an industry that is out of control and needs fixing. Their control of the OS places a huge and unnecessary cost burden on the middle class throughout the world. This is a drag on the entire economy and adversely impacts our society in numerous ways.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to trouble shoot my boss' laptop. We have tried to set him up on Windows Live to use while he is at home and on the road. We have a server and it is setup/configured on his laptop correctly as it works EVERYWHERE else besides his home. I am guessing it is a Firewall or Router Setting issue. Since I don't go to his home, I am unable to trouble shoot it there - His family has an IPAD an ITOUUCH a personal computer and another laptop and they all send and receive mail fine. It is just my boss' laptop - Windows 7 - Home Edition - 64bit - Dell. Thinking maybe I need to change the port # in the settings on Microsoft Live. BTW - we do have him set up to use the Exchange by logging into our IP - but he just cannot seem to get the hang of doing that - even though i have everything shortcutted and instructions on the desktop...Also have had him just use Log Me In - and he doesn't like the small screen..

After pressing "send/receive" pretty often my Outlook 2010 stops responding, blue ring is spinning and if I click anyplace I'm getting "fog" over screen. When I want to close program, Outlook offers to find fix or restart or shut off, if I choose fix it is searching and after while is restarting program. I have talked to Microsoft techs, they checked, everything was fine, and suggested to restart Outlook if it will happen again. I do not think this is the way how Outlook 2010 should work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed Office 2013 and decided to give the updated Outlook a fair try. I'm coming from using Thunderbird as my main e-mail program.
I have 10 gmail IMAP accounts setup in Outlook, using to be what I believe are the default settings (I haven't changed anything in any of the accounts). I am not working offline, and I have Outlook set to send/receive every 10 minutes.
In Thunderbird, anytime a new e-mail message is received, it is automatically downloaded and I get an alert sound.
However with Outlook, in order for the e-mail to be downloaded, I have to click on the Inbox of the respective e-mail account in order for it to be automatically downloaded.
This isn't an e-mail account problem because I immediately receive new e-mails via IMAP in Thunderbird and on my phone.
when I click Send/Receive in Outlook 2007 it fails and I get an Error message - 0x80040600. I've tried running the Repair Tool in SCANPST.EXE but this doesn't help, it states that all errors have been fixed, but then I still get the error message. I'm not running Exchange.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Outlook 2010 to process several email accounts. I noticed a few days ago that a couple of the email accounts had vanished from the list. I also noticed that one still present was not sending or receiving. I tried re-entering the password and when that didn't work I deleted and re-entered the account. It tests fine but the test message never shows up in my Outlook inbox. It does show up immediately on my phone when I check my mail there.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded Outlook hotmail connector from the official download website, and installed it to try, and explored it , it was working fine! After that I deleted the account and reconstructed it using pop3 conf., but didn't like the idea of no status update reflect to the webmail , inally decided to use the IMAP Configuration to have the features of the connector which I tried First,I deleted the pop3 account to return back to the connector configuration, the config. done successfully, but when outlook start it fail to pass the receive process , and produce the following errors:x8004102A , x80041050 after restarting the outlook and trying again send/receive, the receive process comes to no end. until errors appear or cancelling it.I just noticed that it restored the contacts, drafts and the folder structure on of my account from the first ever imap account which I created ( and deleted ) at the beginning .By the way I deleted the first imap account fromoutlook and from the C:UsersXuserAppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlook ,,,,

It doesn't stay on the outbox, it stays on the sent items. All the recipients doest receive the mail. And i'm having <rx> Mail queued for delivery. on outlook log.I tried it with another computer with same setup, same email account, same email, same recipients and number of recipients. 1 BCC entry went through and was received ok and i was also able to send with 3 or more BCC entry and email was received properly.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI try to print an email from outlook, and it just goes into a wait loop. The circle spins, and the title bar says outlook is "not responding" - I'll say! I've tried copying the e-mail and pasting it into Word. That works, but when I try to print, I get the same "not responding" situation. I've tried this with a couple of different e-mails, but the problem is the same. This is a new failure in Outllok (and Word). The only thing I've tried is rebooting my PC which didn't help. I would use the Office self-fix, but I can't find it in the 2010 edition.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with Windows 7 search when searching for emails:
1)When searching for an outlook email in the "instant search" bar in Outlook, the results are as expected (many results are displayed for the search term)
2) However, when searching from a search box using the exact same term as in #1 above, (e.g. when using "option F"), no results are displayed.
My understanding is that both of these search methods utilize the same index, application, etc...so this is perplexing. In looking at Indexing Options, it appears to be completely indexed. I have tried to rebuild the index several times with the same results.
Just installed Windows 7 And I'm looking around for an answer on how to import my emails and address book.I was on XP and Made the Backup of my Address Contact File and also the Outlook Express Folder.
