Outlook 2010 Stops Responding After Pressing Send / Receive Running Windows 7
Oct 22, 2011
After pressing "send/receive" pretty often my Outlook 2010 stops responding, blue ring is spinning and if I click anyplace I'm getting "fog" over screen. When I want to close program, Outlook offers to find fix or restart or shut off, if I choose fix it is searching and after while is restarting program. I have talked to Microsoft techs, they checked, everything was fine, and suggested to restart Outlook if it will happen again. I do not think this is the way how Outlook 2010 should work.
I use Outlook 2010 to process several email accounts. I noticed a few days ago that a couple of the email accounts had vanished from the list. I also noticed that one still present was not sending or receiving. I tried re-entering the password and when that didn't work I deleted and re-entered the account. It tests fine but the test message never shows up in my Outlook inbox. It does show up immediately on my phone when I check my mail there.
I'm running Outlook 2010 with about 5 separate POP 3 accounts. I archive regularly and compact after archiving. After a lot of trouble cloning a new C drive to an SSD, Outlook, along with a lot of other software, began acting strangely. Everything has pretty much been resolved except for the Outlook problem.
For no reason I can isolate, Outlook will suddenly close, giving the message that it had to close and it will now try to retrieve my data. It does so, unless I was in the middle of composing an email - that will be gone! Sometimes, instead of closing, it freezes and says application not responding.
I checked the disk for errors using scan now and it's fine. I've run memtest and it's fine. I've run in safe mode and it just shut down with no comments. In working my way through suggestions on this board, I just ran Sysinternals Process Explorer until the error occurred and went back to normal. In looking at Process Explorer, I'm afraid the actual data is overwhelming to me. However, I'll attach everything I have.
My glitch is I am also trying to install Office 2007 on my NEW win 7 machine. It installs fine and everythiung looks right except that I can't use the "Send/Receive" function. I set up the mail box and even tested it within the set up wizzard. I worked fine, but I can't send or receive in the Ofice application. I get an error mesage: "An error occured. An object could not be found. I reinstalled Office a few times and nothing is missing. Does this maybe have something to do with having the Office 2010 starter app that came with the machine on the machine but its not installed/activated. What module does "Send/Receive "use so I can search for it and install it if missing.?
I installed Microsoft Office 2010 but what is send/receive? Does that mean if I click on it. The emails in my draft will be sent? Or I just receive the latest emails into my account?
I have problem with my outlook ; newly when i start my outlook it start to send /receive so it crash during receiving & my outlook will close & this circle will continue so please attend to the error
when I click Send/Receive in Outlook 2007 it fails and I get an Error message - 0x80040600. I've tried running the Repair Tool in SCANPST.EXE but this doesn't help, it states that all errors have been fixed, but then I still get the error message. I'm not running Exchange.
I just downloaded Outlook hotmail connector from the official download website, and installed it to try, and explored it , it was working fine! After that I deleted the account and reconstructed it using pop3 conf., but didn't like the idea of no status update reflect to the webmail , inally decided to use the IMAP Configuration to have the features of the connector which I tried First,I deleted the pop3 account to return back to the connector configuration, the config. done successfully, but when outlook start it fail to pass the receive process , and produce the following errors:x8004102A , x80041050 after restarting the outlook and trying again send/receive, the receive process comes to no end. until errors appear or cancelling it.I just noticed that it restored the contacts, drafts and the folder structure on of my account from the first ever imap account which I created ( and deleted ) at the beginning .By the way I deleted the first imap account fromoutlook and from the C:UsersXuserAppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlook ,,,,
Outlook won't send emails. I get "sending reported error (ox8004010f): The operation failed. An object could not be found." I see other has had the same issue
I've searched the forum and while i've seen similar issues going on none of the other troubleshoot techniques seem to do the trick for me. I linked out look to a domain email address I have and I am able to receive emails with no issue. When I send emails it actually shows "inbox(1)" then moves into the sent mail folder but it never arrives at the destination.
Quote: With Microsoft Outlook 2010, you can stay connected beyond just e-mail messages. Sending and receiving text messages (SMS) in Microsoft Outlook 2010 is a convenient way to send a quick note to say you are running late, a reminder to a co-worker, or just to say Happy New Year!
With text messaging in Outlook 2010, you can also forward your upcoming Outlook schedule or important e-mail messages directly to your mobile device as a text message a great way to stay connected when you are on the go. Getting Started
There are two ways to set up text messaging in Outlook 2010. The easiest way is with a Windows phone running 6.1 with an update or 6.5, and connected to a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 account. With this setup, your text messages are synchronized from Outlook to your mobile device for sending. As an added bonus, messages that you receive are synchronized back to Outlook for easy reading in your Inbox.
If you dont have a Windows phone or an Exchange 2010 account, you can still configure text messaging in Outlook 2010 by signing up for a third-party service that sends text messages on your behalf. These services charge a nominal fee for message delivery, but there is a free trial period so you can try it out before you subscribe. Although the use of a third-party messaging service requires more initial setup, after connected, you can then send texts from the convenience of your computer. No longer will you be hunched over a tiny phone trying to add all of those addresses from your phone book just to say Be there in 10.

When I'm at work outlook 2010 will send e-mails without any problems. When I go home after work and try to send an e-mail, they go straight to the outbox folder. They won't send until I'm back at work the following day.

over ther past couple of weeks i have been having a problem with IE when some web pages would not open. after refreshing the pages, they would eventually come up. a problem i could live with. i was also having a problem with my thumb drives. it seems i was able to open them on my laptop, but when i went to another computer, they would not open some of the files on them. on another desktop, as soon as i plugged int the thumb drive, it showed there was a virus on them. so i threw the thumb drives out. i installed a new thumb drive, and decided to do a Norton scan, and also a MSE scan on the thumb drive. the Norton showed W32.silyFDC, and the MSE came back with 4 trojons(i should have writen them down). i cleared up the virus on both. when i started my compter this moring and opened up IE, Norton webpage opened(yahoo is my default) and said that my default homepage was ereased. i now also notice on my desktop 2 icons of "desktop.ini". also when i run malwarebytes after about 4 mins or so, it freezes up "not responding" and i have to close it out.i did a full norton run on my computer this morning and it came back clean. but i suspect that there is something still going on that MBAM stops running after 4 mins.
I am running office professional 2010 and in outlook 2010 I have various email accounts.lets say email1@btconnect.com and email2@btconnect.com etc etc All accounts are from the same server and all have worked fine since setting them up.I have all the account inboxes listed top left of the screen under favorites and just click on the desired account to see todays emailsRecently email1@btconnect.com causes outlook to "not responding" as soon as I click on the account.
I am trying to trouble shoot my boss' laptop. We have tried to set him up on Windows Live to use while he is at home and on the road. We have a server and it is setup/configured on his laptop correctly as it works EVERYWHERE else besides his home. I am guessing it is a Firewall or Router Setting issue. Since I don't go to his home, I am unable to trouble shoot it there - His family has an IPAD an ITOUUCH a personal computer and another laptop and they all send and receive mail fine. It is just my boss' laptop - Windows 7 - Home Edition - 64bit - Dell. Thinking maybe I need to change the port # in the settings on Microsoft Live. BTW - we do have him set up to use the Exchange by logging into our IP - but he just cannot seem to get the hang of doing that - even though i have everything shortcutted and instructions on the desktop...Also have had him just use Log Me In - and he doesn't like the small screen..
I can receive mail but not send. I have gone to my email client to get the settings. They even took control of my computer and did the setup and it still won't send mail.
Just upgraded to 7 x64. Previously when checking mail in Outlook Express, the send/receive dialog box would automatically pop up to show you the progress of your email downloads. Live Mail doesn't do this unless you specifically hit the Send/Receive button.
I know there's the small message in the status bar at right, but I've always liked the way OE just popped the box for you. Is there a way to make this happen in Live Mail?

I've been having problems with Windows Live Mail for the last few days. Beginning yesterday, I can no longer connect to my msn account via WLM. If I go directly through hotmail, I can sign in and all is well. I tried reconfiguring my WLM for the msn account, but that didn't work. Here's the error message I get:Unable to send or receive messages for the Msn (xxxxxxxx) account. we were unable to sign you in to Windows Live ID at this time. Please try again later.
Server Error: 0x80048820 Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80048820
This problem just started today and I am a bit confused when I try to get my email on WLM I get the above error. I am going through my ISP and using POP3 the POP setting is pop.midstatesd.net and smtp.midstatesd.net all of the setting are correct so not sure why I am getting the error. I should mention that I am connecting using a laptop with a Dlink router and do not have any issues connecting to the internet. I am unable to ping the pop.midstatesd.net so figured something was set wrong on the router but cannot find any thing that would be blocking it there.
I recently installed windows 7 home premium on my HP G62 notebook PC. When I click on the start menu it shows bluetooth file transfer. When I click that it does says send and receive file but never scans. I tried installing drivers from the HP website. But it does not show on device manager or anywhere.
