No OS Being Found After Startup And Repairs

i have windows 7 64 bit. it would get to the "Starting Windows" screen with the little pulsing logo and then freeze there forever. after forcing a shutdown once or twice it began attempting repairs. it would run checkdisk and find corrupted file and delete them. this happened several times at boot up. often it would freeze after this and not let me enter repair screen. so i loaded up the win 7 disk and tried to repair it from the disk. lo and behold it is not finding an installed copy of win 7. does this mean my os is gone? corrupted? could my hard drive have failed? i dont think its the memory but i have not been able to see the memcheck results since i cant boot up. is there anything i can do or must i reinstall windows. i dont want to loose all my files but do i have any other option?

I was told second hand by her that it was after a windows update install). I attempted startup repair multiple times with no real outcome until i swapped over my main os hdd and was then able to run startup repair on her hdd. From that point on I was able to run win 7 from either drive rather succesfully until the next day. I receieved a text message from the wife while I was at work stating windows updated again and startup was not possible ( thus again i have no idea what update it was). since that point I have been unable to even run startup repair.

This is my first custom built computer. I've had the same similar problem for the past year. I have continuous problems starting up and BSOD. My computer will not start up properly at times. It also seems like this problem happens if my computer is off, not in sleep mode, for longer than 24 hours. It involves several restarts. I've checked my hard drive and memory for bad sectors and not found anything. I've run both the memtest and the windows memory test several times and found no problems.There was one post I found on a seperate site that talked about ASRock m/b having problem with Ram voltage so I've manually changed the BIOS to be the voltage required for the Ram. Seemed like it fixed it temporarily but quickly started getting more BSOD.Recently updated AMD drivers and was completely unable to get into Windows. When I restored the system to before the AMD updates I was able to get into Windows.

I have a hp mini 110 and just recently did updates, installed AVG and iTunes along with other programs and shut down but when I powered up again I get a message from American Megatrends asking ,e to press F1 to run a setup of so,e kind which leads me to a never ending loop of system repair over and over again every time I power up.I have my window 7 disk and even with that I can't seem to bring it to the desk top screen.

what the best way to validate the security of the system is.I managed to disable and remove the main gist of this guy using MSconfig and tracking down the exe, but one lasting point of concern for me is the rundll32.exe file.That was what this particular virus was using to activate - it was passing a parameter to rundll32.exe in the following manner: rundll32. exe, wsdwsdwsdwsd.exe Now, I have triple scanned the infected computer with Avast, Avast Boot scan, and Malware bytes. At this point, they are all coming up negative for infected files, but again, that rundll32.exe file strikes me as off. I arbitrarily tried passing it a similar .exe file path parameter to something harmless, to no avail, so I'm wondering if the file was compromised. I would like to get rid of this infection entirely, but I want to know if anyone has suggestions as to the best way to verify file integrity.If it is compromised, any suggestions on how to replace it with a legitimate rundll32.exe? It's on a commercial laptop, but I do have a W7 OEM disk lying around.

The other day i started it up but it was stuck on starting windows so i tried restarting it and it put me in startup repair so i left it on for about 8 hours and it was stuck on the sam screen not changing at all so i turned it of and i just turned it back on about 2 hours ago and its doing the same thing. my HD has 1TB and it is a toshiba im not sure what model or whatever but can someone plz help do i wait for it 2 finish or do i get a new HD. and im sorry 4 any spelling mistakes.

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-NW270F 15" laptop with Windows 7 (64 bit) Home Premium. 320 gb. Oh i'm also out of warranty.Computer always freezes at the point where it says "starting windows" and stays frozen. I even left it for alone for 24 hrs and it stayed on that screen.
Things I've tried:
1. I used safe mode to repair windows = just restarted in normal mode and froze at "windows is starting"
2. Used safe mode to restore to earlier point = could not to restore message
3. Created repair disc from another Vaio win 64 = froze at "windows is starting"
4. Used registry clean and malware bytes in safe mode = malware bytes found nothing & reg clean did nothing
5. Fresh install of windows 7 = windows bar loaded then froze at "windows is starting"
6. Reformatted hard drive & performed fresh install = windows bar loaded 7 froze at same point
7. Bought new Western digital 320 gb SATA Hard drive & tried install of win 7= same results

as usual I turned off my laptop and after a while a turned on again to use my laptop but it couldn't reach operating system and showed error : " OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND" !
I tried all instructions to solve the problem and finally run by windows start up CD to re-install new windows. this time I faced error: " No drivers were found. click load driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation"

i used to get the BSOD very often so i decided to recover the system to the initial state . i did that and everything was fine , then i updated the windows 7 service pack 1 and finished the installation and rebooted my computer , the start-up at least took half an hour at that time and the service pack 1 installation showed "not successful " i tried to again to update the service pack1 which showed 73.6mb - 892.6mb so i updated it again and again the same thing happened.

I have a Dell Inspiron and a while ago I shut down my PC and the next morning I was faced with options to repair my computer. It hung on the screen for ages before it actually came up with startup repair and supposedly fixed the problem. A few days later, everything got very slow and started to freeze a lot and before long, booting the computer got very slow as well as it hung for about ten minutes on a black screen after the 'welcome' screen before finally starting up. I decided to reinstall the operating system (I did NOT reformat the C drive), so I borrowed my Grandma's external hard drive and copied my files. After reinstalling using a Dell Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium Re-Installation DVD, I copied and deleted the files off the external hard drive onto my PC (I didn't know it would create a Windows.old folder) and started installing programs. Then I left it overnight to install quite a big program. This morning, somehow it had turned off. I turned it on and it gave me the safe mode options and a 'start windows normally' option. I chose the latter and after typing my password it hung on the welcome screen again. I left it for ages and it just went back to the user login screen again. I pressed the red button in the corner to shut it down but it just hung once again on an empty screen so I did a hard shutdown (held down the power button). I turned it on again...startup repair. It gave me the option for system restore, which I did (then realising when it finished that I hadn't made a backup). I booted it, and again it wouldn't start properly. At this time, safe mode booted fine. After trying various things (even using a compressed air can to get rid of dust) and a few hard shutdowns, suddenly every option from the advanced boot menu took me to startup repair except 'Repair your Computer' which gave the normal options for repair (although now it only gives me 2, Startup Repair and DataSafe Restore and Emergency Backup. Now when I do startup repair, some times it says it has fixed the problem, and sometimes it says it cannot be fixed automatically and gives me information on the problem (a few things it said were: 'StartupRepairOffline', 'AutoFailover' and 'CorruptRegistry').
I can't reinstall my computer because then I would lose my precious files.
Is there some way I can save my files and reinstall or even just save my files somehow or am I screwed?

My hp dv3t has been giving a message about checking a disk for consistency every time I reboot(ed) for about a week now, but today it froze after the countdown reaches zero (for bypassing the procedure)�nothing I do can get it past this step. What do I do? I tried booting from Safe Mode, it listed a bunch of drivers but then froze.I'm using W7 64-bit Home Premium.

Trying to disable some of the bloatware that came with my HP G62, as well as disable unneeded auto-updates, and have been blocked from doing so.Ran msconfig, startup entries... Unchecked, hit "apply" and they just become checked again. (Ran as administrator on admin account)Tried "Tuneup Utilities." Same effect.Have been trying to disable Yahoo Messenger from starting and it just keeps on starting.I have unchecked the startup box in the pref dialog of the prog.Is my admin account not really admin? (No other accounts on the computer)

Clicking on the Administrator gives me a desktop with an on-screen keyboard; the computer keyboard disabled, and a panel saying,"FAILED, The application has failed to start." Going back and clicking on the Standard User icon gets me running for the most part. Here's the BIG problem. Every time I try to install any program, the User Account Control box drops down and asks for the Administrator Password, plus the question,"Do you want to allow the following programs to make changes to your computer?" You click "Yes", but, since no one is in the Administrator office, your installation comes to a halt. This blocks "Install" and "Uninstall". I get lots of messages I need Adobe Flash Player. I've trie over and again to install it, going to Windows 32 bit, but can't uninstall my previous tries. It will always download, and that's all. I've tried to install my digital camera's CD, but can't.

the Startup screen. So I went to the Startup repair tool as was recommended, but after few tries nothing has changed. So I tried to recover to previous recovery point, but also nothing. Then I tried booting to Safe mode, and I saw that during the loading process there was no file shown as succesfully loaded. I might also know what could be the cause of this problem, because yesterday when I was shutting Win down, there was a blackout so obviusly some files are corrupted.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
I have CPU-Z, Hardware Monitor Pro and Resource Monitor shortcuts in the startup folder.
If I go to MSCONFIG I can see that the items are there to be started during startup.
What am I doing wrong that will not allow these programs to start up?

I hate it when this happens and so far, the startup repair has always been able to fix the problem. Today, I'm not so lucky.
I'm using my other built right now coz I have to work. I don't remember what updates I did last night but I do remember the dvd drive firmware was updated.I popped in the system restore disc, start it up and the same page appears: Start with windows start up or Start windows normally. Tried both and neither one of them would bring up system restore. This built was only a month old and was hardly used so far so no system restore point was created at this point. I have files in it that I would like to keep but I can't get to them right now so a clean fresh install is needed but I can't get it up.

Intel Pentium P6200.I get an email from a website I have belonged to for many years, & when I click on the link it says waiting on website, then web site not found. There is a information link to click on and it says to check the web address and A DNS and the web address might be wrong.I can move over to my wife's PC access my account click on the email link without any problems. well the problem is i went to my friend today after a long night trying to fix the problem from the first thread which didnt work and everything was okay since then, thats the last time i touched the computer and when i was at my friend's house i wanted to download an mp3 and didnt figure out why it downloads it perfectly but then i saw on the firefox download statusbar "file size: file not found" so i checked my desktop and found the file which was named like it should be only at the end was ".part" which as i know is the temp file being downloaded. i tried changing its name to .mp3 and it didnt work, i also tried refreshing the desktop which made the file disappear! now im at my home again and i tried to download it again assuming my friend's router was maybe malfunctioning but the same thing happens now at my place.what is wrong with my new computer?!i googled the problem and found out that memtest would let me see if my ram is the problem. i downloaded memtest which doesnt work on my win 7 coz its 64 bit and memtest doesnt support it at all.

i am currently using a windows 7 hp laptop, But for some odd reason when i plug in my RCR microphone it will just not work.Yes i can hear everything fine but instead of capturing my voice through the RCR mic. It instead captures it through the laptop mic. Whenever i unplug the rcr mic then the laptop mic will stop being in use. When i plug in my RCR mic it uses the laptop mic and when i unplug the mic its doesnt use the laptop mic anymore.i also cheaked the recording deviced could not find my mic, just the computers.

My hard drive recently died in my laptop. I have had it replaced and downloaded Windows 7 iso from Microsoft Dreamspark (as i am a student) and burned it to a CD.
