Newly Repaired PC Won't Boot Windows 7

Dec 4, 2011

I recently had a Gateway LX6810 repaired. The system board, NVidia card and power supply were replaced. It is a 64bit machine. I downloaded a new version of Windows 7 from Microsoft to another PC, then copied each of the 3 files to CD. The Gateway does go through the normal boot process and the drive priority is DVD as first boot. When The drive spins all I get is the white cursor in the upper left corner.

Random BSODs On Newly Repaired Pc

May 7, 2011

I've just gotten my pc back after basicly everything got replaced, due to being in a building where there was a fire. Since it came back, I've started to have BSOD issues, which pop up randomly while playing games or doing other things. I already ran a Memtest overnight. It ran for 10 hours and came out with 0 errors.I've tried to attach everything stated in the Post New Thread-thread. If I missed anything, please let me know.

Windows 7 Newly Built Computer Won't Boot Past Logo Sometimes

Feb 23, 2012

Alright I am running Windows 7 ultimate x64 on my newly built computer. My computer can successfully boot past the bios and get to the logo screen. Then I get to the Windows logo which is a hit or miss. Sometimes it will boot successfully and I will have no problems whatsoever and I can enjoy my computer without worrying about anything. Then sometimes it will get hung on the logo and it will just stop responding. I don't know if this is an issue with my HDD or maybe my power supply. I think that this may be a problem with my power supply because I notice that my keyboard LED turns of when it hangs like that. The only question then is "why is this not a consistent problem that I can isolate?"

Here are my specs:
Case: Coolermaster HAF 922
CPU: Core i7 3930k (3.2 ghz stock; will OC to 4)
Motherboard: x79 Asrock Extreme 4 (x5 sata 6.0 Gb, x2 usb 3.0 ports, PCI-e 3.0 support, and quad-channel memory)
RAM: 8 gigs (2x4 gig's) of 1600 DDR3
GPU: x1 Radeon 6870
PSU: 600 Watts
HDD: 500 gig's 7200 RPM (Seagate baracuda)
Cooling: closed loop liquid cooling, Tuniq TX-2 High Performance Thermal Compound, and the standard fans on the case
Optical drive: LG 12x Blu-Ray reader and DVD combo drive
Monitor: 22" LED 1920x1080 -- ASUS VS228H-P (21.5 viewable)

Operating System Crashing On Boot Up - Newly Built Machine

Feb 23, 2012

Last night, I built my first desktop machine. Most of my components were brand new, but I kept my old hard drive.(Which contained my Windows Home Premium 64 bit OS on it.)

When I finally went to power it up for the first time, it booted up normally, and then when it goes to the black screen with the colors swirling together to make the windows logo, right away it quickly flashed to a blue screen and then restarted.

I then went into the repair windows mode, but the automatic repairs failed. They left me with these details:

Problem Signature 01: 6.1.7600.16385
Problem Signature 02: 6.1.7600.16385
Problem Signature 03: unknown
Problem Signature 04: 21200924
Problem Signature 05: Autofailover
Problem Signature 06: 3
Problem Signature 07: No Root Cause
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033

The hard drive with the operating sytem was working fine for me yesterday in my old machine. So I am assuming it has to be a problem with the new hardware, or I failed to connect something, or i need to change a setting.

Desktop Repaired With New Hardware

Jan 21, 2013

Gets be busy, as with many tabs, two browsers, and several other programs running, when the monitor would go black. Not gray, but black as if it had no power. It would last usually around 15 seconds, occasionally till I did a cold boot. When it came back from a 15 second episode, sometimes colors were strange and or parts of the screen remained black. It acted like my ancient '98 had when out of resources. But that was rare --usually it just came back and we kept going. I contacted HP and they tried some diagnostics (as in, they controlled my cursor), with no trouble apparent. The told me I'd have to mail it to them. Knowing they usually format the hard-drive, and seeing this as a lot of trouble, I insisted they send a tech.

Install P2P Driver And Do Upgrade - System Cannot Be Repaired Automatically

Nov 26, 2012

I recently bought a dell latitude E6410 laptop running windows 7 ultimate. A few days ago it started playing up, at first I thought I had a virus of some sort as my protection had run out, so I downloaded another protection plan and ran a test which came back clean. Then a message came up up from windows saying that I needed to install a "P2P driver" and do a upgrade. So I downloaded the driver and did the upgrade which seemed to work. The next day I started up and it went straight to the start up repair, which came back saying my system cant be repaired automatically. I can get as far as the system recovery options. I tried a "system restore" and that didn't work, and a "windows memory diagnostic" and still nothing. I haven't done a back up disc or have any other discs so I'm pretty much stuck in a loop now. I've been looking into the "system image recovery" but have no idea what that means or what to do.

Encountering This On A Newly Reformatted Windows 7 PC

Mar 11, 2012

I would like to consult here this problems which I have been encountering lately.Firstly, here's my PC specs:

board: ASUS P5PKL AM SE
cpu: Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93ghz
ram: 2x2gb Kingston ddr2 800mhz (newly bought)
gpu: Radeon hd 6570 1gb ddr3 (newly bought)
psu: generic 600w (newly bought)
hdd: Seagate 1TB - os installed here (newly bought)
Seagate 2TB - (as backup for files)

I successfully installed windows 7, after that I installed first an anti virus, I was a previous ESET user, but upon looking at reviews I settled with Comodo Internet security. I then installed Tuneup Utilities 2012, then other various programs, firefox,Idm, my huge archive of old games.I noticed that there would appear on the screen some distortions/blurry lines/runny lines from time to time. If I would try to reset the settings on the monitor itself, the lines would either get worse or simply reduce. I also tried to change the resolution in the AMD Catalyst control manager, and in the screen resolution setting, but it doesn't permanently solve my problem. I tried changing the refresh rate, but to no avail. What's also wierd is that these "lines/distortions" only appear when I am on the desktop and doing simple tasks like browsing the web, playing windowed games like scrabble, pinball, etc. but whenever I would play full games like Stronghold, Red Alert 3, Need for Speed, etc. there seems to be no signs of the lines or distortions that are occurring. Sometimes these lines/distortions would occur on the borderlines of a window, sometimes on a specific side of the screen.. right now as I'm writing this there seems to be no distortions, (current setting is 60hz refresh rate) but when I change it to 75, the distortions would appear again. What seems to be the problem? Hardware or software? The video card has updated drivers, I tried doing system restores, I tried uninstalling the gpu driver and reinstalling again, removing the vga cord,(I can't reformat again since my dvd drive's condition is getting worse, I was only lucky that my Windows 7 install was successful.)

I am worried when I try install the windows 7 os on the new build it wont work because when i put the disc in my laptop the auto run comes up and says run setup.exe, but as far as I know that is a file that is associated with windows (and the new pc wont have an OS yet) Is that file just for upgrade purposes? because on the disc there are also many other files and folders.Does that mean I will be able to install the OS on my new system from the BIOS menu or will i have to install the old xp OS and then upgrade

BSOD On Newly Built Windows 7 Computer

Nov 6, 2011

So I recently put together a computer for a friend of mine. We booted it up, and everything seemed to be fine. Unfortunately, he has been having intermittent BSOD crashes, often when installing new software (though not always). We've tried reinstalling Windows 7 (64 bit) several times, and I've had him run various RAM and hard drive diagnostics, which have (so far) not indicated any issues. My suspicions are beginning to point towards the motherboard or power supply, but honestly I'm pretty inexperienced when it comes to analyzing dumps. I've attached the relevant dump files. I don't have a full list of hardware directly at my disposal, but if necessary I can have him run a dxdiag tomorrow.

Slow Performance On Newly Installed Windows 7?

Aug 31, 2012

I have a laptop that has been upgraded to Windows 7 from vista. In the beginning everything was fine and things worked really fast. However, for past few months I have had dreadful performance. Whenever I check my CPU is at 100% and it takes ages to do anything. Even opening a chrome tab takes 5 minutes. I tried doing driver checks to confirm nothing was wrong. After trying hard, I just re-installed Windows 7 but no luck. Then I formatted my hard disk and installed windows 7 again. Now it works fine but I do get the extreme slowness sometimes. While doing all of this, one thing I noticed that if I was to put my laptop to sleep and bring back it might start working absolutely fine. Before reformatting it worked 50% of times. Now again it has worked whenever I tried. I wonder if this is a CPU power setting issue? I have already set the power settings to have full performance

64bit Computer Cant Be Repaired By 64bit Windows

My computer got the BootMGR is missing problem, which I have had in the past which is not that big. I insert the Windows 7 64 Ultimate disk it starts up everything fine, press repair my computer and it finds the installation. But when I press on it and next it has an error pop up saying "This version of system recovery options is not conpattble with the version of windows you are trying to repair. Try using a recovery disc that i compatible with this version of Windows." If I dont select anything but press next it allows me to look at the screen Im supposed to, but if I go to command prompt or click autmatically repair nothing will be saved or changed. This is the same disc I installed Windows with and repaired it several times. But I did have to reset BIOS earlier so this may have affected something.

Newly Created User Accounts Can't Login To Windows 7

Sep 16, 2011

seen lots of threads about this error message but not in this context so I'm thinking I might get some joy from you oracle like marvels.

A customer I saw today had a family Windows 7 PC with four user profiles on it. All worked apart from one called Hannah. When selected it started to load but then just showed "The user profile service failed to logon. user profile cannot be loaded"

the account was hardly used (Hannah is 9) so we decided to delete it and make a new one with a different name. For some reason the exact same thing happened!

Reading up on this people say to open regedit and go to HKEYLOCAL MACHINE>software>microsoft>windowsnt>currentversion>profilelist. All the profiles for the three working profiles were there but the profile for Hannah or the new profile I made wasnt present.

Newly Installed Windows 7 Running Slow On Strong PC

Mar 22, 2012

I've just installed fresh Win 7 ultimate x64 via USB. Right from the start it was working really slow but it just got worse.

My hardware is decent: Intel i7 CPU, 12GB RAM, WD Caviar 500GB system HDD. Task Manager shows that only 13% of RAM is being used and 0% of CPU. Still, I can barely work on it - it keeps freezing everytime I click on more than one window...

Once I had to do a hard restart since it didn't want to shutdown normally, and then I got startup failure screen. Startup repair didn't do anything but it still managed to boot somehow.

I tried to optimize win process but that didn't do anything either.

I believe it might be the HDD, since I ran Win normally on other HDD with same hardware... But I did use current one as backup storage without a problem.

Newly Built Computer - Windows Backup Won't See Hard Drives

Nov 23, 2012

I have built many computers but am having a little bit of a problem with some things and my new one. My new install went great. All programs installed without a hitch. Fast and furious is the way it went to get everything installed. Now, after a week or so I have started having a couple glitches. When I go to install a new program or update it the program just sits there for 4 or 5 minutes before doing anything and then finally starts to do its thing. The other issue is that I am trying to do a backup and image clone to get my new system backed up. The problem there is that the windows backup won't see my hard drives. I then tried Norton Ghost and the same thing happened. What is causing this?
