This issue is bugging me for some time.Does anyone know how to stop mouse keys from starting on their own on startup?This happens since I first used them on this pc.I did try turning them off before logging off,but it didn't work.It's not something serious,but the icon confuses me.
View 2 RepliesI have a HP dv6000 with a 4 GB RAM and Intel Core2 Duo @ 1.50 GHz processor. I have Windows 7 Ultimate, 32 bit operating system.
Sometimes the laptop gets stuck and then none of the keys or the mouse works. Yesterday I was watching a movie and the same thing happened but the movie didn't stop.
Today morning the laptop wasn't booting and then later I took out the battery and reinserted it and it worked. Are these two problems somehow related?
whenever i delay before clicking, the settings on my win7 decide for me, such as delete, etc. This is dangerous. View 4 Replies View RelatedI use the Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse v2.0 with my Samsung Laptop and the USB port disconnects and reconnects the mouse often. This makes it tough to use the mouse with my computer.
I connected my phone onto the same port for syncing and didn't have issues. Could this be a problem with the mouse (2 months old) or the laptop (4 months old)?
PS. I have unchecked Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power for all the ports, but the problem still persists.

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I have a NETGEAR wn111 V2 usb dongle to connect the Internet. I've installed the driver and I can connect. But on startup it doesn't automatically connect to the Internet. I have to manually do it. And yes, the option to automatically connect is checked. Even after a reinstallation of windows, I keep having the same problem. In Ubuntu it worked on startup.

Anyone know of a way or tool maybe that prevents this from happening so I can feel like I am actually in control of my windows box?

And I only have 3 programs to run at start up my AV, audio driver, and some intel rapid storage program.
I have a toshiba laptop that runs windows 7 32bit home premium and it is not booting properly. When I turn it on t will show the microsoft logo and says "starting windows" but never gets past that point. I have tried all the fixes to no avail including, safe mode (will not boot into safe mode..starts to load but stops at drivers/atipcie.sys and sits there for a minute or two and goes to the repair startup recommended screen. I have tried startup repair and done it many times because I have read it can take several times (it says "startup repair cannot repair this computer automatically") I have tried the windows repair disc using system restore but it says no restore points found, even though i know they are on my computer. All of my school files are on this computer and while I have some of there backed up on a external hard drive there are some more recent files that are not. What can I try without a clean install to try and repair this?

I have Thunderbird which checks all my email addresses at startup but it says "cannot connect" so i started to check out my wireless. My wireless says it has "limited access" to my network, says it is "not connected" and when I check the wireless status, it would say that it isn't connected to the IPv4 and IPv6, all while being connected for "00:01:30+"
Then after several minutes, it would just start identifying and connect to the network/internet real fast out of nowhere. My wireless is a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network connection
Also, I have a VMware to run Ubuntu which bridges the internet to go online, if this helps. (I cannot uninstall since it took me 4 weeks to get it running)
My laptop has been running extremely slowly lately. It takes longer than usual to load regular programs and any web browser activity takes ages. I have run malware (Malwarebytes) and virus scans (Microsoft Security Essentials) and removed some items. Malwarebytes didn't detect much, but I found a trojan with Security Essentials. However, after removal my problems persist. I have scanned and attempted recovery of bad sectors. Issues were found and fixed, but a disk check was said to be necessary. I tried running chkdsk c: /F, but the disk check cancelled within a fraction of a second on startup.

I made a mistake by downloading a windows something ware to boot up security. It then crash...so I went to task manager didnt work, which i then went to search and entered msconfig. I then chose safe mode in minimal services. It then says loading files. U see a black screen with thite letters of the files being loaded. Then u see ur mouse cursor, and then it boots up again and same process. So I tried launch startup repair, it launches a repair, but it says it startup cannot repair this computer automactically. I then result into going to tapping f8..it goes to the screen of advanced options. Problem is if i try safe mode it will crash. I dont have a backup, and i dont want to lose my movies of over 700 gigs.

However since I have installed it, windows is taking a long time to show the desktop when booting. It says Welcome for a while, then a black screen and finally the desktop is shown.Is there a way to set showing the desktop the number 1 priority ?

I want to know is it possible that if User A logons on, VPC X gets fired automatically, if User B logons, VPC Z gets fired?

When I say �turn off� I mean, either turn off the computer or send it to a low energy consumption state like hibernation or sleep� Basically I know how to automatically turn off the computer and turn it on once per day using the BIOS setup, but I don�t know how to do this several times in a day automatically and then call the macro every time�

View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday I got this virus, I went and bought trend micro titanium and cleaned it up (was using a free30 day trial of something else) but I'm still having a problem. Whenever I go to shut down or restart my computer, it starts doing it like normal, but right at the end I get this blue screen with a bunch of messages written, it last about 5 seconds while a countdown happens at the bottom of the screen, then it restarts (even if I went Shutdown).
Sometimes minutes after I log back into the user, the blue screen comes up out of nowhere, does it's 5 second odd countdown and restarts. I should get minidump files. The countdown at the bottom of the blue screen is called "crash dump" or something like that. With the virus whenever I tried to open an internet explorer or google chrome window, all that would come up was "win 7 home security", I'm not getting that anymore though after doing the full scan with trend.
Additional info: I have windows 7, my pc is a HP Pavilion laptop, model number is DV6 - 2144TX
I have a new monitor, and also a new USB to RS 2343 converter cable that both came with a CD that apparently has Drivers for the devices on them.
They don't start automatically in auto-play to load, and my reading of the file labels in the CD makes no sense to me.
So, with the CD in the drive just sitting there, what do I do to actually get the PC to recognize the Drivers in the Folder(s), and load them in the appropriate places ?
Why do some devices (mainly external disc drives) automatically open autoplay whilst some I have to open "my computer" and select "open autoplay.And some automatically start playing my selected autoplay option!

I have a USB monitor hooked to the system and it does not turn on until Windows loads. but if I hard reset by accident or some other reason I can't see the screen that asks what you want to do, this only can be seen when vga/dvi is connected. I know there is a timer for the start normally, but wanted to know if there was a way to make windows not even have to ask and just know to start normally?

View 4 Replies View RelatedOver the night I turn off my Windows 7 computer. Some mornings, when I turn it on, the pc boots normally but the cursor is frozen on the desktop. The mouse itself is lighten up and seems ready to be used. That happens at random and force me to reboot once or twice to get it working. There is no virus. The mouse is a Logitech using a Windows 7 driver.

It really would be nice to know which driver. Can I blindly assume this to be mouse/keyboard related and that in lieu of deleting a driver I can simply install the latest Logitech drivers?
Please understand that my Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit w/SP1 is installed on a new Intel X25M SSD so I am not real eager to wipe the SSD and do a reinstall of Win 7 w/out SP1 (as I have been advised elsewhere)
The mouse is slow to start up after first power up and login. Is there a way alter the start up to activate the mouse asap. The mouse is a Microsoft basic optical usb. I have it pluged in to a usb powered bus. The laptop has only 2 usb plugs and one is in use by the usb bus and the other by another device which will only work when not plugged in to a bus.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've bought an MSI 990XA-GD55 3 weeks ago. I've formatted my hdd, installed a clean x64 ultimate, installed newest drivers and updated the bios. However, there began some problems at startup about my mouse. Randomly, lets say, in every 7-8 Boots, my computer doesnt recognise my mouse, saying that "device could not be installed" or something like that, you know, the default "usb device error".. And i must either re-plug it, or restart the computer..I've changed the ports, re-done everyting, but no chance..It happens randomly, just before "Welcome" screen appears, the light of the mouse fades away, and after Welcome screen, cursor does not move.Thinking that it would be a mo'bo issue, i've changed it with a better model MSI 990FXA-GD65.Another format, another install of the newest things, bios update..However, shit happens again!I've got a A4 X7 XL-750BK mouse, which is kinda new and doesnt have (and had) any problem except this one. Some say, that i should change it; but i'm really confused about it, because it runs just fine and smooth.
