Im having problem with MSE turning it self off and not responding to the turn on button on the program and freezing my pc . it doesnt happen all the time but is becoming more of a problem can anyone help ?

I suspect it might be an ssd problem because when it won't turn on there is minimal activity with the hard disc LED light.I've also disabled sleep, hybrid sleep and the page file thingie. I had this problem once before just after my change from 32 bit to 64 bit OS. Win 7 Pro 64 bit. I researched and after much digging I found the answer. However , as with any fresh install , upgrades abound and recently , the same problem reared its ugly head once again. The problem is , I cant seem to locate the solution this time ! I seem to remember a driver or a hotfix or just a particular ms upgrade.

Last week, my desktop computer had the "blue screen of death" and it sort of fixed itself and rebooted, and it seemed to be working again. However, in the past 2 days, everytime I turn on the computer, and then when the desktop pops up, and I click the start menu button, the whole desktop freezes and I can't click anywhere else. I tried going on safe mode and do a system restore, but the choices of time to reset my computer was still after the blue screen of death.It's really frustrating, because I can't turn my computer off properly anymore cause it just freezes, I can't backup my files, because it's frozen, and I can't backup in safe mode.

1. When i turn on my PC (use power button)
2. It's on then go to dual boot menu then I press enter on windows 7
3. Then, the normal boot appear (windows logo with "starting windows" text)
4. After that, the screen goes blank, just black screen without cursor
my vga and ram is ok, I already use the latest driver for my vga card I can start my win xp normally (my dual boot is win 7 and win xp) I can start my win 7 with safe mode and low resolution I also can start my win 7 normally after I force restart my PC with reset button?

My computer was working fine until I downloaded the windows service pack 1. First it was every now & then but soon my computer was freezing up ( not responding ) and it was impossible to even complete a document. This happens in all applications. I noticed with each new window update the worse my computer got. Still under warranty I spent hours on the phone with DELL twice, finally I did a fresh re-install of windows 7 professional. After the fresh install everything was fine. UNTIL I downloaded the windows updates, it started to 'not respond' again. I uninstalled the updates. The not responding issue is gone but I am concerned about windows security updates. Do I need them? I have contacted windows about this issue many times over the past several months with no response.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor the past couple of days my computer has been freezing every time I open a new program or go to click on something. Using itunes is especially problematic because i will be listening to music and every thirty seconds the music will stop and continue, etc. I use Avast! free for protection and I have done every scan without them finding a virus, however they do get a couple of files they cannot scan and each time they are different files. I am not very tech savvy so I have no clue how to go about searching for the fix, however while searching through google i did find a lot of people had this problem with windows xp.

I have been receiving the ATI display driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered error. I formatted a partition on my PC with a fresh install of windows 7, installed latest catalyst drivers but no dice, ramped my fan speed up to 100% to troubleshoot and it definitely worked, stopped getting the error but pc starts seriously lagging after a while (playing spore & Black and White 2) playability also increases if I down the res from 1920 x 1080. This seems to indicate overheating n my opinion but I haven't seen the card go above 57 degrees. My chassis has no fans but with everything at stock should it overheat especially on old games. I have run Prime95 and Furmark all came out fine, no glitches. Max temp on Furmark was 84 degrees.

The print options box appears in the upper left side of the screen. I press the print button in the box. What prints out is the print options box over the screen I wanted to print. If I drag the print options box out of the way to the right side of the screen. The print option box doesn't print, I get the screen print I requested.

Same if I turn it off and turn it back on. I have to turn it off and on many times then go to safe mode and shut down then turn it on again for it to work. Just now I had to turn it on/off 4 times for it to show the icons and task bar. Usually it is left blank with nothing to click having no choice but to turn it off. Norton says no viruses. View 2 Replies View Relatedi performed multiple googles. but for the life of me i can not find the regedit for the value that controls the timeout for programs that "appear" to be unresponsive. the exact problem.is that when a game is loading a map or something that like midway the games window title bar displays the Not Responding. and if you click it dulls out and window and brings up that prompt to end the program or wait for it to respond.
i know there is a regkey for a value somewhere that tells w/e windows uses to classify a program as not responsive in milliseconds. or some odd measure of time.
i just need the regkey for the timeout value. god i hope someone knows what i am talking about.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI assume something is polling the web or keeping my monitors alive but I can't figure it out.nothing has changed in my setup other than a possible windows update but in the last few weeks my screensaver stays on 24/7.I played with it today and got it to shut off but i set the screen off time at 2 minutes, just 1 minute after the screen saver.I am using ultramon on a dual monitor setup. and for a screensaver I am using gPhotoShow. (allows separate/distinct slideshows for each monitor) as I have been for several years.my assumption is something is now polling the net or doing some activity that is preventing the monitor from sleeping. View 2 Replies View Relatedi have comcast internet.usually this problem occurs when im on Internet. i use google chrome. whenever i browse Internet, in like twenty five minute of video watching my computer starts to freeze. there is a cicle spinning and screen becomes blurry. i cant do alt control delete to end task it, because nothin pops up when i click it. now when i use other sites like facebook, twitter, the internet starts to freeze like before, before it was only Internet, now its a lot of sites and i have to manually hot the power button and relogon. is it a good sign that my power button on monitor doesnt turn blue when i turn it on, it used to , but now it dont. i can not use firefox because it will not let me install it. i am an administrator for sure because i followed these steps.url...when i google mozilla firefox from google chrome, and install it, it says"you may not have the necessary permissions to use all the features of the program you are about to run. you may run this program as a different user or continue to run the program as the current user."when i click towards current user, my name and my last name initial is there in parentheses after the word current user although my account name is different. then its all gray at the bottom and under user name it says administator, and blank under password but i cant make any changes because it is gray. if i click okay, it disappears and nothin installed. and when i click at bottom run this program as the following user and then i see administrator under user name and nothin under password. the account i have is protected by a password. if i type in my username and password that i currently am using, i have one account on my pc, or if i press okay how it was given to me, it says logon failure: user account restriction. possible reasons are blank passwords not allowed, logon hour restrictions, or a policy restriction has been enforced."i use superantispyware,malwairebytes pro, avast free as a virus protection.and whenever i go to itunes, i have to end task it once because it always freezes on me the first time i access it, it does let me end task itunes though
