This morning I was attempting to remove all my ATI related drivers ue to a display driver error I kept getting so that I can start fresh with a clean installation of the ATI video drivers. I went into the registry and deleted all the ATI related stuff I could find to make sure I had everything. I restarted my computer, and lo and behold, my keyboard and mouse weren't functioning at all, and I couldn't log in because of that. I realized in deleting those ATI drivers I'd possibly removed the USB controllers. So I had nowhere else to go except to system restore, but it told me I had no restore points, which is frustrating. So I'm stuck, i can't go back to an earlier date, nor can I log in.
I have a new computer, maybe have had it for a month. Most of the time, all of a sudden my keyboard stops working without warning what so ever, to get it work again I have to restart the computer, note that the mouse still works most of the time.If I leave the computer on over the night and when I wake up and check both the keyboard and mouse can stop working.Sometimes both mouse and keyboard can work without problem for a session. And when I check on Device Manager there is no error what so ever.
Ive recently built a new machine about a month or two ago and I have been having an issue within the last couple of weeks where when im playing d3 the keyboard and mouse will quit responding. They both still receive power as the lights are on. Then once you restart everything will work and start playing again it could work for 10 seconds or 6 hours before it quits responding and you have to restart again.
So far I have uninstalled and reinstalled the usb controllers, ive updated the motherboard chipset. Ive also tried switching usb ports. I also have this combo hooked up to a kvm switch and when it quits responding I can flip over to the other computer and it will work fine. So that leads me to believe its a software or driver issue but as far as I know ive already reinstalled everything.
I have an hdd that came pre installed with windows 7 64 bit. i recently purchased a sabertooth x79 (bios version 2104) mb and a intel i7 sandy bridge 3.2 ghz and tried to hook up my hdd to it. As it was a new mb, i had to reinstall windows, but as my windows did not come with a disk, i did it by restoring factory defaults. everthing seemed to go smoothly until windows 7 was booted and my keyboard and mouse decided to stop working. they work fine in bios and before i boot. but when windows 7 is booted they dont work. i tried 2 different keyboards and mice and in each usb slot. i also tried to boot in safe mode but it wont let me run the windows setup in that mode (and they dont respond there either).
Recently I have been having this problem where my PS/2 keyboard and mouse both stop responding. The lights are still on, but neither work. Sometimes it happens just to my mouse, and not the keyboard, but usually both. When it happens, they are not responding for anywhere from a few seconds, to a few minutes (but by that point I restart the computer). If it happens just to the mouse, putting the computer to sleep using the keyboard and wakening it again fixes the problem.
I have tried to update the drivers in device manager by letting windows search for them online, but it says they are up-to-date. I also checked all the connections inside the computer, unplugging and re-plugging each one as well as air-dusting.
EDIT: If I can't find a fix, I think I will just purchase a USB mouse and keyboard, but I'd rather try fix the problem first.
We have removed a computer from the domain because of some network issues. When we logged in to the computer as a local administrator we've noticed that the user folder of the domain user who was previously logged to that computer was almost empty(except for the appdata folder). When we joined the pc back in the domain the computer made a new profile.Unfortunaly the user did save some documents on his dekstop in the old profile.
my keyboard is adding numbers after things. eg b54 is "b" and n67 is "n" a lot of the number keys are screwed also eg this is one to zero `12B54B54N67N6789=-0
After adding my graphics card, and switching to it from intergrated my usb tablet and keyboard seem to be not detected anymore. All the drivers are installed, and they run fine on my laptop.
I'm a new user of the Windows 7 operating system. So far I'm content with it, it's just that I have one problem unsolved. I've been trying for the past few weeks to remove the English US keyboard without any success. I have no problem adding any new keyboards/languages, but that specific keyboard just won't go away, and it's causing me trouble.
I've Googled it and found no answer. Is there any way I could do something about it? Anyone has any idea? Anything would be useful.
I have a Samsung Q430, 64bit Laptop. A few days ago i got a blue screen so i didnt think much of it so i just restarted my computer. I didnt notice it for awhile but all my number keys with the exception of 3,4,6,8,0 now do not work.Things ive tried: Restoring computer to factory default, Updating keyboard driver and Running Virus and Malware scans. Its quite frustrating, i dont kno what to do now? Seeing how i have a factory restored computer & my number keys are still not responding.
A few days ago my keyboard stopped working. I believe I was uninstalling VMWare, which did not complete (but I don't know if that has any effect on it). I obviously tried the batteries, different keyboards to make sure it wasn't something simple. I tried plugging in to different USB ports (which all recognize the keyboard and installs the drivers) but it simply does not recognize the characters that I type. I have a several different keyboards that I have tried and I can not get them to work on the computer. The mouse works fine, and the volume and calculator key's work, along with the function keys. Everything else on the keyboard does not work. I have uninstalled all the hubs, re-installed driver's, which show the keyboard is installed (with no ! or error). I have ran out of options to consider, I am about to delete all the registry keys regarding the keyboards. I have been using the onscreen keyboard to login.I have both Logitech and Microsoft keyboards and installed and uninstalled Setpoint, Intellitype.
When i want to write 2 words together my cursor hang at 1 place nd could write other word repeatidly.i hv to wait for atleast 4 second to write another word.like the word is press i hv to wait for 4 seconds to write 2nd s
I've been playing the flash game "Mardek" for a while when it started to lag a bit, then i decided to give the computer a rest. The next day i was SURE i didn't do anything new and when i check out Mardek i found that the keys wouldn't work. When i tried other flash games they won't respond to my Keyboard as well. Only the mouse currently works with the flash games, i've tried numerous amounts of suggestions but the problem still isn't resolved.
Been having a problem with my laptop recently and when I turn it on the keyboard and touchpad don't seem to be responding but when I go into safe mode this is working. Also when trying to run system restore this is getting the the finalising stage and then doesn't actually work.
Some keys on my keyboard are not responding to actions. The keys that I know are still working are `,1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,-,=,q,w,e,r,t,y,u,i,o,p,[,],,s,h,;,',x,c,b,m,,,',the Space bar, backspace, and the Caps lock. I'm using On-Screen Keyboard to type this.
When I press the same button many times, entire keyboard and also touch-pad are getting stuck (not responding anyhow), but the Bluetooth mouse is functioning fine. Whatever I try can not fix it! The only thing to do is to restart the laptop, after restarting forking just fine, unless I start to press the same button many times (like if I will delete something with Backspace key, it is getting stuck)
I booted up my desktop, it booted fine, then I restarted it because I wanted to cconfigure the BIOS. But couldnt get into the BIOS and my keyboard stopped working. My computer then brought up the black&white screen with two options:Startup repair and Start windows normally.I couldnt choose so it went to startup perair, now it tried startup repair the 20th time and my USB keyboard still isnt working.
my USB keyboard has refused to work durng boot for a while now. Which means it's impossible for me to get into BIOS. I googled abit and found that I should get a PS/2 keyboard and plug that in instead. Said and done, bought one. I tested it on another computer and the keyboard worked there.
Now to the problem. the booting starts and I can shift around there with it. But after that first screen is gone and the computer is starting up the ps/2 doesnt work at all. the USB work after the boot but the PS2 does not work, . . I really need to get into BIOS but I just can't do it.
Usually when using an internet browser (firefox or internet explorer) and windows explorer windows, I try to click to switch tabs and it doesn't respond. It shows (Not Responding) for a split second and won't switch tabs. I end up having to click a whole bunch of times before it switches.
This same kind of thing happens with explorer windows when trying to restore them from the minimized state. It just won't respond and multiple clicks are needed before seeing any action. This has been happening for awhile now but I figure it just may be another bug
I have an issue about the mouse acting on its own. I've check some other threads but they seem mostly from people on laptops so it mostly rounds around the trackpad etc... I'm using a desktop and I don't know since when did the mouse suddenly works on its ownSome issues that i find happening often is:- mouse would automatically raise volume to max or to minimum since i use volumouse to adjust the volume.uninstalling it didn't change anything.- mouse would automatically "right click" and make a huge translucent rectangle.- mouse would suddenly not work at all and cant click anything though the keyboard still works- mouse would suddenly have different actions for the left button like when i open a new tab in a browser and select that tab, upon clicking with left button it will suddenly close that tab instead of selecting it- mouse would auto scroll up and down (mostly down) on anything i'm reading or browsingprobably few others but i cant remember nowI've re-installed windows many times but it would soon come back to doing things on its own. I'm virus free on this PC with Avast and a USB virus scanner.
Mouse is a PS/2 connection and new or old mouse still has the same problem. I see nothing suspicious in task manager so i really don't know why this is happening. A possibility is in a program or something i've installed but i have no idea what since all the programs i installed seems rather known to most of us. View image:programs
well i have dell laptop....keyboard i mean the keypad isnt working properly in my laptop. When i type it takes time to type those words or sometimes even when i press really hard it takes time in typing the word.i have updated the driver, checked the keyboard settings as well.
Since I'm running Windows 7 I thought I'd try to solve this on this forum, although the problem has plagued me all through vista as well but perhaps not nearly as much as it does now in 7.I have a Microsoft 4000 usb (wired) ergonomic "Natural" keyboard. I'll be on a forum typing up something (or in notepad, or anyplace I could possibly type) and all of a sudden the keyboard will stop responding to any key strokes. The only way to get it back to life is to logout and log back in, then the keyboard is working fine (unplugging it from the usb port works as well, although logging out and in is easier for me). When this happens, everything else on the computer is working perfectly fine, the mouse, display etc. It's just the keyboard that basically becomes totally inop. It doesn't matter what key I press they don't respond.
It's not a matter of an older keyboard that the wires might have broken or anything like that as this is a brand new keyboard. I've been using these MS 4000 keyboards for a few years now and have to replace them every year or less due to them wearing out from my fast and excessive typing but it doesn't matter, new or old, at some point, sometimes multiple times per day the keyboard stops responding on me.Any clues as to what might be causing this and more importantly how to prevent it from happening any further?
My USB mouse has been disconnecting on my for months now, and I thought it was a problem with the mouse, however, I bought a new one the other day and the problem persists. It goes like this: 5 minutes or two hours or more hours in, my mouse will stop responding. Sometimes there's a lead up of intermittent disconnecting and reconnecting, sometimes there isn't. Either way, it eventually goes down for good and will NOT respond until I restart the computer. The Keyboard and the speakers which are also powered by USB are fine, just the mouse is dead.
If I try to switch ports, the mouse is still dead. If I use a port on my usb hub, it's still dead. I'd searched and tried several fixes, like going to Advanced Power Options and disabling Selective Suspend. I've gone to Device Manager and unchecked: "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." Nothing has worked. For what it's worth, I think it happens quicker when I'm playing a video game like Sims 3 or Skyrim. That or it's just more annoying so it sticks in my mind more. Both of the mice I've been trying use the HID-Compliant Mouse driver.

I am using the Windows 7 Beta 7100. My kid play games and now my Key Board is no longer respond (to type) and the Number Lock light is Green. I could not do anything to turn it Off (number lock). The PC is working fine, by using the mounse. Is there a shortcut key i can hit to get the control back on my Key Board? Also if i click on the shortcut icon, normally it will open the application or folder, now it is open the Properties.
This error recently started occurring where the mouse will not allow me to close out of windows, or click inside of them. Generally this starts occurring when I start playing World of Warcraft but it's not limited to this only. It's happened when I wasn't playing, or when I am just chatting on Skype, or even not at the computer. It's not a virus, or anything malicious, as I'm pretty competent with that sort of thing, but I cannot figure this issue out.I've also checked the sleep and power options, both are fine.It just stops working for 5-60 seconds and I have to ctrl+alt+delete to fix the issue momentarily. My computer is a Windows7 X64-bit OS, Asus Notebook G60 Series. The mouse is a Razer DeathAdder 3500DPI.
EDIT: The touch pad also will not work during this "phase" of unresponsiveness from the mouse. When I say it will not work, I mean that it will not click as well, but it will move responsively, as the mouse will.
I have been searching the internet for the past few days for answers to this problem and haven't found anything yet. Randomly in the past few days Windows 7 explorer/my documents folder/anywhere in my computer locks up and stops responding when I try to use my keyboard. No matter what I try to do, renaming documents, using ctrl-c, pressing shift, using any key on the keyboard, it locks up. I have tried running windows updates, running virus scanning, spyware scanning....nothing will work
Ok not sure how to explain this but my mouse/keyboard occasionally freeze up for few seconds and mouse will become very very slow and beeping sound come from speakers when I try to press keys on mouse or just move it, not the standard error sound its different beep. In shooters i sometimes find my self unloading a gun in the air after the lag passes please someone help.
I tried googling but I couldn't find exact same problem but most of answers were pointing towards overheating I installed SpeedFan I alt tabbed out of stalker to look at the reading at my cores were at 60 not sure if thats enough to cause something like I described.
