Removing The English US Keyboard Layout
I'm a new user of the Windows 7 operating system. So far I'm content with it, it's just that I have one problem unsolved. I've been trying for the past few weeks to remove the English US keyboard without any success. I have no problem adding any new keyboards/languages, but that specific keyboard just won't go away, and it's causing me trouble.
I've Googled it and found no answer. Is there any way I could do something about it? Anyone has any idea? Anything would be useful.

Where Is Arabic Keyboard Layout With DIGITS In W7 ?
XP and vista had keyboard layouts for arabic + digits, so you could use the hindi digits. It seems in Windows 7, you can only choose arabic 101 without digits, no matter which country you choose, so there's no way for me to type the hindi digits like ٠ ٩ ٨ ٧ ٦ ٥ ٤ ٣ ٢ ١ what to do??? Where is this layout so I can have arabic characters and hindi digits?

Issues With Armenian Keyboard Layout
while I was testing Windows 7, I found out, that it has several issues with built-in Keybaord Layouts for Armenian language (both Eastern Armenian and Western Armenian). The first and main issue is usage of incorrect punctuation marks. The built-in layout uses standart Latin punctuation marks insted of Armenian, which while do have same apperance, have much different role in the language, so it not only doesn't comply with Unicode standart, but brings up different problems if you try to use such layout to type in Armenian. Here are those chars:instead of Armenian full stop ("։" u+0589) Latin semicolon (u+003a ":") is usedinstead of Armenian "long comma" "mijaket" punctuation mark (u+2024 One dot leader/Armenian mijaket/Middle dot), standart Latin dot is used (u+002E Full stop)BTW, majority of fonts which come with Windows doesn't include that u+2024 glyph. On Windows 7 exceptions are: Lucida Sans Unicdoe, MS Sans Serif, Segoi UI, Segoe UI Script. It is being properly displayed in browsers (IE8 and FF3.5) but will be displayed as a "square" in programs, which don't do neccesary "tricks" (e.g. in Notepad). There's another serious issue, which is the reason why the built-in armenian layout of Windows, is not being used much by users. The built-in layout is a typewriter one, which is almost useless, as there are/were only few hundred keyboards with armenian letter on them, which were specially ordered by government, 5-6 years before. Thus majority of users, have to use phonetic armenian layout, provided by 3-rd party software. Phonetic layout is now standart de facto if one wants to type in Armenian. So I think there's a strong reason to add phonetic armenian layout to Windows 7, so it supports armenian out of the box (without 3-rd party downloads) as other operational systems do, for years.I'm ready to provide more details on this and send the phonetic layout. I hope we enough time, and it is possible to finally fix this in Windows 7, as the issues I'm talking come from Windows 2000, and cause lot of inconvinience to users.I guess this is not best place to report this. So I would be grateful, if someone can tell me where it'll be better to report?

Games - Keyboard Layout Assumption
I have just come from an XP install, and have noticed an assumption that the Windows 7 RC makes about keyboard layouts that makes it extremely troublesome to play games when the computer is set to a Dvorak keyboard layout. In XP, I've found that most games are automatically remapped to use a standard qwerty keyboard layout. This allows you to use the default key bindings without having to remap the entire set of keys for the game. In contrast, Windows 7 looks to be applying whichever layout is set as a 'default' to games, without possibility of using an alternate layout. The active keyboard layout is ignored. I've noticed this behavior in every game I've tried so far, including Team Fortress 2 and Portal, as well as a couple fullscreen games not using Steam or the Half-Life 2 engine.

French Keyboard Layout Randomly Appears By Itself
I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I have two keyboard layouts installed - English and Russian. I use Ctrl-Shift to switch between input languages. Randomly (usually two or three times per week) French(French) "AZERTY keyboard would get installed by itself. So now my languages would cycle English-French-Russian. If I click on the language bar I can see the French keyboard there. If I go to control panel "Keyboard languages and other input methods" - French keyboard is not mentioned there. If I manually install and then uninstall it via control panel then the "rogue" French keyboard layout goes away from the language bar. Rebooting the computer also does the trick.

Adding And Switching Keyboard Layout Automatically
for a while I've had a problem with Windows 7 RC1, and today I installed the final (MSDNAA) version of Windows 7 Professional x64, only to find that the problem still persists. Here is a description (I'll try to keep it as short as possible): On my PC, I have installed two keyboard layouts: German and Bulgarian (Phonetic). However, when I launch Counter-Strike:Source, Windows adds a third layout by itself - English. I do not want nor need this layout, but I cannot remove it, as it does not appear in the add/remove layouts list. It does appear in the short list when I left-click on the layout button in the task bar though. I can switch normally between layouts using Alt+Shift, but the only way to remove the unnecessary layout is to restart or to log off and then log on again. Only thing to try that I came up with was switching the Steam application (needed to launch CS:S) and the game itself to German, but that didn't help. I haven't noticed this problem with any other applications (including many ones who are in English), just this one. Now obviously this is not a major bug - it does not affect the functionality of the PC in any way, it just makes me press Alt+Shift an additional time. However, it is something that Windows does that is not intended. Also, it is troublesome for me, as I switch back and forth between layouts quite often. and since this problem has appeared, I often find myself typing Bulgarian words with English/German letters or vice versa, which wastes both time and nerves on my end. Years' worth of habit just can't be changed so quickly..

English Win 7 Key + German Install Disks, Will It Work ?
I have an OEM version of Win 7 Pro (English) currently installed on my system. I am currently upgrading my Motherboard and CPU, building another system with the old parts. As the recipients of my old setup are German, the OS needs to be in German for them also. Here is my dilemma. When I pickup a new copy of Win 7 it will be in German (as I am living in Germany). They need a German instillation of 7 and my current OEM key is locked to the old motherboard. Will I be able to use that English OEM key with a German instillation, then use the new German key with my current English disks?

Changing Multi Monitor Layout Changes Screen Refresh Rate
I have an old screen (800x600 non PnP) that I use for multi monitor. It is correctly configured at 800x600 and 60Hz. If the Control Panel, I change the position of this screen maintaining all other configurations (namely the screen resolution) windows changes the refresh rate from 60Hz to 70Hz making unusable. I have to manually go to advanced settings and change it back to the normal value. Windows should not change any other value other than it was requested to. The resolution and refresh rate are not connected with "virtual" position of the screen in my desktop. The screen refresh rate can only be changed in the advanced settings, I did not even open this window so it should not change any setting inside.
