Everytime I try to set my win7 language to be UK, it also changes my keyboard to UK as well and some of the keys like qoutes and @ and & sign are all messed up.
I have been installing Portuguese PhotoStory 3 on my windows 7 machine. It install OK. I reboot. When I invoke Photostory 3 I am expecting to find it in Portuguese, ... but its still in English.i used the official PhotoStory3Portuguese(Brazil).msi?Even if I install the Portuguese version, does it still look at the OS language when invoked and say "well, your OS is in English so I am going to display in English"?

Several months ago, I changed the settings on my laptop, a Toshiba Satellite C655-S5132, so that I could play a Japanese PC game on it. I'm now attempting to update my Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family, but when I run the file I downloaded from the Toshiba website, almost every bit of relevant text is in Japanese. In the English I saw, it stated that the computer would reboot automatically upon successful installation, but it has not done so any of the times I've attempted the update.I have a feeling that the text on the last screen is something relevant to this, but am unable to decipher it. I've gone through the normal method of Control Panel > Clock, Language, and Region > Region and Language to set the language back to English, but that hasn't worked. I need to know what further steps I can take to correct the problem. As a side note, I don't have the time/patience to reinstall Windows 7. I'd have to backup all of my files, and later reinstall everything I currently have on my laptop.

I bought a laptop in Paraguay, with Windows 7 Pro pre-installed. I thought this would be handy and it was cheap as chips so bought it. Little did I know changing the language from Spanish to English would be such a chore. Is there a simple trick I'm missing?
I can get by but it would be so much easier to have it all in English. For instance, I just tried to put my camera's SD card in to the slot and it came up with an error message that I couldn't even read!
So my friend bought this Compaq Mini CQ10 laptop/netbook over in spain, and bought it over to the UK.When he got it home and first time booted he noticed it was in Spanish, with Spanish keyboard. So my question is, can i change it from Spanish to English? its running Windows 7 Starter.
I download a Traditional Chinese language pack (iso) from Microsoft Connect and I followed the instruction that i found from Internet to change my windows display language from English(default) to Chinese but I'm having problem to install it.

how can I change default German language to English on Windows 7 Home premium * Region and language is not an option, since there is no Display/Change lang?
I have a laptop that I am working on that is running windows 7 home premium and the language is set to Spanish. How do set the display language to english.

The typical -go to control panel and keyboard language setting- instructions dont work on Home Premium 7 for some unknown reason. The OS seems to be in English, but the keyboard doesnt want to change to Spanish.
Recent reinstall from partition. Legit copy, came with the laptop. Was working before the reinstall OK. Iirc the default interface might have been showing spanish, which might explain why i didnt have this problem before in the keyboard.
I think I was given the option to choose language at reinstall, and that I chose English. But everyone else who-s had problems with interface language never complained about keyboard issues.
I have a danish version of Windows 7.In the try (at bottom) I have a language bar where I can chose DK or EN. If I set it to DK then suddently it changes back to EN ... this is driving me nuts.
Since about a month ago Chinese language started popping up in my typing languages. I have 1 English and two Bulgarian languages. And when I go through them with alt+shift about once or twice a week Chinese comes there as well. I have no idea what brought this. When I go to the Input Languages it's not there. So I have to add it, apply, and then remove it in order to make it disappear from my language bar.
I've removed one of the language keyboard input in the settings but seems like it still appears in my language bar in desktop and it doubts me because everytime I have to shift twice to get back my input language into "EN" after using other language input.
I am about to purchase an asus laptop in Germany (with Windows 7 HP on). Now I know I can't change the system language (need windows ultimate for that) but I believe on Asus computers you can select English as the display language on the initial install (so each shop is telling me) and so i have read (which i don't really understand as why can you do this on ASus laptops only - surely windows is windows? ie you can or you can't!).
If this is true i was wondering just what will be changed into English (i.e. what exactly is the display language)? I gather the majority of menus etc will be in English, but what about if my laptop goes wrong and I have to start digging a bit deeper? Does anyone know if all the settings menus change so i'll be able toedit the registry if need be (just an example!).
After installing Windows 7 SP1, many applications and websites do not appear in English or any other language, but in some language which resembles Wingdings. MS Word, Notepad, websites appear in Wingdings. MS Excel is the only program to appear in English. After re-installing Win 7 (without SP1) everything is again in English. But, after installing SP1 again, same problem. I'd appreciate any thoughts, including which updates of SP1 I might be able to install without problems.
