Since about a month ago Chinese language started popping up in my typing languages. I have 1 English and two Bulgarian languages. And when I go through them with alt+shift about once or twice a week Chinese comes there as well. I have no idea what brought this. When I go to the Input Languages it's not there. So I have to add it, apply, and then remove it in order to make it disappear from my language bar.

Everytime I try to set my win7 language to be UK, it also changes my keyboard to UK as well and some of the keys like qoutes and @ and & sign are all messed up.

My new Acer TravelMate, which has draft N capability, was happy (but slow) on the old system and works OK when I connect it to the new router by ethernet. However when I to connect it via wifi it says "The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network".
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the icon pinned to my taskbar, and normally the way I use it is I click on the icon in the taskbar when I want the osk to pop up so that I can use it. When I'm finished with it, I click on the minimize button and it returns to its spot in the status bar and stays there until I click on it again. Now, *normally* when I pass my mouse pointer over the icon, just a thumbnail of the osk will appear. But lately when my mouse pointer simply passes over the icon, the osk will pop up and appear on my screen in full size, and I need to minimize it to put it back onto the taskbar. This is very inconvenient because every time I bring my mouse pointer down to the status bar to choose an icon, I inadvertently pass over the osk icon with my mouse pointer which causes it to pop up.

I'm pretty certain I know the cause, but I'd love it if the solution wasn't a complete uninstall/reinstall!When setting up Windows 7 I gave our location as France - primarily because that's where we live! One fairly rapid result was Windows 7 giving me a French keyboard, so I installed an English one, and got rid of the French.Another was some error messages in French, even though English is the selected language.But the real problem is in Excel. It won't recognise a number entered as 4.27 - it insists on the decimal point being a comma - 4,27 (as the French do, certainly with currency and probably with everything)

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe typical -go to control panel and keyboard language setting- instructions dont work on Home Premium 7 for some unknown reason. The OS seems to be in English, but the keyboard doesnt want to change to Spanish.
Recent reinstall from partition. Legit copy, came with the laptop. Was working before the reinstall OK. Iirc the default interface might have been showing spanish, which might explain why i didnt have this problem before in the keyboard.
I think I was given the option to choose language at reinstall, and that I chose English. But everyone else who-s had problems with interface language never complained about keyboard issues.

I can set either to default.The problem is, when I do shift+alt to switch to Russian, it always changes back to English when clicking on a new window. I assume that is by design as English is default.What I want is NO default. If someone switches it to Russian I want it to STAY in russian no matter what window they are in, and vise versa for English.

I am contacting you about a problem I recently noticed. Today when I opened windows explorer, under the Network tab I noticed a new unknown computer called VALI-PC. I do not have wireless internet, I have broadband connection. I do not know this computer and I did not add it. At first I thought some sort of virus did it. I have reinstalled Windows, thinking that it would solve the problem, yet the unknown computer is still there. I have tried flushing the dns from the command prompt and other similar tricks, rebooted my computer but it's still there. I would like to know how to block and remove this computer from the Network folder. Note that I am not part of any workgroup and I do not own a workgroup. Also I am using Windows 7 Ultimate.

In all previous versions of Windows, when I set the width of the taskbar (usually about 1 inch, so I can see more than just the icon for each task and the quick launch area is three or four icons wide) it stays that way, whether the taskbar is locked or unlocked. With Windows 7, after I set the width, any time the system restarts, whether from Hibernation, reboot, initial startup, what-ever - the taskbar is back to the narrowest setting.

I am baffled by the sheer number of warnings within Windows Explorer, the PC I am using is an entry level workstation, most of the parts are fairly recent, it has been a year I had purchased this machine. Upon starting up the windows, I get this dwm.exe Bad Image Error (Picture Attached in the Bottom).It says: C:WindowsSystem32dxgi.dll error. I have searched over the net and they suggested me to restart pc in safe mode, but nothing happens after I do so.The same Error pops up when I open Photoshop CS5 and also when I try open/saving a file using Windows Directory System from any application. My OS is x64 so are a bunch of programs, like while opening Photoshop it will say; "C:Windowssystem32EhStorShell.dll is either not designed to run to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original media contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support." As soon as I click ok the program works fine, but facing this annoying popup box every time I fire up a program or windows is irritating.I want to know if there are any permanent solutions, I heard it's a fact that you have to format and reinstall your Windows almost every year, is that true? I have installed critical programs with addons, is there any way that I can avoid reinstalling my windows and not face these annoying dialogs?
View 8 Replies View Relatedlately while watching movies on my laptop the taskbar keeps randomly popping up at the bottom and then disappearing after a couple of minutes, this has only just started happening and it gets incredibly annoying when watching a film when attached to a separate monitor. its happening when watching videos on Internet,4od,bbc iplayer etc, anything fullscreen. its not just browser vidoes either, while watching dvds through vlc or wmp it is happening.

It is in a locked state (dont know how that happened either) and has a "Switch User" tab beneath it. It pops up when I am playing an online game which is very irritating.
