Strange Language In Power Settings?
Oct 9, 2011The power options settings in the first option shows a strange language...I dont know exactly what it is. Can anyone explain to me this and how i can change it to normal?

Strange Random And Sudden Power Cuts On Laptop
Aug 22, 2012I seem to be having crashes on my laptop as of recent, but the patterns they follow are very strange. It's almost like i'm getting a BSOD while it being used, but instead the screen just go black and all power cuts. It then reboots and starts up as usual. As far as I can tell there is no conflicting software causing this, and it happens without any pattern. Since there is no Blue Screen, I cannot give a dump file. However, on the even viewer, I see an event labeled under the critical category. Now this seems like the CPU or other internal component is overheating, But when i look at HWMonitor Pro, the CPU stays under a steady 84C under load and 60C idle. This happens in a range of occasions such as rendering videos with Handbrake to simply browsing the web. I will say this, I recently swapped out my RAM cards because the OEM one's were causing BSOD's about a month ago. If you'd like more specific information on the laptop, visit my old thread.

Jun 7, 2010I just installed Windows 7 on a new laptop (QWERTY) for my wife. Generally we like it very much - but one problem has emerged. I'm pretty certain I know the cause, but I'd love it if the solution wasn't a complete uninstall/reinstall!When setting up Windows 7 I gave our location as France - primarily because that's where we live! One fairly rapid result was Windows 7 giving me a French keyboard, so I installed an English one, and got rid of the French.Another was some error messages in French, even though English is the selected language.But the real problem is in Excel. It won't recognise a number entered as 4.27 - it insists on the decimal point being a comma - 4,27 (as the French do, certainly with currency and probably with everything)

Aug 29, 2011Since about a month ago Chinese language started popping up in my typing languages. I have 1 English and two Bulgarian languages. And when I go through them with alt+shift about once or twice a week Chinese comes there as well. I have no idea what brought this. When I go to the Input Languages it's not there. So I have to add it, apply, and then remove it in order to make it disappear from my language bar.

May 9, 2012Windows 7 shuts down my sound system after about 2 minutes. I can see the LED on my A-L speakers turn off. Any sound will wake it back up but if it's only a ping it doesn't wake fast enough for me to hear it. This didn't happen with this same hardware on Win2k (I skipped XP and Vista).I went through the Advanced Power Settings but under Multimedia I don't have an option for sound.I'd rather not disable power saving completely, so I'd like to find a way to prevent the sound system from going to sleep at all.

Aug 1, 2010My system specs are updated. My power setting quit working a few days ago. No matter were I set sleep mode or power monitor down, it never does. Not sure why? I've performed an sfc/scannow with no errors. Nothing has really changed in my system recently except my vid card driver. I can't say that caused it, but I rolled it back just in case with no change.

The option is there and I am set to "Do Nothing" but closing the lid shuts off display, network connection, etc. In addition, I would like it to not shut off my network connection when it hibernates as when I log back in after the hibernation, it takes several minutes for the wireless network connectivity to return.

It seems to get reset periodically to the default which 40% for both battery and plugged in. I haven't been able to reliably reproduce the problem but every few days the plugged in setting gets reset to 40%. Is this a known problem with Windows 7?

Level: Battery action/Plugged In
Critical Level: 5%/5%
Critical action: Hibernate/Hibernate
Low Battery Level: 7%/10%
Low Battery Action: Nothing/Nothing
Reserve Battery Level: 5%/7%
Reserve Battery Action: N/A
If I leave the netbook on battery and go to sleep/go out/whatever, when I come back it will be off. After plugging it in and powering it on. It will say it is resuming windows, and then I get the "windows has recovered from unexpected shutdown" after Windows is started. I'm not having any problems with Windows, but this message is annoying. Theoretically when the battery hits 5% remaining, windows will gracefully hibernate and I can resume it without any problems.

Setting Can Change To Shut Off Power To USB Buses / When Power Off PC?
Jun 9, 2011I use my PC for audio production and I have a few external controller devices that are USB powered, for example a midi keyboard. I recently had to build PC due to a theft....long story short after building the new PC I've noticed that my USB buses have continual power to these external devices after I've powered down the PC. My old windows 7 PC did not do this. Is there a setting I can change to shut off power to the USB buses when I power off the PC? Or is this a hardware issue?
