When I invoke Photostory 3 I am expecting to find it in Portuguese, ... but its still in English.i used the official PhotoStory3Portuguese(Brazil).msi?Even if I install the Portuguese version, does it still look at the OS language when invoked and say "well, your OS is in English so I am going to display in English"?

After a great deal of investigating online (that's how I found this sweet website!) I was able to confirm that Windows 7 Home Premium does not have advanced language supports.
That being said, it is still possible to display foreign languages on your computer, you just have to know how to activate them. My issue started when I could not view the text for my international music.
1. Click on your "Start" icon and and type "Region and Languages" into the search bar 2. After clicking, look for the "Keyboard and Languages" tab and click 3. Click on the "Change Keyboards" button 4. Under the "General" tab, look below to the box entitled "Installed Services" 5. It will have your primary language listed, in my case English 6. To the right of the "Installed Services" box, click the "Add" button 7. Scroll through the list and open the drop box, and then click on "Keyboard" 8. Select the language you desire, in my case "Japanese" and "Russian" 9. Then click "Ok" to add it, then "Ok" to close the "Keyboard and Languages" and the "Region and Languages" boxes 10. Open up your media player, and you should be able to see the text properly displayed
I purchased a laptop loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium edition that needs an upgrade to Spanish. I downloaded the x84 Spanish Ultimate edition but I am unsure how to proceed to minimize any mishap.

Several months ago, I changed the settings on my laptop, a Toshiba Satellite C655-S5132, so that I could play a Japanese PC game on it. I'm now attempting to update my Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family, but when I run the file I downloaded from the Toshiba website, almost every bit of relevant text is in Japanese. In the English I saw, it stated that the computer would reboot automatically upon successful installation, but it has not done so any of the times I've attempted the update.I have a feeling that the text on the last screen is something relevant to this, but am unable to decipher it. I've gone through the normal method of Control Panel > Clock, Language, and Region > Region and Language to set the language back to English, but that hasn't worked. I need to know what further steps I can take to correct the problem. As a side note, I don't have the time/patience to reinstall Windows 7. I'd have to backup all of my files, and later reinstall everything I currently have on my laptop.

I bought a laptop in Paraguay, with Windows 7 Pro pre-installed. I thought this would be handy and it was cheap as chips so bought it. Little did I know changing the language from Spanish to English would be such a chore. Is there a simple trick I'm missing?
I can get by but it would be so much easier to have it all in English. For instance, I just tried to put my camera's SD card in to the slot and it came up with an error message that I couldn't even read!
So my friend bought this Compaq Mini CQ10 laptop/netbook over in spain, and bought it over to the UK.When he got it home and first time booted he noticed it was in Spanish, with Spanish keyboard. So my question is, can i change it from Spanish to English? its running Windows 7 Starter.

I have a Lenovo Think Pad with Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit. I had about 10 application icons pinned to the task bar. After adding a new keyboard language the icons disappeared and the scroll button (the one with the up & down arrows) moved all the way to the left of the of the task bar close to the Start button, hence not allowing any icons to be shown on the task bar.
So I was installing a language software today and I managed to get it loaded, however I had to restart my computer to an earier date for other reasons so I had to re-install the language software. Upon re-installing the language software I recieved a message stating "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail."However, when I try to open the sxstrace a little black screen flashes on my computer for a split second and then disappears but won't bring it up.I vied my event logs and I see two different errors for the side by side. The first is event ID 33 and says activation context generation failed for C:/windows/installer/{67E03279-F703-408F-B4BF-46B5FC8D70CD}/WksWP.exe" Dependent Assembly msadctls, processor Architecture= 'x86", type="Win32", version="1.0.1801.0" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.the second one is event id 59 and says activation context generation failed for "D:/setup.exe" error in manifest or policy file "D:/setup.exe" on line 0. Invalid Xml syntax.
I've removed one of the language keyboard input in the settings but seems like it still appears in my language bar in desktop and it doubts me because everytime I have to shift twice to get back my input language into "EN" after using other language input.
I am about to purchase an asus laptop in Germany (with Windows 7 HP on). Now I know I can't change the system language (need windows ultimate for that) but I believe on Asus computers you can select English as the display language on the initial install (so each shop is telling me) and so i have read (which i don't really understand as why can you do this on ASus laptops only - surely windows is windows? ie you can or you can't!).
If this is true i was wondering just what will be changed into English (i.e. what exactly is the display language)? I gather the majority of menus etc will be in English, but what about if my laptop goes wrong and I have to start digging a bit deeper? Does anyone know if all the settings menus change so i'll be able toedit the registry if need be (just an example!).
