Using An Alternative Keyboard Layout
Sep 21, 2009I am using an alternative keyboard layout (NEO 2.0) and I would like to know how to change the default keyboard layout so that I don't have to change it each time I open a new window!

Jun 1, 2009i have installed 7100 on two machine... one is Dell XPS, one is sotec... These are Japanese machine, so i have japanese keyboard.
On dell machine, i can use the keyboard as it is, i mean, the keyboard layout is japanese layout... (ie:the @ symbol is not on top of no 2.)..
but i cannot make the same on sotec machine, eventough i have set the same setting as the other machine. When i choose the Japanese keyboard layout, and click preview, it show the normal US layout.
How can i make this japanese layout to work?

Oct 4, 2009I'm a new user of the Windows 7 operating system. So far I'm content with it, it's just that I have one problem unsolved. I've been trying for the past few weeks to remove the English US keyboard without any success. I have no problem adding any new keyboards/languages, but that specific keyboard just won't go away, and it's causing me trouble.
I've Googled it and found no answer. Is there any way I could do something about it? Anyone has any idea? Anything would be useful.
Where Is Arabic Keyboard Layout With DIGITS In W7 ?
Dec 19, 2009XP and vista had keyboard layouts for arabic + digits, so you could use the hindi digits.
It seems in Windows 7, you can only choose arabic 101 without digits, no matter which country you choose, so there's no way for me to type the hindi digits like

what to do??? Where is this layout so I can have arabic characters and hindi digits?
English Keyboard Layout Appears On Its Own
Jul 23, 2010My problem is, that after being on my computer for awhile, the English layout will appear out of nowhere in the language bar, even though I do not have it activated, so there is no way I can get rid of it, except for restarting my computer. Does anyone know how I could get it to stop doing this? To most people it probably wouldn't be a problem, but it bothers me to have it there when I won't use it, and I always make extensive use of keyboard shortcuts, and skipping from one layout to another a lot, so it makes it harder and longer to switch between them. I have included a picture to illustrate this.
Also, to avoid making two threads (unless I should), does anyone know how to edit the layouts of the Korean IME's layout, so I can have the Korean characters in a custom layout, instead of the prescribed way?

Oct 20, 2012I Have my computer hooked up to my TV, and lately I've been using a Logitech K400 keyboard with built in trackpad. However, this setup is definitely not ideal for any gaming. A gamepad is a good alternative, but I don't think all games map well to useing gamepads.

Mar 9, 2012I have quite a few input languages enabled on Windows 7 Ultimate and I want to navigate between them using keyboard shortcuts like I used to do on Windows XP. I know how to assign the shortcuts but the trouble is that all of the shortcuts keep getting reset every time I shut down the PC and after I log on again none of them work... I can of course go to Control Panel and assign the shortcuts again but it's a bit irritating when you have to do it for 8 languages every day.Oddly enough, the shortcuts for two of eight languages that I have are automatically restored when I go to this dialog box where shortcuts may be assigned — without me making any changes other than just clicking OK. So these two don't seem to be completely lost, it just seems that Windows 'forgets' about them until I open the dialog box with the shortcut assignments.

May 15, 2012Win 7 Pro, Core i7, GB drives. Need to BU WORD documents and photos, soon digital camcorder films. Used Genie8 for years happily as the BU images on EHD can be read in clear. Then it stopped being able to save to follow on optical disks. Come to end of life. The company has been splendid in support too. Bought Genie Timeline Pro 2012 on trust but it is chalk and cheese, wildy different and not for me. Took all night to BU initially, etc. Incredibly if the EHD is not left connected all the time, it keeps on doing BU on the machine it's self! Now what is the point of BU on a machine that can be stolen or destroyed in a fire etc. ?

Aug 11, 2012I tried windows 7 for a year, I am done, I just can't do it.I absolutely hate the explorer and just about everything else.I have done everything I can to adjust and just can't do it. I am going to have to revert back to XPP.I really want a 64 bit process for the memory access.I want something as close to XPP or W2k as possible.Has anyone tried XPP64? I have tried classic shell its better but still not XPP.I already have a Linux box, its great Love it, definitely the future unfortunately a lot of the programs I need are still windows and I need 64bit.I used server 2003 briefly its pretty good, but I know nothing about 2008. Is 2008 explorer closer to XP or vista/7.This will be for a brand new 6 core I7 Desktop that I will build. I do not care one bit about support or updates, I turn auto updates off and only update when there is a new SP.I will not really be using windows much except for swapping files and a few simple windows program and thus the need for a good explorer. Most of my time will be spent in virtual machines.

Folder Layout View The Same For All Folders?
Feb 7, 2012When I view a folder full of jpgs I select 'large icons' so I can see thumbnails. Then when I move up the tree to the folders they too are in 'large icons'. I change these to 'list' and my jpgs are shown in 'list' style.How can I select a folder to keep the view type I select as I did in XP?

Also it would be nice to add new tracks in a random order to places within the list. The main thing is to listen to something new rather than repeat stuff. My list mainly consists of favourites and will probably not exceed 1000 items.

FireFox Keeps Opening Up In Alternative Default Page?
Dec 13, 2011I don't know why this is happening! My Mozilla Firefox (newest version) since yesterday keeps opening up in a default homepage (bankofamerica) and I don't even use Bank of America~! When I go to change it to use it a different default page, it sets it as the different page (or even default) but then when I reopen FireFox, it goes back to the default B of A page.
I ran virus scanner and windows defender and there appears to be no virus or anything wrong with my comp in regards to that..

Jan 15, 2012We are all familiar with the fact that for people who dont use a single window in explorer that windows 7 removed much functionality.Window size, position and layout is not remembered anymore. For explorer and many application windows. I've been using a program called windowmanager since windows 7 was released, but the product only sometimes works and is extremely frustrating to get it to work properly and consistently. Now that upgrades are no longer available to me I'm looking around for something else.I remember reading here a couple of years ago about another product, but I can't find it.
