Win 7 Pro, Core i7, GB drives. Need to BU WORD documents and photos, soon digital camcorder films. Used Genie8 for years happily as the BU images on EHD can be read in clear. Then it stopped being able to save to follow on optical disks. Come to end of life. The company has been splendid in support too. Bought Genie Timeline Pro 2012 on trust but it is chalk and cheese, wildy different and not for me. Took all night to BU initially, etc. Incredibly if the EHD is not left connected all the time, it keeps on doing BU on the machine it's self! Now what is the point of BU on a machine that can be stolen or destroyed in a fire etc. ?
So I did a disaster recovery with Genie Backup Manager and now Windows will not boot.I get the following bugcheck error: 0xc000021a. The message was something like: "failed to verify a Knowndll".Sfc may be able to fix the issue, but I can't use it because "a repair is pending".I can't find any crash dumps either, even though I get a BSOD.I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I can get more exact error messages later if needed.-- EDIT --The exact error on the BSOD is:"STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}The verification of a KnownDLL failed.System process terminated unexpectedly witha status value of 0xc0000020 (0x009f8860 0x00000000).
i used to use a simple "copy and paste" of url tool into clibnabber webpage but i see that has now been scrapped. can anyone please advise me of as simple a tool as this was to download from Internet?
I tried windows 7 for a year, I am done, I just can't do it.I absolutely hate the explorer and just about everything else.I have done everything I can to adjust and just can't do it. I am going to have to revert back to XPP.I really want a 64 bit process for the memory access.I want something as close to XPP or W2k as possible.Has anyone tried XPP64? I have tried classic shell its better but still not XPP.I already have a Linux box, its great Love it, definitely the future unfortunately a lot of the programs I need are still windows and I need 64bit.I used server 2003 briefly its pretty good, but I know nothing about 2008. Is 2008 explorer closer to XP or vista/7.This will be for a brand new 6 core I7 Desktop that I will build. I do not care one bit about support or updates, I turn auto updates off and only update when there is a new SP.I will not really be using windows much except for swapping files and a few simple windows program and thus the need for a good explorer. Most of my time will be spent in virtual machines.
I am using an alternative keyboard layout (NEO 2.0) and I would like to know how to change the default keyboard layout so that I don't have to change it each time I open a new window!
Thinking of going with a push-pull set up for CM 212 Evo using the stock fan on one side. What's a good (preferably quiet) fan for the opposite side (pull)
Needs to be 120mm btw, the CM 212 Evo comes with mounting brackets to attach the fans either side.
I can't even connect to my router with windows 7 now, but my ipod works fine. Is there a BETTER alternative to the built in windows connection manager? I'm on windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
The users here can't stand WLM with its over-busy interface and buried everyday functions and so I found a nice simple email prog called Sylpheed. It is very easy to use and quick. It works fine with one exception. It is not listed in default program options ( like it didn't exist) and so if you try to email out of an app, you are told no program is installed.
The battery indicator in the taskbar on my Thinkpad Edge bar is huge, almost as wide as two application buttons. My old HP the indicator was much smaller. I know how to disable it, but is there a way to display a smaller battery indicator, like in the system tray?
Not looking for anything fancy or complicated - at the moment I use WMP and I am happy playing 320k mp3s although this might change and the requirement is an easy method of cutting the last played tracks from a random list and placing them at the bottom of the list. Also it would be nice to add new tracks in a random order to places within the list. The main thing is to listen to something new rather than repeat stuff. My list mainly consists of favourites and will probably not exceed 1000 items.
I don't know why this is happening! My Mozilla Firefox (newest version) since yesterday keeps opening up in a default homepage (bankofamerica) and I don't even use Bank of America~! When I go to change it to use it a different default page, it sets it as the different page (or even default) but then when I reopen FireFox, it goes back to the default B of A page.
I ran virus scanner and windows defender and there appears to be no virus or anything wrong with my comp in regards to that..
I need alternative driver for samsung ml-1210 printer. Win 7 has a lot of samsung drivers but not the one I need. Any suggestions or help is apreciated..
I Have my computer hooked up to my TV, and lately I've been using a Logitech K400 keyboard with built in trackpad. However, this setup is definitely not ideal for any gaming. A gamepad is a good alternative, but I don't think all games map well to useing gamepads.
LIST SOME OF ALTERNATIVE SOFTWARES THAT IS FREE FOR COMMERCIAL USE TOO.I know two softwares. 1. MINGLEVIEW :- Easy to connect and Excellent Quality but lacks few features. [code]
any alternative software that is related to Windows Live Movie Maker? Because my PC is unable to run Live Movie Maker (i.e. it's GPU is not optimized to work with it).

I am using Open Office, which is part of the Java Platform, as an alternative to MS Office. Is there another, smaller program that does practically the same thing and will open the same files as in MS Office?
