Install Windows 7 From USB - Downlaod ISO File From Digital River

I have recently built my own computer. The only thing i was missing was an OS. I downloaded Windows 7 home premium 64 bit(from microsoft's partner Digital River). I took the ISO file onto my USB stick and tried to plug it in to my new computer. It did not work, which was logical. Then i used "Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool" from Microsoft, to make the usb bootable and the ISO. when it was done, i tried to plug the USB stick into my new computer, sadly it did not work. Then i tried to install the OS on a virtual machine "Oracle virtual box". I mounted the ISO file to the DVD drive on my laptop. Then i opened up virtual box to install the OS. It worked! I do not know why i does not work when i try to install it from the usb stick on my new computer.

I have purchased Windows 7 Pro 64 from Digital River. I would like to buy another Pro64 bit key but I am only allowed one Pro64 bit download. They will allow me to buy the Pro32 bit version, will the product key that comes with the Pro32 bit version allow me to install and activate another Pro64 bit install. Are the keys version specific?

I downloaded from Digital River yesterday with the student discount, and had the same problem as everyone else "unboxing" the download. I used the fix that's been circling round the forums and have got it installed and working. The only thing I'm missing is a product key. Wasn't Digital River supposed to give me one in my confirmation email?
I've received nothing of the sort, and would really like to activate this product I've purchased. I have product keys from previous versions of Windows that I've bought, but the machine I installed Windows 7 on was using Linux as its main operating system. Any thoughts?

So I bought a used 2 TB Hard drive and it supposedly was only used a couple of times and I got a good deal.I plugged it in and the software was installed successfully but it doesn't show up in the explorer with a drive letter. Now when I go to the device manager it does show up but I am not able to format it or give it a letter etc. Also like I said in the title it doesn't have a fat32 or NTFS File System.The hard drive I right clicked is the one I am talking about.

I've recently switched to Digital Audio (S/PDIF) (High Definition Audio Device) using one Toslink cable instead of all the analog wires going from my PC to my receiver.The digital sound is amazing, CD quality from my PC is great.However, I now also receive the digitized sound of pages being loaded as I surf the web. All sound comes out digitized when loading a new page.Is there a way to stop this from happening while listening to music or course material without gong back to analog?Can I have my digital CD quality and enjoy it too!

tell me if a re-install from a system image file on my notebook is as good as a clean install from say a retail disk.I can not format all my drive and start a fresh. Can my System image file become glitchy or infected with a virus.?

I am going to reinstall Win 7 Ultimate from a USB. I have been following your guide but i wanted to ask - I have downloaded my ISO file from Heidos. Its showing as an archive. I think this is normal? To be sure I DON'T need to extract this do I? It will be automatically done by the USB creation and /or install process ?

New computer above and my previous computer have Windows Updates for the same file with no KB number. Both computers have tried to install the update numerous times but fail. It says the file is Windows Internet Explorer 9. I get an error code 9C48 for which I find little info The new machine was put together April 11 and shows IE9 being installed on that date and I am already running IE 9.

I just built my first computer, and it has an SSD and an HDD. I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 on the brand new SSD, and on the C Drive I'm seeing a windows.old file that is 11.5GB, and there is a windows file that is 12.3GB. I don't get this at all. Like I said, it is my first computer.....everything seemed to go well with the build, and sp far things are working, but I know this isn't right. This was a brand new drive, like I said, I do remember when it was going through the different parts of the install, and restarting several times, that it seemed like it was staarting at the beginning again.....as If when it had finished, I didn't take the DVD out, and was basically starting the install "again"....if that makes sense, I stopped it, and pulled the DVD and it booted up, and seems o.k.

1. Same computer in my signature/specs except for the optical drive.
2. Hardware passes Windows 7 compatibility test.
3. The install DVD can be read properly. Creating an ISO image of it works perfectly. No read errors on the disk itself.
4. The optical drive is practically brand new, the cable is brand new, never had any I/O errors using this drive.
5. RAM passes MS memory testing 6 times. 0 errors.
6. Windows 7 Ultimate install fails at the same point, during file unpacking, 3 times. Says files are missing or corrupt.
The install disk was created at home from an ISO download, student licensed Windows 7 Ultimate, 32 bit but I don't think that really matters. See #3.Is there anything else left to look at? Any ideas why this won't work?

I bought a used toshiba L455 that has Ubuntu OS so I have downloaded a digital copy of windows 7, burned it to a disc but haven't used it yet because I'm afraid that I might mess something up.. the file is an iso file so when I stick it in the cd drive and use it, will it actually install windows 7? Or should I just buy the actual windows 7 discs? I also have the product key so I can activate it.

I have a Comcast receiver model DC50X which I used to receive live TV broadcasts on my computer. Unfortunately I had to reload my computer software but do not have the Tuner software I had before that works with this DC50X device from Comcast. I don't remember what it was. This system is so sluggish it either has multiple infections or is just overloaded given its puny 512 MB of RAM, so I can't really use the system specs utility at the moment.Since I'm working on a similar clean install for an ACER notebook which is Win7HP 32-bit, what are the chances that the .iso file I'm burning to DVD can also be used for this much older technology. I have no problem upgrading the RAM to its max, unless it's already at its max?

My company computer (hooked up to our internal network; no homegroup) has just had a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I went through the process of mapping network drives and had a problem when it came to connecting to IP addresses and folders in the format of '\servershared folder'. Turned out that I had to change a security setting.
Following the instructions on this site, I was able to resolve that issue. These network locations are CNC machines and the files that I am placing on the machines contain CNC code (G&M code and X, Y, Z values for 3D machining). Basically, G&M code cannot have multiple X, Y or Z values on the same line (it wouldn't make sense to go to two X locations in the same move).
When I transfer CNC files from a network location (all of our files are stored on a server) to the CNC machine, they occasionally get corrupted where part of one file is contained in another file. I have tried transferring one at a time and in bulk, both with the same result.

Just got all the parts yesterday, put i all together today, all is running fine.Just in case i'll post the components:

So i bought Windows 7 Home Premium from the same store i got this at (Webhallen, pretty much swedens largest component retailer) to replace the standard Home edition (which i got with my "old" packard bell!).
I have 2 HDDs, one from the packard bell (1tb) and one i recieved from a friend, a 320gb seagate. I ran with both in my packard bell for a while, using the 320gb for the system. It ran without any problems.So, i boot the CD, go through the setup and format the 320GB. (I also formatted some reserved space for OEM files from the Packard bell harddrive since i won't be using the packard bell any time soon).I proceed with the installation.The copying of the files goes very quick and when it reaches the expanding of files it takes ages before it finally comes to the error:Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070017.Immedieatly i whipped up the laptop and googled it, trying the different "sollutions" to no avail, like simply trying to install again without rebooting, taking out a RAM stick and only running with one in the master slot, taking out all excess Harddrives etc etc. i also ran Memtest86, clean, no errors!
I tried install Ubuntu on it, but that didn't go well either. It loaded for ages and then i got a very strange horizontal black and white striped screen, the black stripes being jagged and pixelated.I found my old windows 7 home cd from my packard bell and tried installing with that one. Same result, Error code: 0x80070017.
