Jan 14, 2013installed an airport extreme router and then returned it because it would only communicate with our apple stuff and nothing else. put the netgear router back in and now neither laptop we own will print anything accept test pages. everything worked fine before. thought maybe something happened to the printer so i got a new one , installed it, same thing. have uninstalled and reinstalled and tried several other changes suggested on the internet. still ,same thing only prints test pages.

Sep 10, 2009I tend to bring my personal laptop to work as I usually use it when working remotely.
I can find the printer and install it but I cannot print, even the test page fails.
I figured out that this is because my personal laptop is not on my company domain. However, like for any other shared resource such as a network drive or accessing our exchange server, I would expect to be asked for my credentials so that I can connect to the printer.
Cna this be done? Is there a way to print from my personal laptop to a network printer on a domain?

Sep 21, 2011I downloaded from the HP site the drivers for the HP 6480 printer for Window 7. However the printer does not print. When I try a test page, it comes through the printer, but no print is on the page. The window on the printer shows what looks like two ? Marks above the two icons that looks like tear drops. Oct 24, 2011Using Windows 7 and Word, each request to print delivers only the test page. A request to print e-mail also results in printing the test page only. Have disconnected and uninstalled the 812C and then reconnected (USB) and reinstalled the driver. Same result. Only the test page prints.

Aug 31, 2011I am not quite sure what to call the print but it is NOT what I am viewing that prints. It seems to happen now only in credit card sites and Paypal. Not for pdf but when I click on printable version it is now like 8 or more pages of small print. I noticed when trying to access a file going through the security tab info, I came across the Access of Control menu which came up with a warning to click here for restricted content and it seemed more like from the help center. That is the same type of print that seems to be printing instead of what is on the screen. Could this be something to do with permissions security type thing that has changed for some reason? It has been doing this for a couple of weeks now. Not sure if it is a Windows 7 issue or where to post this thread.

Jul 12, 2012Three days ago when I tried to print from the web and then WORD there was no installed printer. I checked and the printer was still installed but when printing a document the print screen said their was no printer installed. I checked and the print spooler was not working. So I downloaded the Microsoft toolMicrosoftFixit.Printing.Run.exe. I ran it and presto the printer worked but only once and when I went to print again, again the print box showed that there was no printer installed. So I have to run the Microsoft.Fixit.printing.run.exe tool every time I want to print a page then restart the computer. A royal pain and time waster.
Something is turning the spooler off and not allowing individual programs to see the installed printer and therefore reports that there is no installed printer.2nd issue. this is a new laptop (ACER) and there is no LED light to show "Caps Lock". I did find a setting that flashes the screen and makes an audible beep. However, my wife has the exact same computer and hers has a 2" x 2" box appear each time she puts cap Lock on. Which is way less distracting than audible beeps and flashing screens. Is there a setting for this? I have not found one in the Microsoft website for Windows 7.

I went to Device Manager and every entry under Other Devices was missing their drivers. The C310 printer, the SM Bus Controller and the Ethernet Controller. Windows Update was unable to find and install any drivers. Why all the Other Device components lost their drivers at the same time?

Disable Test Mode Watermark But Keep Test Signing Enabled?
Mar 10, 2011I've been using my Ps3 controller as an alternative to an Xbox 360 controller on my PC (to play games with a gamepad) but in order to use my Ps3 controller as a makeshift 360 controller, I need test signing enabled.
Unfortunately with test signing enabled I get a big ugly watermark at the bottom right of my screen, as far as I know the only way to disable this is to disable test signing, otherwise it just won't leave! Is there any way I can get past this and somehow keep driver test signing enabled but get rid of that horrid watermark ruining my gorgeous wallpaper?

Sep 18, 2012i have 3 desktop..two PC is having a win7 32bit and the other one is 64bit..i install the printer LX-300+II(dot matrix) on the 64bit win7...then of course the three desktop is on a network...the 32bit win7 is the admin..then the 64bit win7 and the 32bit admin can print on the dot matrix..but the other 32bit cannot..both of those 3 desktop are shared..workgroup name is same..sharing properties is same for both 32bit..and both 32bit can connect to the printer and can detect..when i tried to print its just qeue and comes with the word "spooling"..but when i tried printing on a laser printer it prints..but on the dot matrix it cannot print...
ways i tried:
1.check the port/ethernet the UTP cables plug out plug in and wait like around 20 secs. then connect again.
2.reinstall the driver on the 32bit that doesnt print.
3.remove device then add printer again.
4.did a windows update.
5.check if same workgroup.
6.check if shared and with same location and can access both 3 desktop.
7.check the permissions.
8.restart the computer.
9.troubleshooting the printer.
10.make sure there's a network connection.
IP address doesn't have because its a USB port and not suported by the OS..3 desktop on a network...two 32bit win7 one win7 64bit.32bit and 64 bit can print on the dot matrix and laser printer but the other 32bit cannot print on the matrix but can print on the laser..when printing its just qeue with spooling..
