So from my work computer, we scan documents in as .tif documents, some can be up to 100 pages. When I open it to print, it opens in the picture viewing screen. It won't let me print just 1 page, say page 36 out of 91... I don't want to print all 91 pages just page 36.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy old laptop with XP had a picture viewer that when i looked at my pics (mostly holiday snaps) in the slide show mode the picture filled the screen. Now on my new laptop with windows 7 the slide show plays at a smaller size with big black bands down each side? When i click on fill screen with previews up all the individual pics do fill screen but as soon as a start slide show the play back at smaller size. Is there a setting or something i cant find?

I followed these steps but under my default profiles there are none to "remove". I use a Nvidia 9800gt video card if that has anything to do with it. Whats weird in my problem it seems to be only the photos I've been scanning from my printer that open slow. I'm doing them at max quality and they're bigger files...about 600mb some of them. Maybe being that big it wouldn't matter what viewer I use. Smaller files open up nice and fast though.

I was saving photos with star ratings in a folder and deleting ones which I didn't want. Suddenly I was told I didn't have the authority to delete the photos (I am the only user and also the administrator) but I clicked to continue and the photos were deleted. Later I wanted to view the other photos and found that access was denied because I didn't have the right permissions to open the files in Windows Picture Viewer. I then found I couldn't open any of my photos in any folders. I don't know how to reset my administrator permissions.On closing down the laptop I was told "settings.ini is being used by another process. Close the other program and click retry". There is no other program open. I rebooted and tried to use system restore but it failed as it "could not access a file".It suggested I disable my antivirus and start again. I tried this but all I got was "Unspecified error during system restore, error 0x80070005"I don't know what to do next. Why can't I see my photos, and what on earth can I do about my settings.ini?In case it is relevant, I wanted to check out Windows Media Center to see if it could help but it keeps crashing. Also, to complicate matters, I was using the laptop offline but I normally have Poptray checking online to see if I have any emails and when I closed down after the reboot I got the message "cannot create file CProgram FilesPop TrayPop Tray.ini".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just reformatted my C: partition running windows 7.All my data is on the D: partition.I took ownership of all the files in D: Their is one folder I still don't have permission to open the files inside which are graphics for a website I am creating..The error message I get is "Windows photo viewer can't open this picture because you don't have the correct permissions to access this file location".so I ran the command prompt as administrator located the folder in question are ran "takeown /R /D Y /F *"It has given me full control of the files and made me the owner but still the error message comes up.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've tried the Photo viewer in Windows 7 and it is not a patch on the old XP photo viewer in the ease of being able to print multiple photos.In the XP you could click on any thumb nail and then Print.This then brought up all your thumbnails and you could make a multiple selection by ticking the wanted thumbnails.This is not possible in Windows. In order to print multiple prints of thumbnails you have to rename the thumbnails so they are in order in the file. I checked and the printer was still installed but when printing a document the print screen said their was no printer installed. I checked and the print spooler was not working. So I downloaded the Microsoft toolMicrosoftFixit.Printing.Run.exe. I ran it and presto the printer worked but only once and when I went to print again, again the print box showed that there was no printer installed. So I have to run the Microsoft.Fixit.printing.run.exe tool every time I want to print a page then restart the computer. A royal pain and time waster.
Something is turning the spooler off and not allowing individual programs to see the installed printer and therefore reports that there is no installed printer.2nd issue. this is a new laptop (ACER) and there is no LED light to show "Caps Lock". I did find a setting that flashes the screen and makes an audible beep. However, my wife has the exact same computer and hers has a 2" x 2" box appear each time she puts cap Lock on. Which is way less distracting than audible beeps and flashing screens. Is there a setting for this? I have not found one in the Microsoft website for Windows 7.

Troubleshooter indicted a HP Photosmart C310 driver was missing. I went to Device Manager and every entry under Other Devices was missing their drivers. The C310 printer, the SM Bus Controller and the Ethernet Controller. Windows Update was unable to find and install any drivers. Why all the Other Device components lost their drivers at the same time?

I load firefox, same issue. I load Crome, it worked for 1 day then same issue. It used to login in fine last week. It logs in fine on my 2 other PCs and my Kindlefire.I have checked for viruses with Avast and A-Malware Bytes in safe mode - nothing. These 2 pick up 98% of stuff. Personally I dont think its a virusn IE9 - Deleted browsing history, cookies, temp internet files, everything under the Geneeral/Browsing History section. Did a disk cleanup, put the site inthe trusted zone, turned off popup blocker just in case, Cleared SSL state, Reset IE9. Zippo

View 7 Replies View Relatedi have an intel i5 2400 cpu, combined with 4gb ddr3 memory. mobo is dh67bl - revision 3. no gpu installed.power supply is via corsair vx450.problem i been facing:
1) bsod saying that a clock interrupt wasnt recd. [url]
2) bsod saying: page fault in non paging area. couldnt grab a screenshot for this.
3) display randomly goes off for a split second and reappears.. but the color of the panes go blue (i havent chosen blue. my setting is for clear pane.)[url] this error solves itself after random number of hours/mins
4) display vanishes for a split second and reappears, and a small balloon at the bottom right corner prompts that the display driver had stopped working.
5) system plain hangs/stops responding. randomly happens.. but more so while on Internet, or after hrs of it idling, i come back to the comp and try to scroll the content onscreen.sometime it revives from the stuck state as if nothing happened, sometimes i have to give it a cold boot.
6) while reading forums with blue bands.. the blue bands kinda form blurry bars which stretch till the end of the screen. i tried to grab a screenshot but the screenshots were clean. the bands moved as i dragged the image about.
7) also, my comp's display went off one day and within a second came back with a blue-ish hue. it restored itself but again has gone back to blue-ish.
other relevant information:
windows 7 x64
no other os resides/installed on system
full retail version
os was installed in july.

It still copies the screen to the clipboard for a paste into paint, but I can't figure out why it's bringing up the dialog to print or how to turn that off. I have seen it before maybe 8 years ago on Windows XP but do not remember what was done to correct it. When I try to search, I just find posts about it not working or how to turn the whole screen capture function off for the PrtScn button.
