I used to have folders with a display of pictures on the front. Now I have plain folders, when opened, they have an icon to click and the a large picture shows up. I would like to open the folder and see the thumbprints immediately. Toshiba Satellite running Win 7.
View 7 Repliesif this issue is Gimp related or not, I just noticed it a few days after installing Gimp 2.6.
Their is a weird folder named "WINDOWSTEMPDIR_FONTCONFIG_CACHE" in my Pictures Library. After searching I haven't been able to determine what this folder is for or why it was created. Is it OK to delete it or should I move it, leave it alone or what?
Few days ago, my computer stopped outputting any images to my monitors. At first I thought it might be a video card issue so I replaced my video card, but that hasnt solved the problem at all.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI purchased my new computer on Christmas 2008 due to the sales they had that day. When I first got it, it work perfectly fine without even downloading the drivers. I'm a developer for a game and I use various software needed for graphics editing. I play a 10 year old game (Sony's Infantry) almost everyday on average for 1 to 3 hours a day and my system temps are pretty normal. Around 40-50C temps when playing. I use compressed air every 2 weeks and my case is nice and tidy so there's no dust bunnies or anything of that sort.The problem arose during the month of August 2009. There were no artifacts or blue screens or anything like that. The computer would just suddenly turn off on its own and when I tried to power it on, it did not display a picture. I saw the CPU fans spinning, the HDDs were running, all the cables are connected properly, the video card (sapphire 4850) fan was on and there's 1 beep code.
I asked my friend to borrow his old 8600GT and my computer worked normally. He suggests that my PSU may not be supplying enough juice to the GPU. I thought it might have been the mobo. But my friend is more knowledable than I am. I ended up buying a new PSU. The PSU ended up not solving the problem. Then I buy the same exact card that gave me the problem and a new motherboard and installed the drivers.. that didnt do it either. With basically a brand new computer minus the RAM, I end up with the same results.

I have avermedia avertv volar ax, and first time when i installed windows7 build 7100 work normally, after restart the images are in negative color( mean black is shown white.etc),
please i donât figured what happened why doesn't work after restart, i tried anything setting on my usb tv tuner, inclusive upload driver and application but nothing.
I have recently upgraded my box from XP Pro to Windows7 Ultimate and the first thing that I noticed was the icon pictures when using the Thumbnail view.
With XP Pro, when the Thumbnail viewing mode was used a miniature picture of the actual picture represented by the icon was actually displayed on the icon. If the icon represented a folder containing multiple pictures, then the folder was divided into quarters displaying 4 micro picture taken from within that folder.
Now when it comes to the same usage in Windows 7, I find when in the Thumbnail viewing mode. ALL such icons are now depicted as a generic icon that shows a picture view of a spit of land protruding into a body of water and as such, finding a particular photo/picture is far more awkward than before.
My question: Is there a way that I can remedy this shortfall and set up Windows 7 Thumbnail viewing mode so that I can once again view a miniature of the within picture having it displayed on the actual Thumbnail icon?
I can't see my pictures, only a generic with the download number. How can I change this back to seeing the actual picture so I know what I'm choosing without having to preview each one?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a new computer last week & it's pre-installed with Windows 7. When I first put in my Mini TV DVB-T USB stick, Windows 7 found drivers for it and WMC recognised it and gave me instant TV to watch. However, just this last 2 days it all went sour. I still have the channels listed but on each one I get sound and just a black screen. No idea what changed, perhaps a Windows update as you get heaps of these when running a new system. Anyway I have tried running the USB drivers again and re scanning my channels but the result is still the same. It's so annoying knowing it has worked but now it won"t. Here's my system stats.

In XP, I could choose which pictures to import, and give them names, and XP would number them for me, for instance import into C:Pictures2009, and the pictures would be named 2009 001.jpg and so on.
Now I dont understand how to do it, and if I have imported some pictures, I'm not allowed to do it again. WHAT???
Why should Windows 7 decide if I can import my pictures again, what if I delete a picture by mistake?
