This is the first time am posting in this forum. Internet is working fine in my machine in wired modem as well as wireless wi-fi modem. But whenever i try to connect an USB modem data card for internet, it gets installed for mass storage alone and nothing gets installed for internet. And yes, the USB port works GOOD for all pen drives. This problem occurs only when i connect an USB data card and the following error message pops up. It doesnot buzz off till i remove the USB from the machinethere is no disk in the drive. please insert a disk into drivedevicehardrive2dr2..

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been having this error even after reformatting and reinstalling Windows 7 on my desktop. I've done reformatting / reinstalling Windows 7 several times, yet the problem still occurs. I'm thinking of my HDD as being corrupted or messed up. The problem occurred after I accidentally hit the CPU when I was stretching my foot. The screen froze after that. Upon rebooting it, 'Disk boot failure, Insert system disk and press enter' occurs. After I entered the DVD installer of Windows 7, the screen just hangs.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been having a bit of trouble with windows 7 lately, namely that it won't start up right. When I boot from the drive normally, it gives me the classic "BOOT DISK ERROR: INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER" message.
However, I soon discovered that if I boot from the Windows 7 cd and do not boot from it (By ignoring the "Press a key to boot from CD or DVD..." Windows 7 boots up fine.
I've tweaked my BIOS over and over, but the same problem persists. The drive is brand new and fine. What can I do?
My friend bought a new PC and needed to put am OS on it. He put in the W7 disk and the error message 'disk boot failure insert system disk and press enter' appeared before installation was shown. He has tried changing around BIOS and it also recognises the hard drive and DVD/ CD ROM drive. View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen starting the computer, I keep getting "Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter". Nothing works other than putting in the boot disk and hitting the restart button on the tower. Then it will boot up and run fine. But how do I stop it from having to have the disk in order to load? Checked in the BIOS and the hard drive is the first load.

I want to do a 'custom' reinstall on my C: drive. It's clogged with unused programs and it runs very slow.I set the BOIS to boot from HD and CD; neither worked. I purchased a new HD and may want to install it as my C: drive.I set the BOIS to boot from CD; still I get the dreaded message:"Disk boot failure insert system disk and and press enter"I recently installed a new mother board due to the fact it was defective, not as an upgrade. To make it clear I already had Win7 Ultimate installed. On my first attempt to perform #1 I got to the question of which install did I want; I clicked 'custom'. From then on nothing happened, and now I keep getting "THE DREADED MESSAGE".I put my win7 disk in another OSXP computer and it displayed, "This disk is not compatible with this system" so I assumed my disc was not corrupt.I bought my win7 disk legally on line a couple of years ago, and I have used it once. Will that be the problem? I never got to the "License key" so I don't see how it could be?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem starting my PC! I have to start it in the boot menu under the RAID option. If I do not do this a message saying "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.." comes up, and just keeps popping up regardless of what I press! I would try using my boot disk but for the life of me I can't find it, and as windows 7 was already installed on this computer when we got it 3 year ago, I can't accurately recall if it came with one!I am no expert on BIOS, but I have read other problems similar to this one, and know that if I don't have the boot disk or the OS disk, I will need to know that at least.I am curious if the (Hard drive) is the issue. The BIOS tells me that anything in parentheses is disabled from corresponding type menu.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy mom has a problem with her older desktop. It keeps coming up to reboot with proper boot device or insert media. I have gone into the BIOS and changed the boot sequence, but no matter what I do, that message always appears. There is not a cd in the drive. I have tried removing the cd-rom from boot-up completely, and it still goes back to that message. I know this is an older machine, but really I just want to get the info off it for her and I am unable to do that right now. Is this a hard drive issue, or a motherboard issue? I realize this message has been asked before, but the answers appear to be the same; to make sure the boot sequence is correct. I have already done that and its not working. PC runs windows 7 with all the updates.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt boots fine from usb fine and starts the setup however when she goes to install it asks "insert the media device and select the driver windows 7". Ive looked around the forums and google and found that this can be a usb 2.0 , 3.0 problem with people just switching to the 2.0 slot and it working. However this does not work for her and so I looked around more and found it might be needing the drivers for the USB ports had her insert the disc that came with the motherboard however non of the setups in the usb folder work and im not sure which specific file she needs to choose to get the driver to install or 100 % if that is even the issue. Any ideas? Intel Desktop Board DZ68DB - Overview this is the board Forgot to mention this hard drive is from her older computer so its a new motherboard / cpu / ram.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 on a AMD Phenom Machine. Hard Drive died so I put another one in and restored Windows with Acronis True Image.
When I leave the Windows repair disk in the drive, the restored system starts perfectly, runs perfectly etc. But if I pull that repair disk out of the drive I get this error about "No Bootable Device" "Insert Disc". So in other words that repair disk has to be in the drive, else I get the error.
I have already:
1. Verified that the boot sequence points to my Windows Drive
2. Run system repair. That's useless. It just tells me everything is fine.
3. Run bootrec fixmbr, vixboot, rebuildbcd. No problems found
4. Run Chkdsk. No problems found.
i cant gant get past this screen and therefore cant get into bios or ny other screenwhat do i do? tried to press several buttons at startup but it only keeps multiplying the message on screen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor about the past 2 weeks my computer has been becoming slower and slower on startup, and just general usage. And so today I decided to take some actions to try to make it startup faster and just run faster in general. So i ran msconfig, disabled some startup entries and some non microsoft services. Also, knowing that disabling the boot GUI made the computer startup faster, I disabled that also. Then when I went to restart, I ran into problems.
When I turned the computer on I knew it wouldnt show the bootGUI and so I let it just sit and do its thing. After a very long 15 minutes (longer then it ever had been before) with just a black screen, I held the power button to turn it off. Then turned it back on, and got to the windows recovery window. So I hit f8, went into safe mode, loaded up msconfig, and enabled the bootgui, and restarted.
This time it showed the boot gui. However, once the windows logo was shown for about 15 seconds it switched to a screen that said "Windows is loading files" With a loading bar under it. I had never seen this before so I just let it load at first. As I was waiting for it to load I went and got dinner. Roughly 30 minutes later I went back and it was still stuck at not eve 1/4th of the way. So I held the power button again, restarted, went through the whole process again and then it brought up a message that said the communication with the device was gone. And that it happens when you pull a flash drive out or a hard drive or DVD drive looses power.
I do not think that my hard drive is going back. It is about 5 months old. Along with the rest of my computer. Pretty new. 5 months about.
