View 1 Replies View RelatedWell I just finished building my first computer and was happy ( and a little surprised) that everything seems to be working fine. Even without installing any drivers that came with my components.
The Asus P6T motherboard comes with a disk for chipset drivers and my GTX video card also has a installation disk. Not to mention a new logitech mouse and new keyboard.
All these things seem to be working fine at the moment and device manager shows no problems with anything installed. Is Seven so packed full of drivers that I don't need to bother with these disks or should I run them anyway or just leave things alone?
My CD/DVD drivers are no longer on my computer. I think I may have lost the drivers. I tired to look for a download but no luck. I have two drivers.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Windows 7 64 bit computer, almost brand new. I also have a Dell AIO 926 photo printer that i wish to connect to it. When i connect it, the computer recognizes it as normal, but says i need to download the drivers. I click troubleshoot, follow its instructions, download the correct driver(made sure when i looked manually on the dell website), for 64 bit windows 7. Only thing is, i still cant get the printer to work! it still says "troubleshoot" and wont let me print anything. and every time i "troubleshoot" it says i need drivers for it, which it did before, and just takes me in a continuous loop, getting nowhere. I then downloaded it from dell website manually( i made sure it was for 64 bit, not 32) and still no luck. i can stare at the drivers all day but i cant get my computer to use them on my printer. it just detects theyre not there. the drivers are installed to the main hard drive C:, under dell/drivers/R150575. is it installed in the wrong place? i couldnt find a different place to install it in the drop downs, and it seemed like a good place to install it. i have also restarted the computer to make sure, and disconnected & reconnected the USB; still no luck for both, still that dreaded exclamation mark next to the printer under "hardware and devices".

Also, why do I get a WDDM v1.0 driver and not a v1.1?
I have windows 7 installed on a PC I built a little over a year ago. I recently upgraded to the windows 8 consumer preview, but I didn't like it so I'm trying to switch back. When I install windows it works fine, I can turn my computer off and on as many times as I want and it will be fine, but if I install any video card drivers or any of the updates that windows tells me to install, the next time it boots up I either get the windows splash screen or a black screen right after it says, "starting windows", and shows the 4 orb things that spin around and turn into the windows logo. It stays on this screen for 5-10 seconds and then continues to black or the splash screen. I have tried installing only my video card driver, I have tried installing only one of the recommended updates, but no matter what I install it doesn't work the next time it boots, so I don't think it's a problem with one specific driver. However I have selected only the ones that started with: important windows update, or something like that, none of the security updates or anything and those installed successfully. I have reset my bios and changed every setting I can think of, but nothing works. I have also completely formatted and re-patitioned my hard drive. I have basically reset my computer as much as possible without building a new one. What else can I do? I need to install my video card driver at the very least or I can't play games, which is the whole reason I built a PC
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo on Friday installed a new video card (7850) and this morning I had opened up the case as I have been experiencing some freezing with the new card (reason why I replaced the old card) however I have never had sound issues.I did the following prior to leaving today:Rebooted system a few times, had removed video card a few times, inserted monitor cable into the motherboard, booted that up, disabled the vga adapter, then rebooted and turned it on again (figured it might help with the freezing) I also pressed the reset button that is ON this motherboard (Asus P8z68-V Pro)So in any event long story short, When I came home today i didnt hear sound. I have tried just about everything, the Windows 7 seems to reflect sound is "fine" all the drivers are fine, I see the volume going up, I know the right speaker is "default" nothing is muted. I remove the speakers plug them into the other computer and they work fine. Also the head phones don't work in any slot either (i have several jacks on the computer for headphones)I am thinking during the reboot I have fried something on the MB preventing me from using the analog cables for sound. Should I try the HDMI on the video card to avoid having to replace the MB if this was the case? Windows 7 does not tell me anything is wrong with any hardware.I even updated the drivers for sound etc but remember this is a sudden issue, thats why I dont think its a "setting" problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an old HP 600 plotter that simply will not quit.
I am trying to print from my laptop (with Windows 7) and need to get the driver from the Windows 7 desktop.
The plotter works fine from the Windows 7 Desktop as it was an upgrade from XP.
Where is the driver stored in the Windows 7 desktop. HP no longer supports this plotter.
I have been looking and cant find any drivers for windows seven to run the ethernet or wireless cards in a IBM thinkpad r51 new to drivers and stuff never really had to deal with them

It will not boot in any mode, safemode it gets stuck at random drivers it won't even boot from my OS disc to repair. I recently plugged in a gamepad I had used on my old (vista) computer. Windows installed drivers that sort of worked but weren't as functional as my old ones. I copied the gamepad's DLL/instal folder over to this (7) computer and tried to register the dlls. Regsvr32 gave me the error: The module "name and location of dll.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found. Make sure that "name and location of dll.dl" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again.None of the .exe files seem to do anything.I can't find the original installation file on the internet anywhere but the old driver name/version was: "TWIN PS TO PC CONVERTER Driver Version: 3.51(2007.01)"

View 2 Replies View RelatedA few days ago, I went to turn on my computer and it just gave me a black screen after the "Starting Windows" screen. I attempted to use System Repair, which failed. It said there was an unspecified error possibly caused by a change in system configuration. I have not changed anything on my computer, for the record, between the last time it worked and now. My husband said it downloaded updates, which would explain why it was off in the first place instead of just being on stand-by. Anyway, I then tried System Restore, which also failed. I can get it to start in Safe Mode with Networking, but it seems that everything I try to run to figure out what the problem is, is saying it can't find the problem. I enabled bootlogging and found this...

the first time it bsoded it gave a 'problem with hardware' error which made me really scared. at that time i forgot to turn enable minidumps, so i couldnt post here for help. since then i have gotten a bsod once more with minidump enabled? also, i am using the nvidia geforce 560ti.. and the latest nvidia drivers cause my computer to freeze up occasionally when i watch Internet videos. the Internet video will turn black with pink lines and my computer would freeze up. apparently some others have been having the same problem.

I have the wireless adapter working fine, well it was working fine. The strength of the connection was only 2 bars for some reason as of late. I have other computers and they're all fine. So I assume maybe I can fix it by installing the drivers for it. The moment I install it the computer stops recognizing that I even have the wireless card hooked into my mother board! Did the driver installation break it? Because even it when it was supposedly done installing it claimed that I needed to actually plug the thing in! Even though it was working fine a minute ago. I've tried running the program but it wont even acknowledge my clicking. I tried unplugging and plugging the hardware in and that didn't work, I even changed its slots. I don't know what to do short of just reloading windows on it and skipping every using the driver cd.

After I Installed all of the drivers for everything but the graphics card it was finally time for that and as soon as I downloaded the newest drivers from Nvidia and restarted my computer I immediately got into a reboot loop and any time I've tried going into safe mode to delete the drivers my computer restarts. On top of all of that there are these red vertical lines all over my monitor.
