Cannot Get My Computer To Use Drivers For My Printer
Nov 30, 2011
I have a Windows 7 64 bit computer, almost brand new. I also have a Dell AIO 926 photo printer that i wish to connect to it. When i connect it, the computer recognizes it as normal, but says i need to download the drivers. I click troubleshoot, follow its instructions, download the correct driver(made sure when i looked manually on the dell website), for 64 bit windows 7. Only thing is, i still cant get the printer to work! it still says "troubleshoot" and wont let me print anything. and every time i "troubleshoot" it says i need drivers for it, which it did before, and just takes me in a continuous loop, getting nowhere. I then downloaded it from dell website manually( i made sure it was for 64 bit, not 32) and still no luck. i can stare at the drivers all day but i cant get my computer to use them on my printer. it just detects theyre not there. the drivers are installed to the main hard drive C:, under dell/drivers/R150575. is it installed in the wrong place? i couldnt find a different place to install it in the drop downs, and it seemed like a good place to install it. i have also restarted the computer to make sure, and disconnected & reconnected the USB; still no luck for both, still that dreaded exclamation mark next to the printer under "hardware and devices".
I use Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. My problem is: Whenever I try to print something (word, pdf, or any other file); printer spooler stops working and when I check the Devices and Printers all the printer drivers seem to be disappeared. I checked the Print Spooler" in the Services tool; and set the "Recovery after subsequent failures" option to Restart the Serviceā. Therefore all the printer drives coma back after 1 minute. However the spooler stops immediately again when the uncompleted printing job starts; hence I can not print anything more than a page. Earlier in this forum, someone posted that Microsoft issued a hotfix for this problem ( hotfix 2388142) which can be downloaded from article: [URL]. I downloaded this hotfix and tried to install, however it gives an error message of: The update is not applicable to your computer and quits installation. I did uninstall and reinstall all the printer drives, but this did not help either.
I've had the worst luck with this HP Officejet 6500.or some reason my computer always sees it as "offlineWell the only way to get it back online is to delete the old printer & add a "New Printer" via Devices & Usually that works even though it's severely a pain in the a**!But now my computer isnt even seeing the printer at all any more to add?I've restarted my computer twice, turned on/off the printer a few times, re-synced the printer within the wireless router successfully & it still isnt showing up.I really need this up & running asap to finish my work, but I also need to get to the bottom of the problem of this stupid thing going "offline" and making me re-add a new printer. It makes using the computer so frustrating. It happens a couple of time a week maybe.
I have an HP OfficeJet 5610. Both printer and scanner work perfectly on my main computer with 64-bit Windows 7, but when I try to print something from my dad's laptop (XP 32-bit) it gives me "unknown error"-type messages. I found out that I need to install the 32-bit drivers on Windows 7, but where do I find them? I never installed anything in the first place; the normal 64-bit drivers came with the OS. My Windows CD has both versions, so it must have the 32-bit drivers for my printer... but where?
I have 64 bit Win 7 and originally installed HP 1230 drivers but my windows ended up installing three drivers for the same printer. I now have a new printer and no matter how many times I try I cannot delete the the original printer drivers, every time I start the computer again it re installs the HP 1230 drivers even though that printer is long gone and no longer attached to the computer. Any ideas on how I can get rid of them ?
I have a 64 bit Win7 OS and I need drivers for a Lexmark 3200 printer and a Mag Innovision DTS 3060 scanner.Neither the printer nor scanner are usb. The latest drivers for them seem to be for either XP or Vista, depending on which web site your'e on.
I am trying to install a HP D2600 printer. The software nver finishes. It's installing a bunch of unwanted software anyway. So I uninstalled that which it did install and went to the add printer selection in Devices and Printers. Found the printer and installed it. Test pages or anything else get as far as the spooler but never to the printer. Device manager tells me no drivers installed. Try to update the drivers and get the message that they are up to date. Printer is Not offline.
Can anyone point me to compatible printer drivers for PaperPort 8SE on windows 7? The program runs fine in compatibility mode for win 2000 but the printer drivers failed to load at install time.
my year old HPphotosmart C4585, all-in-one printer prints pink shaded pictures. new computer running windows 7 ult. 64bit.. do I need new printer drivers or what!?
just bought compaq presario, win7, 64 bit laptop. trying to install hp officejet 4500 G510a printer driver. when type in www.hp.com, it takes me to www8.hp.com and a black and white HP screen. Am running Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. Takes forever to download. Save it to my docs folder. When it's done, I unzip it and run it. Steps me through the process, asks to plug printer in and then wait until it finds it.
I am looking for assistance for my daughter on an older HP Printer model HP630C with paralle portonly and has been running on Windows XP 32 bit for years. She now has a new HP Windows 7 laptop running 64 bit and printer won't work. Is there a Windows 7 64 bit or Windows XP 64 bit driver somewhere for this printer?
I was gifted a HP 1300 printer and the set up disk. I tried to install using the disk and it did not take so I went into your website for another attempt. I have a windows 7 laptop I am trying to set up. I ck download hp 1300 printer driver windows 7. What now?
I can't get a Samsung ML 3560 Laser printer to operate with my desktop computer which is running Windows 7 Home Premium. There is nothing wrong with the printer or USB cable - they work fine with my laptop running XP.I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers for Windows 7 (and have checked this with Samsung), but for some reason the printer isn't showing up in device manager.I have tried connecting to various USB ports.
I have a desktop computer and a laptop at home. The desktop is connected via CAT5 to the modem. The laptop is connected to the same modem and the same network, but via a wireless signal. Both desktop and laptop are Windows 7 Home Premium x64. Both desktop and laptop belong to the same homegroup/workgroup. It is possible to see shared files between the computers no problem. File sharing is enabled on both computers and works normally. So far, so good. However, I am unable to print from my laptop in a very peculiar way. I'll simply say what goes on (rather than attempt to analyse) so you can judge for yourself:When I print from the desktop: Print job goes into print queue. I am able to see the document in the print queue, on both the desktop and laptop (i.e. Laptop detects the correct printer and sees there's a document queued). Document prints as expected, and disappears from queue. When I print from the laptop: Print job goes into print queue on laptop only - Only the laptop sees the document in the print queue, desktop does not see it at all. After some time (usually ~10 seconds per page) the document disappears from the queue, as if it was printed normally. However, the desktop never registers the document in the print queue, and most importantly the printer never prints.
- Is this a software issue with Office 2003 (what I use)? Not as far as I can tell, printing PDFs and from websites also don't work on the laptop. - Could it be that the printer you added to your laptop isn't recognised as being the same printer? I doubt this, because when I print a document on my desktop but check the print queue on my laptop, the document is present. - What kind printer do you have? HP Deskjet F2180. - Is your network preventing the two computers from connecting to each other? I don't think so, because file sharing is on for both, works normally on both machines, and I can see the desktop's print queue from the laptop.
Well here is my issue I have a XP computer that is hooked up with the Printer but I have it set it for to be shared already. When I go to "ADD PRINTER" and i hit the button saying "ADD NETWORK, WIRELESS, BLUETOOTH PRINTER" it searches and searches but it nevers finds it but when I had vista I had no issues finding it. We are on the same network and workgroup.
I am connected by wireless and the XP computer is connect via wired. What can be causing this because I am completely stumped about this because I am trying to figure out how to print stuff though a network printer. Another thing is I can not find any other computer on the network tab.
I have a Epson Photo RX585 Printer which is giving me one hell of a headache since I upgraded from XPpro to windows 7 32bit.I cannot get the Computer to communicate with the printer or is it the printer to accept the computer communication.I have downloaded the latest driver for the printer from epson home site and installed it.The automatic configuration of the driver into the appropriate port is not happening and asks me if I want to install it manualy (with me thats like asking a bus driver to fly a jumbo Jet).I did try getting directions from the internet but got lost and finished up with my printer driver attached to a LTP1 port instead of a printer USB port, needless to say it still wont work.I then decided that I would add USB ports myself Dont ask me how I did it but some how through the device manager I typed in USB001, USB002 and USB003 and the computer seems to have accepted these port as it has not thrown them back at me yet.My next venture into the unknown is to configure the printer with one of these ports to see if it will work. The computer will not configure automatically to any of these ports and I do not have a clue as to how to do it manually. As you can see by the details above anyone after reading this who is brave enough to attempt to give me instructions as to how to get this compuer of mine and printer onto speaking terms again is either mad or deserving a medal.
Vista 32-bit Host connected direct to an HP printer - works fine. Win7 64-bit laptop connected direct to same HP printer - works fine. Win7 64-bit laptop printing via Vista 32-bit host - no go.
I've tried installing the 64-bit driver on the 32-bit Vista machine. I've also tried installing the 32-bit driver on the Win7 laptop. In both cases, Windows and the HP website give me the runaround and insure me that all necessary drivers will auto-install via Plug-n-Pray. But this is not the case. Unable to find driver downloads easily.
I shall shortly be taking delivery of a new desktop which runs with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.I have a Canon 4400F Scanner and a Canon iP4300 Printer. Will these work OK with Windows 7?
Having trouble getting my Epson R380 printer drivers to work with Win 7. I know it will be released very soon, Oct 22nd. So I would like to get this printer installed. I am presently using Win 7RC, and have tried several times to get it installed with no luck. I had it networked with my other XP computer and it worked ok but every time I wanted to print something I had to turn the XP computer on. So I decided to connect the USB straight from the printer to my Win 7 computer, and have been trying to get installed ever since with no luck. I went to the Epson site and got the Vista drivers for it and they would not work either.
