just bought compaq presario, win7, 64 bit laptop. trying to install hp officejet 4500 G510a printer driver. when type in www.hp.com, it takes me to www8.hp.com and a black and white HP screen. Am running Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. Takes forever to download. Save it to my docs folder. When it's done, I unzip it and run it. Steps me through the process, asks to plug printer in and then wait until it finds it.
I use Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. My problem is: Whenever I try to print something (word, pdf, or any other file); printer spooler stops working and when I check the Devices and Printers all the printer drivers seem to be disappeared. I checked the Print Spooler" in the Services tool; and set the "Recovery after subsequent failures" option to Restart the Service. Therefore all the printer drives coma back after 1 minute. However the spooler stops immediately again when the uncompleted printing job starts; hence I can not print anything more than a page. Earlier in this forum, someone posted that Microsoft issued a hotfix for this problem ( hotfix 2388142) which can be downloaded from article: [URL]. I downloaded this hotfix and tried to install, however it gives an error message of: The update is not applicable to your computer and quits installation. I did uninstall and reinstall all the printer drives, but this did not help either.
I used until now a virtual printer who makes PDF files and send them direct to an editor. It's called BoD_easyprint_de.It always worked on XP and now I was told that it works on Windows 7 64x. Just on my Windows 7 64x Laptop doesn't work. I can download the program and start installing it. Right at the end the installation stops, shows a problem by installing the driver and error 216 and closes the installation.
I tried installing HP drivers for my 7210 MFP downloaded from HP site, when installation begins it just dissapears, ran virus scan and driver shows as a corrupt .exe file.I installed same driver on laptop and it works fine on wireless network. Both running 7 ultimate 64.

anyway to use an ethernet cable to directly connect my printer to my computer or is there no such thing?
I have an older printer which has no USB connection. My new computer also does not have the old style printer port which is required for this printer.
My printer does however have an ethernet port and I was wondering if there is anyway to connect directly to my computer using an ethernet cable.
I realise I can connect my printer to my router but this sits on the otherside of my house and it is not practical for me to have my printer so far from my computer.
I have an Epson multi function printer which I am trying to install in XP mode. The reason I am doing this is because the scanner wont work in Windows x64 bit, so I have tried to install it in XP mode. I went to the Epson website and got the x32 bit drivers and downloaded both the printer and scanner driver. The thing is though when I try to install them I get a message saying that I need to install the printer driver manually but I don't know what port it should go in.
I have recently purchased a Dell Laptop (Inspiron) & have managed to transfer everything but my LexmARK Z605 printer, I have tried it with the original disc, zilch. Gets as far as saying it was successful & is sending a test page, zilch, Cannot download an updated driver because the site says there isn't one?
i have been running windows 7 rc1 for a while now, I have a HP laserjet 1018 installed as a shared printer on a windows xp machine. From windows 7 rc1 I send jobs to this printer no problem. However, on my new retail version of windows 7 professional 32 bit the printer does not respond to print jobs. The document sits in the que for a few seconds then it just disappears.
I am trying to install my printer to my wireless network, but I keep getting an error message that I am not the administrator on this computer. This is my personal computer, so don't know why I would not be the administrator. I did set up a homegroup and add my printer and all my documents, but that doesn't seem to make a difference.
I am on a Verizon FIOS wireless network. We have both a Toshiba and Sony computer. I downloaded the latest drivers for my HP Photosmart 6280 printer and was able to successfully install my printer wirelessly. However, no such luck with my Sony. I download the same drivers, and it goes through part of the installation, but at some point I get a message that 'the system cannot find the file specified', and then it rolls back the install, deleting the download.
The thing is I don't know is how XP or OS deal with network printer. I have an application that directly request to network printer without judging the installation of the printer. So, after installing a fresh copy of XP if I run my application it add an network printer and start doing the process. where as my application failed completely in 7 Premium also tried to add network printer. While doing this, its gives an error. the snapshot of the error is given PrinterBehave | Flickr - Photo Sharing
I installed a new printer and started printing a new document, a script error message popped up on my computer. I cannot fix it. Why is this happening. It will print an old document frm my files. I also noticed that an ethenet cable is connected to a wireless router and a modem. Is there a cable that supposed to connect from printer to computer? I have an HP Ethernew all in one printer, Officejet 6500 E709 series.
I'm taking a ghosted image to another machine. On the image I have my device drivers set with static IP (e.g. Local Area Connection 1 is the static IP I want). I have two local area connections, 1 and 2, and 1 is what I want it to be while 2 is a default Microsoft IP.I put that image onto another system and after loading it I don't have Local Area Connections 1 and 2 anymore but Local Area Connections 3 and 4. When I first boot, the computer says Device Drivers Successfully Installed. Why am I losing Local Area Connections 1 and 2 and thus creating 3 and 4 which both have default Microsoft IPs? I want to retain the Local Area Connection 1 that has the static IP that I desire.
I have purchased a D-Link 1040 wireless print server and have connected it to my printer using a USB connection. I have installed the software. I turned the power on and pressed the little button on the side of the print server to enter search mode. In Windows 7 I tried adding a device but my computer can't find it.I suspect I may have to make some network connection or adjustments using my wifi modem. How to proceed?
I have this old printer. I am trying to instal it on my pc but it doesn't work. On the hp website it explains how to install. The problem is that when I instal it, I have to choose the option of Deskjet 3600 which has to be downloaded through windows 7 update. How do I do that.
Installing wifi printer, which was very successful. However I've since had a computer crash and now I don't seem to be able to re-install my printer. I've used the software disc again and checked that the wifi connection is ok, but when I try to print a web page nothing happens! I have Windows 7 and the printer is an Epson Stylus SX435W.
I tried to install a One Touch 9320 USB Scanner and received "adding printer driver failed". The software is out there but I cannot connect make a connection to the scanner. All the wires are connected.
I'm unable to install my Epson Stylus Photo 785epx printer program onto Windows 7 (64-bit) which is connected to a wireless home network. It hangs up and gives an error message that it isn't compatible by the OS. It worked on my Windows XP desktop fine.Epson.com doesn't NOT list any downloads for Windows 64-bit for my printer model nor am I able to find any useful links helping me with this issue on that site so please, no directions to go to the Epson web site.
We have an X 5150 Lexmark Printer and need to know if it will be compatible with Windows 7 by installing the x 125 printers drive. You mention compatibility with the Lexmark, but you don't specifically mention the X5150.
I have an HP OfficeJet 5610. Both printer and scanner work perfectly on my main computer with 64-bit Windows 7, but when I try to print something from my dad's laptop (XP 32-bit) it gives me "unknown error"-type messages. I found out that I need to install the 32-bit drivers on Windows 7, but where do I find them? I never installed anything in the first place; the normal 64-bit drivers came with the OS. My Windows CD has both versions, so it must have the 32-bit drivers for my printer... but where?
Well, after deleting Windows XP, Vista and Ubuntu and reinstalling 7 (32bit) as a single OS I maybe resolved my problem with Sapphire HD 3650 not working on 7 but now, when I install Windows 7 drivers (weird, my agp card gets recognized with normal drivers) and reboot I get BSOD before entering the login screen of Win 7. Any help?
I have a PCChips P23g ver 1.0 motherboard running windows 7, and I am adding a new SATA dvd drive. I am trying to update my sata driver, but I cannot find a driver package that works. I checked with my motherboard manufacturer website and it tells me to install VIA Hyperion Pro 4in1 Driver 5.24.
But when I try to install it, I get a message "Sorry, the install wizard can't find the proper component for the current platform. Press OK to terminate the install wizard." I have tried downloading several different copies of this driver package (each one is supposed to be compatible with windows 7 according to the site I downloaded it from), but none of them get past this message.
