Installing New Device Drivers, Not Retaining Ghosted Drivers?
Jan 24, 2013I'm taking a ghosted image to another machine. On the image I have my device drivers set with static IP (e.g. Local Area Connection 1 is the static IP I want). I have two local area connections, 1 and 2, and 1 is what I want it to be while 2 is a default Microsoft IP.I put that image onto another system and after loading it I don't have Local Area Connections 1 and 2 anymore but Local Area Connections 3 and 4. When I first boot, the computer says Device Drivers Successfully Installed.Why am I losing Local Area Connections 1 and 2 and thus creating 3 and 4 which both have default Microsoft IPs? I want to retain the Local Area Connection 1 that has the static IP that I desire.

Installing ATI Drivers Causes BSOD
Oct 8, 2009Well, after deleting Windows XP, Vista and Ubuntu and reinstalling 7 (32bit) as a single OS I maybe resolved my problem with Sapphire HD 3650 not working on 7 but now, when I install Windows 7 drivers (weird, my agp card gets recognized with normal drivers) and reboot I get BSOD before entering the login screen of Win 7. Any help?

Dec 22, 2009I have a PCChips P23g ver 1.0 motherboard running windows 7, and I am adding a new SATA dvd drive. I am trying to update my sata driver, but I cannot find a driver package that works. I checked with my motherboard manufacturer website and it tells me to install VIA Hyperion Pro 4in1 Driver 5.24.
But when I try to install it, I get a message "Sorry, the install wizard can't find the proper component for the current platform. Press OK to terminate the install wizard." I have tried downloading several different copies of this driver package (each one is supposed to be compatible with windows 7 according to the site I downloaded it from), but none of them get past this message.

The best I can do is 1280x1024 even though my screen is 1600x900. I can't install the drivers off of the amd website because it can't detect my graphics hardware. This is my first time using virtualbox or anything like it.

Oct 9, 2011I just completed a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit (x86) after formatting my computer, which was previously running Windows XP Professional SP3. Everything during the install went smoothly, but now I'm trying to install my graphics card drivers and it's not working. Before I go further, here are my system 'specs':OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit Mobo: ASUS M2A-VM (Green) Graphics Card: nVidia 9800 GT CPU: AMD Athlon 5400+ The first driver I attempted to install was my motherboard driver. I used the CD that came with the mobo, but the drivers were not compatible with Windows 7 so I had to run the driver under compatibility mode for Windows Vista in order to open the setup, then I installed those drivers. I then restarted and attempted to install my graphics card drivers off the CD that came with my 9800 GT. The first set of drivers that it installed were the PhysX drivers and those installed just fine. It then attempted to install the actually graphics card drivers, but then it said "The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit." I opened up dxdiag and checked under the display tab and it's not showing any hardware under that tab, as if I have no graphics card. I then tried installing the Windows 7 32 Bit drivers that I downloaded from the nVidia site for the 9800 GT but when it does the system compatibility check, and error occurs that says "NVIDIA Installer cannot continue, the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware." I then checked in the device manager under the 'Sound, video, and game controllers' section and only Realtek High Definition Audio is there. I have also installed the drivers for my motherboard found on the ASUS website after selecting the Windows 7 OS. I downloaded and installed the driver under the 'Chipset' section titled 'AMD Chipset Driver V1.3.0.49 for Windows 7 32bit/64bit--(WHQL).'Basically, my computer is not even detecting that I have a graphics card yet my monitor is plugged into the DVI port on my graphics card, and my graphics card is on. Does anyone know what's going on? Better yet, does anyone know where I could find drivers that will work and make my system functional?EDIT: If anyone requires any further information in order to help me with my problem, just let me know and I will get it asap.EDIT2: I just looked in my device manager and I noticed that under the 'system devices' section there is a device with a exclamation point in a yellow triangle called 'PCI Standard PCI-to-PCI bridge'. There is another one with the same name that doesn't have the symbol. Could this perhaps be part of the problem? The error for this device is 'This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.' I have a feeling this is the problem. I went into my bios and enabled the "Plug and Play OS" but when I did that it made my computer run INSANELY loud. So I turned it off.

It looks like it's copied a lot of files to C:Program Files (x86)Realtek, but after I restart there are only four files copied there and the drivers haven't been successfully installed.
These are the only drivers I've had trouble with, and I was wondering if someone could give me directions on exactly how to install the drivers. No one else seems to have had trouble installing them, so I must be doing something wrong.

Oct 23, 2009So i installed windows 7 late last night (from xp Pro) and everything seemed to work fine but these audio drivers (seems to be a common enough issue as far as i can tell)
I've downloaded or installed 3 versions of the drivers. The ones that came with the MotherBoard(Abit IL9 Pro) disc, but it gives me an "error -001"
Second I located these "Windows 7 and vista drivers" from their site showing versions 6505 and 6503 - Both of these gets stuck on a screen that says "These drivers cannot be installed because they are no digitally signed" And it just loops when i try clicking on "install anyway."
Last i tried running them from the run menu with string attached to the end (silent install i think it was called) same digitally signed message again.
Any ideas?

ive tried using asus latest driver but it fails.
ive also tried a few older drivers.
but says not compatable with win 7

Installing DX48BT2 Intel Drivers
May 7, 2009At the moment when you install Windows 7 it uses rather generic Microsoft drivers for chipset and other items on the motherboard. Im thinking of installing the proper Intel ones from Download Search Results but since they dont have Windows 7 drivers yet, Ill just use the Vista ones.
Im just wondering which of those drivers on that page Ill need to download for everything thats on my motherboard (DX48BT2) and any of its on board items like nic etc (I have a separate Creative sound card).
W7 Won't Boot Up After Installing NVIDIA Drivers
Aug 7, 2009Well, I have this problem: After installing 64bit 186.03 (tried 185 too) NVIDIA drivers for notebooks (I have geforce 9200m gs) and restarting, windows just won't boot up. The screen goes black and then reboots without even showing the "welcome screen". I've tried this with 7100 and RTM builds (Didn't have any problems with xp though).

Nov 28, 2009I am looking to sort out my graphics drivers for my new computer and just want to make sure I get it right and so avoid any kind of nightmare, I am sure some of you will be able to point me in the right direction....
I have a GTS250 card installed on my PC running windows 7 64 bit. It is currently using the standard windows drivers would have automatically installed when the computer was put together. I would like to change these to the proper Nvidia drivers so I can have the control panel and more control etc.
This is what I think I need to do:
1. Download correct Nvidia drivers and save somewhere
2. Uninstall the GTS250 device in device manager with remove the software option
3. Boot in safe-mode and run a driver cleaner thingy (which one is free and best??)
4. Restart and run the Nvidia install program
Is this correct? Is it necessary to use a driver sweeper? I have read that the generic driver can just be installed over but I am not sure about this. Is it the uninstall option that I need to use? I have also read that windows will automatically re-install the generic driver from a ‘store’, how can I stop this happening?

It seems as though the drivers are "uninstalling" themselves, because every time I start up,I have to re-install the driver(I don't have to uninstall the original). Recently , the problems have gotten worse. Now, even after installing the drivers (again), I'll get no input from the tablet.

Dec 5, 2009Okay so i have an older Wireless PCI Card from like 5 years ago, I didnt have an antenna for it so i didnt use it, I recently came across the antenna and put the card in my PC, The "Ethernet Controller" says it doesnt have the drivers, and windows wont find it on its own. So i have gone to the website and downloaded the driver and software, it all tells me there are several missing .dll files.
So i downloaded them virus scanned them etc. and still no progress on getting the card installed. I dont know where the CD for it is and i doubt the CD would even work for windows 7. Can anyone help me out with this prob? Its a Wireless-B PCI Adapter 2.4GHz Model No. BB720C808230

After reading like hell on google and trying everything, i eventualy kinda gave up.When I went to install my chipset drivers, any type of driver, (i figured i needed to reinstall the motherboard drivers). Sandybridge i5 -2500k MSI gd-55 b3.So all these keep saying UNKNOWN ERROR , the setup program was canceled.This is on that any MSI driver related to my motherboard, intel control manager, sandy, mass storage,also,Realtek Audio goes, cant find any devices, when i do have sound,Cant install network card,Malware / Spyware?no, Ive ran sfc /scannow , Spybot S&D, Malware Bytes, Vipre Anti-vir Premium full scan, security essentials, super anti, kaspersky boot up cd, adaware, . trojan killer and some other oneused ccleaner.registry mechanic.tune up ultimitlies,removed all toolbars,Platform: Windows 7 SP1 (WinNT 6.00.3505)MSIE: Unable to get Internet Explorer version!

Jan 10, 2013So, I've had my computer for a few years. But I didn't have the Realtek drivers installed for my onboard soundcard (I'm unsure if they were never there or they'd disappeared) and therefore none of the Realtek software installed, and I needed them, so I found, downloaded, and installed the right one for my Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 motherboard. (I installed from The installation went through fine. Now, no sound is coming out, at least out of any of the three rear 3.5mm jacks for 5.1-surround-sound. Interestingly, the microphone input still works, though.I tested a USB headset I have and it works fine (Realtek doesn't recognize the input or output of the USB headset), and I tested two different 3.5mm headsets and neither of them work (but the 3.5 microphone jack did work and *was* recognized by Realtek). When I go to the "Windows Playback Devices" manager it shows my computer playing sound on the correct device but no sound is actually going through the jacks. I've gone to the device manager and tried disabling the only other sound *device* showing up, which was "ATI HDMI Audio". I've tried restarting multiple times, replugging the jacks, trying both setero and 5.1 configs, playing with a few enhancements and settings like the bitrate and exclusivity options.[CODE]

May 11, 2009This was a weird one. I did a clean install of RC1. I used my Dell driver CD to reinstall drivers. After installing the sound, chipset, and SATA drivers the DVD drive would disappear at the end of each installation. I rebooted and BIOS did not detect it. I had to power off at the end of each installation to get the drive back.
I've copied the entire contents of the drive to the hard drive and had no problems. I installed one of the drivers from this copy on the hard drive and had no problems. This is all now working so I probably won't play too much with it but I wanted to put it out there for others to consider.
Drive identified as: TSSTcorp_DVD+-RW_TS-L633B
Also lists D200. I'm wondering if this is the firmware version.

I installed a driver for my recording interface (lexicon Omega) so it can work with my music production software which is Reaper. Once i open reaper and create a new track, as soon as i go to arm the record button, a BSOD comes up. after i restart my computer, everytime i open Reaper my PC crashes with the same BSOD. I did a system restore and tried reinstalling the driver but the same problem persisted.

Jun 22, 2009Since I made the Move to 64-bit a while back, Every once in a while, I would run into a Problem where I needed to Install Driver that was Un-Signed.
As A Security measure in the 64-bit Versions of Vista/7, All Drivers must come with a Secure Digital Signature.
This is not a large problem anymore with the fact that Most Drivers are Signed nowadays. But Older Hardware Drivers tend not to be Signed.
There is a Simple way around this Block.
Open the Command Prompt in Admin Mode (Type "CMD" into the Start Menu and press "Ctrl+Shift+Enter") Enter this Command: bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS Now when you Re-Boot, You should be able to Install those Pesky Un-Signed Drivers.
