Installing New Device Drivers, Not Retaining Ghosted Drivers?
Jan 24, 2013
I'm taking a ghosted image to another machine. On the image I have my device drivers set with static IP (e.g. Local Area Connection 1 is the static IP I want). I have two local area connections, 1 and 2, and 1 is what I want it to be while 2 is a default Microsoft IP.I put that image onto another system and after loading it I don't have Local Area Connections 1 and 2 anymore but Local Area Connections 3 and 4. When I first boot, the computer says Device Drivers Successfully Installed. Why am I losing Local Area Connections 1 and 2 and thus creating 3 and 4 which both have default Microsoft IPs? I want to retain the Local Area Connection 1 that has the static IP that I desire.
This is pretty wierd actually.Im unable to update my Nvidia drivers, it keeps saying failed. After reading like hell on google and trying everything, i eventualy kinda gave up.When I went to install my chipset drivers, any type of driver, (i figured i needed to reinstall the motherboard drivers). I have a HP ML110g5 server which I have disconnected the smart array and connected a HDD via sata directly to the motherboard.when installing windows 7 "No device drivers were found etc."does anyone know where I can get the drivers (I assume for the HDD) so windows will recognise where to install windows.Bios does recognise the HDD.the HDD model is 9ca152-784 by seagate
When i plug in a new usb device, windows is supposed to look for updates to install the device right ? well in my case, it doesn't and i'm not able to access the pen-drive. On the other hand, if i try toplug in an old and previously used pen drive, it works perfectly.
I'm running Windows 7 32 bit and I just noticed that all my drivers for the USB controllers, Audio/Sound devices and the Networking internet (Broadcom Netxtreme Drivers) have all died. They indicate that a Code 39 is the problem. I tried to load some of the drivers but it wouldn't allow them to install. I did a last known configuration attempt, no results. Did a system restore and it gave me an error message saying it didn't restore properly. I am trying to get the drivers online, burn them to a disk and load them. I have no internet access on that PC and the USB ports obviously don't work. I can get drivers on this PC online. Some I can't find. I did the uninstall driver, disable, all the usual for this problem. I am stumped. Any recovery attempts produce nil results. Thanks to Microsoft, I have no installation disc to do a new install or a backup image.
i bought a new dell inspiron n 5010 and i have downloaded windows 7 professional(64 bit) from the MSDNAA account and burned the image on the DVD.In the bios of my laptop i set the sata mode to ahciwhen i try to install windows 7. it loads file completely but after install and next button click a dialog box appears with some message as "No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click ok."That message gives me 3 buttonsok, cancel and browse, neither of OK and CANCEL would let me through the install, and with browse i have tried to find those missing drivers but without succeed
What is the most efficient way to ensure that all device drivers are up to date? I am nervous about updating any drivers for fear of screwing up my laptop which seems to be running just fine. Thoughts? Also, there is a product, Device Doctor, that claims to identify and download updated drivers. Is this product safe? Can I rely on this product 100%?
Device drivers are not installed. A driver has not been installed for this device preventing it from working properly. The device driver for Network Controller has not been installed. This device will not be available until the correct device driver is installed.
1. Try installing the drivers using Windows Update.
2. Install the drivers that are on the installation media that came with the device.
3. Check with the manufacturer for an updated driver.
Explanation of Error Codes Generated by Device Manager.I have installed the driver for my network card, and the bluetooth driver. I'm not sure about drivers for a wireless connection, I don't know if they're included in the network card drivers or not. What's this network controller thing? And what driver would satisfy it? I'm on an Acer Aspire 5742ZG. Their driver support is pretty bad.Hardware Identification Fixed my problem. I found out using that website that the Network Controller was an Antheros Wireless Network Adapter. Antheros. When I installed my drivers and saw that I had a Broadcom LAN card, I assumed that I'd also have a Broadcom Wireless network adapter. Well nope. I deleted the Broadcom driver, installed the Antheros one and now the problem is fixed.
No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK.
Windows XP-32bit > 7-64bit
I have now spent many hours now on this and this is the latest error message i get after redownloading and going through all this malarky. I am getting very frustrated and heartly sick of MS. They are every example of a monopoly for the economist and will be for years.
It is an absolute disgrace that they never even got 10 students to try and download when they uploaded; it's just basic. The money I have spent buying it have been long exceeded at a personal cost in time. I feel cheated.
Well, after deleting Windows XP, Vista and Ubuntu and reinstalling 7 (32bit) as a single OS I maybe resolved my problem with Sapphire HD 3650 not working on 7 but now, when I install Windows 7 drivers (weird, my agp card gets recognized with normal drivers) and reboot I get BSOD before entering the login screen of Win 7. Any help?
I have a PCChips P23g ver 1.0 motherboard running windows 7, and I am adding a new SATA dvd drive. I am trying to update my sata driver, but I cannot find a driver package that works. I checked with my motherboard manufacturer website and it tells me to install VIA Hyperion Pro 4in1 Driver 5.24.
But when I try to install it, I get a message "Sorry, the install wizard can't find the proper component for the current platform. Press OK to terminate the install wizard." I have tried downloading several different copies of this driver package (each one is supposed to be compatible with windows 7 according to the site I downloaded it from), but none of them get past this message.
just bought compaq presario, win7, 64 bit laptop. trying to install hp officejet 4500 G510a printer driver. when type in www.hp.com, it takes me to www8.hp.com and a black and white HP screen. Am running Kaspersky Internet Security 2012. Takes forever to download. Save it to my docs folder. When it's done, I unzip it and run it. Steps me through the process, asks to plug printer in and then wait until it finds it.
I have an a6 3420m with 6520g graphics and I recently install windows 7 in virtualbox. However, I can't view it in fullscreen because it's using the generic drivers for the graphics. The best I can do is 1280x1024 even though my screen is 1600x900. I can't install the drivers off of the amd website because it can't detect my graphics hardware. This is my first time using virtualbox or anything like it.
I bought a new Dell Inspiron with Windows 7 pre-installed two years ago.
Recently, my computer has acquired a computer virus which slows down my computer, redirects select google entries and on my C Drive there are folders with names like "df4f0569299e83f51098af913b749bc2"
I have decided to reinstall Windows 7 using my original authentic Windows 7 CD that came with my Dell laptop. My intention is to keep my data on the hard disk. My DVD / CD drive works. Before installation is complete I get a message "No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers".
I see that this message is common after reading various threads. However, I am not so savvy when it comes to technical software, so things like "burning CDs", "upgrade Windows version", "built my own computer", "Bios", "32 bits vs 64" does not apply. Even after reading all the threads I still cannot make heads or tails of the recommended solutions.
I'm having some BSOD issue, I suspect, they'd be due to some drivers stuff and all.So anyway, I saw Device manufacturers had more updated drivers then the OEM (Acer Laptop here), do you think these generic drivers are worth a try or can they be harmful?
I'm on Windows 7 but it keeps automatically installing drivers from 2008 that are for Vista. I think this is one of the reasons I'm getting BSOD problems..And now it's saying they weren't installed correctly.
I need to copy and paste a file onto a USB stick for my PS3 but my laptop won't install the device drivers. It tries but fails every time. In my device manager I have a yellow exclamation mark next to unknown drivers but I cant update it. I don't understand, I have never seen it.
I've spent the afternoon building my new pc. My DVD Drive is an HP dvd1260i. When I put the windows 7 disk in and try to install it, I get the error "A required CD / DVD drive device driver is missing." The drive did come with a disk that includes Nero burner and on the front says includes drivers, but windows still won't recognize it.
