Install A Driver For My Network Adapter?

Nov 24, 2012

Okay so I have no clue how to do this. This message pops up every time I try to troubleshoot my internet connection. Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-install the driver. This is funny though because my network was working find but there was this issue with my laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium OA 32 bits) and I repaired and now the problem is gone but now I have the problem with my network. What do I do?

After a clean install on a new ssd I'm trying to get my network adapter to work. I put the driver files from the site onto a USB stick, went to devices> properties and then tried to install the drivers fro a file. Unfortunately, Win7 says there are no drivers found. On my laptop, WinZip keeps failing to extract the drivers from the ZIP. I downloaded it here:EDIT: I also tried downloading the file again in case the first got corrupted, but I get the same error each time.I also tried another driver from a product that looked very similair

No Internet.Network Access After Reboot?

Mar 5, 2012

I have a laptop with a Intel N6230 wireless card which I'm having a strange issue with. I can be connected fine to my wireless network but if I perform a reboot the laptop 'connects' to the network however has no internet access (nor can I access the router via its ip address). The only way i can get it working again is delete the wireless adapter via the device manager, let windows re discover and install it, and all is fine again - nothing else is required. It continues to work fine until I shut down and reboot where it drops again (sleep modes or hibernation do not cause any problem).

Network Connectivity But No Internet After Reboot

Nov 25, 2009

I'm running 7 Home Premium 64bit on an HP box we got about a month ago.

Lately, when I restart the system, I can't get any internet connection. I can access shares on my home network, so the nic is working and I'm getting an ip address from my router. If I disable and reenable the nic, the internet connection works again. I've tried disabling firewalls and things like that, but the only thing that fixes it is the disable/enable.

The network "troubleshooter" can't see anything wrong, and everything looks like it's configured properly, and nothing has been changes since the initial setup. It worked fine for a couple weeks and now doesn't.

Anyone seen this before? Hints? The disable/enable isn't a big deal but I know at some point I won't be home and my wife will have a problem and I'd rather not deal with that!

Network Shares Disappear After Router Reboot?

If I go to "Network" on any PC only the Media Servers are shown and if I go to the Media Players, no shares are shown. If I turn off all other PC's and THEN restart my main PC all shares appear again.I have been searching the Internet but haven't found anything that worked.

Network Places Remembering Old IP Settings After Reboot?

Nov 7, 2011

So, I have a class "A" IP Subnet in my home and a class "C" subnet. one is outside the "corporate" firewall and one is inside. My Laptop wireless always loves to obtain the 10.0.0.1 which is the ISA router/firewall. Obviously there is an IP conflict here because the TMG/ISA server/GATEWAY already has that..

This only happens after a reboot and the IP settings that it "desires" are the following:
IP: 10.0.0.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS: 192.168.1.1

It should be....
IP: 10.0.0.101
Subnet Mask: 255.0.0.0
Gateway: 10.0.0.1
DNS: 10.0.0.4 = MY DNS
DNS: 10.0.0.5 = MY DNS

Should I delete the network controller, or do I have to delve into the registry to get this crap sorted out? The Laptop ALWAYS connects to the N router but has a problem assigning the IP where it will just assign a bad IP or "first ip" in the sequence. There are times that I need to get beyond the firewall, and I need to assign it a class "c" but I don't understand why this should be having a bearing upon future connections. I have repeatedly reset the "arp" and DNS; to no avail.

I have typed this command at my last chance:
"netsh int ip reset c:
esetlog.txt"

Map Network Drive Fails To Retain Password After Reboot

Dec 21, 2009

I have Win 7 ver 6.1 (build 7600) on Desktop and I have a Linux server. I don't use a password to logon to windows.

I successfully mapped Linux drives using my Linux user (which happens to be the same as the windows user) but on Linux I have a password. All the mappings were OK (4 directories) asking me on each one username + password + ticking the box called "retain credentials".

All went OK until I rebooted, then a message pop-up that "could not reconnect all network drives"...appeared: => the old stupid message from win XP.

Ok I opened My computer and surprise: My user and my password from the sharing pop-up window were gone! I've inserted them again and all went OK.

I thought they solved the old windows XP problem which clears the user + password from the Network drive mapping IF you do not have the SAME password as the mapped drives.

What can I do to retain that User+Password combination for good in Win 7 Mapping?

Cannot Get Into Install / Reboot Loop

Mar 17, 2012

I built my own custom PC through parts I ordered from newegg last week. Putting the computer together was surprisingly the easy part, while installing a windows OS has been ridiculous. I tried installing windows xp for a few days after running into 0x7b bsod errors, finally getting it to the point it would set up and then would reboot and put the monitor in sleep mode. I tried vista which just immediately gave me the "putting the monitor to sleep" thing right after it said "starting windows." Now i'm trying windows 7 and I once again can't do it. It boots up and does the setting up windows bar, then when it goes to "starting windows" it reboots itself, and does that on repeat. I really hope somebody can help, it's incredibly disheartening to spend $500+ just to have it do anything within its power to not work. I've tried unplugging everything that isn't neccesary, running 1 stick of RAM, I've tried setting it to IDE, RAID, and HCPI. I have tried 2 separate Windows 7 discs. I've reformatted the HD (using xp) multiple times and tried multiple partitions. Windows 7 simply wont even let me get into the installation portion. [code]

Windows 7 64bit Crashes After First Reboot Following Install

Jun 23, 2010

I built a machine using the following components:

Gigabyte GV-N98TSL-1GB Fanless 9800GT 1GB GDDR3 PCI-E
Gigabyte GA-770TA-UD3 (rev 1.0)
Processor: AMD K2 2800MHz
Corsair: 2 x 2GB 1066MHz DDR3
HDD: Seagate 2 x 2TB ST32000542AS

Memory has been testing using program from [URL].I'm trying to install Windows 7 64-bit.I built another machine with the same motherboard, processor and RAM which works fine. The differences being between the two machines the Harddisks and Graphics card.On the machine Im having problems with I have two Seagate ST32000542AS 2TB setup as RAID harddisks and a Gigabyte graphics card.Windows 7 installs but after the first boot from the HDD it displays "Starting Windows" and then resets or displays the blue crash screen. I tried running in safe mode list drivers as it is booting. After disk.sys is loaded the computer freezes.Ive tried using the latest AMD RAID drivers from the gigabyte website for this motherboard during the installation, but now Im starting to think this maybe a graphics card driver problem are there any known issues with the Gigabyte graphics card Im using and Windows 7?Is there a way of loading the Graphics card driver automatically.

How can i resolve this issue?

Install Upgrade, After Final Reboot, No Boot

Nov 26, 2009

I have vista on my first partition, 7rc on the third (second is vista data).

I had read about how you could upgrade from the release candidate and wanted to try it. Everything seemed to go fine, until the very final reboot. (Windows was upgraded to the new version). I saw my regular boot menu again, but then windows restarted the machine one last time, and when it came back up it just sat there, nothing happened forever. And Vista won't boot anymore either - I do not even get a boot menu. Just a blank screen with a flashing cursor, and nothing happening....

I tried the repair options, but windows can't find any of my system restore points (I did set a number of them!) neither vista nor 7. From a command prompt I did try to run bcdedit and it shows that my original boot menu should still be there, but the system is unable to find it. I am completely stumped. Can someone please indicate what to do to get my system to boot?

Windows 7 Install Refuses To Reboot At Expanding Files?

Aug 25, 2011

So I'm trying to install Windows 7 via XP SP2 but every time I try it gets to the expanding files part(27%) and cancels the whole installation saying Windows could not prepare the computer too boot into the next phase. I ran a chkdsk scan on the drive and unplugged all USB devices and some people said that Windows couldn't find the HDD Controllers so I installed my chipset drivers too but still nothing.I can't really format these partitions(especially C: since I need the XP installation on it to install Win 7)What could be cause of this? Can a damaged or missing bootsector(or bootmgr) be to blame?

Clean Install Last Reboot Goes Into Black Screen / White Blinking

Dec 7, 2011

So, Im doing a clean windows 7 install. Here are the facts: [code] After the final stage of the setup where you enter PC name, set the password, enter time settings etc, the setup restarts the computer for the 'final' time, final indeed. What happens is that after the Bios / device scan, Windows won't boot and it won't continue past the black screen with the white blinking _ showing in the top left.Could this be because C: has been 'occupied' (or set as master partition) by the 1480GB partition and won't boot from the 105GB partition where Windows was installed? It's so weird because the first two reboots go without problem, no need to F8 and manually select the disk rather than the USB pen or anything.. But on the final reboot, nothing.

Display Driver Stopped Working - Will Not Reboot / Restart Loop

Jan 15, 2013

Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD4870 x2
Running on windows 7 x64 ultimate

I was browsing away and my whole pc froze, with a strange little box around my cursor, although the sound was still working, I force shut down it and restarted and little message popped up saying the display driver has stopped working, I tried multiple things to solve this, to no avail, eventually it kept happening and it got so bad the computer would not start, i tried all of the "F" keys on startup and none worked, eventually i took it to a shop who wiped everything clean and it worked again.

Around 2 months down the line low and behold the same problem happened again, I found a solution and installed a program called driver robot, I used it and installed many outdated drivers, this seemed to fix the problem. For about 6 months, now it has happened again, my computer has now shut down and goes into a constant restart loop, as it is doing this the screens that show up are littered with dots and lines of many colours, I just need workaround on this, preferably without loosing all of my files.
