I have a Cowon O2PMP that works like a champ in all aspects except one. Windows 7 on my home PC will not detect the device. It tries to then gives me the "cannot connect USB" message. Therefore I cannot add/remove any of the data on the device. I've tried searching for Win7 drivers for it but they're non-existent.I have brought the device to my work and it picks up just fine on my work PC. Both machines are running win7 Pro.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried to reformat my dads hard drive to reinstall windows 7. It was in 2 partitions, so I ran the windows 7 disc and it ran through the motions, I formatted the c to re-install windows and it wouldn't let me. I went into dos under diskpart to try and format it that way, still no luck. I connected it to my computer then under disk management deleted the 2 partitions so there was only 1 now which had the size i.e, 600GB Unallocated. I connected it back into my dads computer and ran the set-up again. Now the computer wont even detect the drive. I need to re-format the drive to like factory default, is this possible, also do I have to do it in dos.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy friend has an HP Pavilion DV6 Entertainment Notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit installed. It's only about 3 months old. I rebuilt the unit with a fresh copy of Win 7 HP 64bit as I did not want all the bloat-ware that came with the machine. The issue is that the unit is unable to see the optical drive (no optical drive icon). In the device manager, there is an exclamation mark next to the optical drive. It was working originally. Windows 7 normall takes care of the drivers for this drive doesn't it? Is the optical drive faulty. I've tried un-installing and re-installing but still hasn't corrected itself.

I Have Burn a CD In Win XP before i upgraded to Windows 7 i dont know why Windows 7 is not detecting it and only classes it as CDROM.

I have faced a problem just a few hours ago for the first time that my Ethernet Connection is not being detected.I have a Lenovo essentials b570-e laptop, with a core i5 processor and 2 GB Ram.I have never before experianced this problem. I have already tried via another cable, connecting it from the other way and stuff like that. It works on my Brother's Laptop. I also know for certain that is it not a hardware issue as I have tested it on a live boot from Ubuntu 11.10 that I had lying around and the internet worked perfectly fine. So I know that the problem is with windows.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI build a PC that's about a couple months old. All of the sudden one day I booted up and once the windows 7 boot logo shows up, the number lock light on my key board goes off and doesn't go back on. Once windows fully boots I move the mouse and nothing happens same goes for the keyboard. Also the Ethernet icon on the start bar shows there is no connection. It also indicates that there are no speakers hooked up, which there are. It seems like a driver issue, but all the drivers were installed and have been working fine for the few months that I've been using the system. Lso in device manager there are yellow triangles next to my Ethernet, sound card, and usb devises. And a message will show up at the bottom of the screen saying "installing devise drivers" then "devise drivers failed to install' or something like that.Maybe its a virus. View 1 Replies View RelatedJust today, I decided to reset the BIOS to default settings by resetting the CMOSI used a metal screwdriver to touch the two cmos pins on the motherboard. The problem is, the computer WAS turned off BUT I forgot to pull the plug out of the power supply before resetting the cmos which is what caused the problems. It ended up booting the computer so I waited for it to load and when it got to the screen that said loading operating system underneath it it said missing operating system. I've researched this and checked my bios settings to make sure the hdd was the first boot priority choice and it was. After a few failed tries to get it to work, I was almost convinced my hdd's were fried. I tried re-installing windows 7 by booting to the dvd first, but during installation, when i got to the box that makes me choose my hdd no hdd's were listed. I brought up the command prompt to do a chkdsk and I got the message "This drive is in raw format". After that, I turned the pc off, unplugged the power cord, and took the hdd's out. I reformatted them by connecting them to a startech device and connecting that to my laptop (which is not the tower the drives were originally connected to).
After reformatting to ntfs, I ran chkdsk /f/r on both my hdd's. After this, I'm convinced that my hdd's aren't fried otherwise the device wouldn't have picked them up in the first place. I thought they'd be good to go after the chkdsk ran on both of them but i'm having the same problems trying to re-install windows 7. The only progress now is, I can actually run chkdsk with the drives back in my tower which i'm doing right now.In the dialog box, it said something about loading drivers? I thought the computer would pick up the hdd's anyway because i've re-installed win7 before and never had these issues. So what's your suggestions? Am I going to have to find the drivers for the hdd's and install them before reinstalling win7
SO i have just built my first custom PC and I know it is all installed correctly, except possibly my hard drive. So I get to the window where I am supposed to select the drive where windows 7 will be installed. No drives are detected... so this means my hard drive isnt being recognized... I just got th 6822148837 and my case is weird, im not sure if i installed it all the way. My case is the Thermaltake Level 10 GT and it has hard drive slots and some kind of connector in the slot so that it plugs in automatically. I think it may not be connected fully, like I might need to attach a cord too.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer ended up with the malicious toolbar iminent. After multiple attempts to remove it I decided to reformat the computer, since my last backup is mercifully recent. However, when I attempted to run a repair disc, but in the middle of this I received the message in the thread's title. What's wrong? Is the repair disc something other than the disc I need? While writing this via my phone I'm currently trying an alternative of restoring my computer from a system image on my backup drive, I don't know if that will solve the problem. But even if it does, I think I should still try to find out what went wrong here for when something goes wrong in the future.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently updated from Vista to Windows 7. I installed all some of my old games (Victoria 2 and Mass Effect, to be specific) and neither works. I checked my graphics settings and according to the Device Manager I only have the "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter".
I know this is wrong, I've played dozens of games on Vista and never had this problems. I've been looking around some old forums, and apparently this is quite a common problem, BUT I bought my computer 2 and 1/2 years ago and I have no recorded nor can remember what exact model my graphics card is.
I seem to be in a catch 22. I need to install a driver for my PC to recognize my graphics card, but I need to be able to know what my graphics card is in order to do that, but since my computer can't detect it in the first place, I have no idea which it is. It is all quite frustrating and I just want to be able to play my games!
Yesterday I got a PC from a colleague once I started up the PC everything works fine, but since there was a lot of random programs on the pc, I decided to install my own version of Windows, Windows 7 Enterprise on it.When the whole installation was finished the computer started, everything worked fine. BUT the PC did not recognize the Nvidea Geforce 560ti video card. Since It worked fine before I re-installed windows, I am sure that there is nothing wrong with the cables, however I think it is a problem with the Bios configuration. (because that is what changes after a reboot right?)So, I try to change the Bios configuration to, booting both display PCU (i think) and PCI E, but this did not fix the problem.
My suggestions are; either to update the bios, but I'm not sure witch version I need.
Also, I could disable the onboard VGA standard 14mb videocard, but I did not try this because I'm afraid I will get a black screen, and I also read in different posts that the PC will automaticly re-install the standard VGA.I have been lingering around sevenforums for a while, I have always found my solutions here, but this time I'm in really big sh*t.To make things easier I will also post some information about my new PC.
1. Motherboard is from Foxconn, Its a FlamingBlade.
2. The CPU is Intel i7 ( i think.) dual core aswell.
3. Western Digital WD Blue250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
4.550 Watt LC-Power Silent Giant-Green Power Edition Non-Modular 80+

6. Corsair DDR3 4GB PC 1333 CL9 KIT (2x2GB)
7. BENQ 2220 HD, 22
At the moment I'm at work thats why I dont have Exact information regarding the Motherboard and the CPU. I will provide this information once I can.how can i get my computer to recogize the video card?
I have dell Vostro 3450. when i reformatted the disk and installed the Windows 7,wireless adaptor was not detected and also one of the USB port was not enabled.

Windows 7 Home Premium was provided by factory default as my OS. The system information of my machine clearly shows this is the version installed.all seemed to go fine until I started to set up user profiles. I wanted to check the built-in administrator settings throught the local users and groups manager (typing lusrmgr.msc on the start menu search) and the manager shows on its window a message reporting that my machine is not running Wndows 7 Home Premium, also says that this complement (the manager) cannot be used with my current version of Windows. Due to this situation I can't manage account properties.

I got a new laptop (W7) recently so I copied my iTunes library on to a external HDD and moved it to the new laptop. I tried to use it with my new laptop for the first time several days ago, but it wasn't detected.
When I plug it in or remove it the backlight comes on, but neither my laptop, iPod, or iTunes show any indication that the iPod is actually connected. No sync screen on the iPod, no data popping up in iTunes, no USB device connection manager on my toolbar. What's going on? I tried resetting the iPod, but that didn't work.
Yesterday, I decided to do a little experimenting. I tried my iPod with my new laptop. It didn't work. I tried both USB 2.0 ports but no dice. I poked around in the device manager and didn't see anything that I thought might correspond with an iPod. No "USB mass storage device" or anything like that.I tried my iPod with my old laptop and it did work.I decided to pop in my new laptop a never before opened flash drive that I purchased recently. It installed properly. I checked both USB ports and it was detected in both of them.
