Devices Are Not Detected In Device Manager - Windows 7
Jan 6, 2013
I formatted my new Satellite l855, and installed windows 7 instead of windows 8. See what is going in device manager. Screenshot:
Network devices are not detected at all (ethernet, and wireless). My AMD HD Radeon 7670M isn't detected I don't know what's going with those unrecognized devices (yellow) it's a new laptop, i just formatted it and installed windows. What should i do?
Specs:
Toshiba Satellite L855-B511
Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit
Intel (R) i7
AMD Radeon HD 7670M
8GB DDR3
Windows 7 64 Bit, does not detect ANY network adapters. We installed windows in August and it has been fine, now for some reason it simply doesn't detect any adapters at all and does not display a Network Adapters heading in the device manager folder treeThe hardware in question is an onboard LAN card on a ASUS Sabertooth X58 motherboard, the lan card is listed in the bios as a RTL8110SCLANI have checked to be sure that the device is enabled in the BIOS, as well as disabling other on board devices in case there was some kind of conflict. I also tried installing an add on LAN card and that card is not detected either. I have also reset the bios and removed the battery etc. I have tried reinstalling the chipset and other drivers and I ha
is disabled by default. If I enable it then exit and restart the Device Manager the option is disabled again. How can I PERMANENTLY by default let the hidden devices be shown? What are hidden devices at all?My USB printer in connected, turned on and working but it shows up only as hidden.Who has hidden it?How can I permanently unhide it for Device Manager?
OK so this is with my sisters laptop, everything was apparently fine one day & not working the next.I've read it may be a driver issue & have re-installed the correct (I think) driver version, but this hasn't fixed the problem.
I no longer show any storage media (flash, portableHD) in my computer when i plug them in. The sound chimes when they connect, they show in the device manager with an exclamation point, but i cannot access anything. Initially my flash drives would attempt to install drivers but fail, now nothing even pops up in the task bar to show it is connected.
Anything that it not storage related (mouse, keyboard, printer, phone charger) all work fine, they chime and pop up in the taskbar when they are plugged in like normal.
What i have tried with no success: Boot into safemode and uninstall everything under USB Controller.... in the device manager including hidden, use different usb ports, refresh, update drivers, nothing works.
Certain devices ("obsolete" flash drives, iPod) are undetected in Windows 7. There are no problems with my mouse and wireless adapter, which are USB. I have tried connecting previously undetected devices through the same ports that detect the mouse and wireless adapter, which has made me further suspect the problem being with the ports, thus possibly drivers, rather than the devices (since the devices are still undetected).
I have also tried uninstalling all USB ports in Device Manager before restarting Windows, which didn't help.
Another related concern is whether the motherboard driver(s) is(are) up-to-date. I have an Intel Desktop Board LGA775 and cannot find the proper download for an update. This may fix the problem.
recently, in my Win 7 32 bit SP1, USB devices like keyboard and mouse are getting undetected and detected every now and then. Troubleshooting shows "hardware changes might not have been detected". All the drivers are up to date. Sometimes the computer showed that there was a power surge in the USB hub. I think the USB hub is losing power every now and then
OS is windows 7 ultimate 32-bit/i am using high definition audio device from Microsoft speaker, mic and headphones are working front panel and back is also working..my speaker and the mic from this headset is working, but when i tried to use the headphones and the mic together, the headset is not listed or detected in the playback devices! i cant set my headphones to default because it is not displayed, and when i tried to unplug my speaker, still it doesnt recognize that i have my headphones plugged.i tried install my sound device(VIA HD audio device ) my speakers and headset are working at the same time but my mic is not recognized, but when i uninstalled it, i got my first problem regarding the sound devices but when i installed Realtek, same result with the first one that Microsoft is my audio device.
Have recently purchased a small usb inspection snake camera with led light and when testing it plugged it into two desktops computers (one xp pro not sure of the other as it was a network work computer) It automatically loaded the drivers and brought up a screen automatically with the realtime image.(no driver disc came with it). However plugging into my windows 7 64bit sony laptop it signals a connection beep, loaded drivers automatically but wouldn't open or show up on my computer disc manager as an external usb source to click on. It does however show up on device manager as a usb camera and when I unplug and replug in it disappears and reappears so I know I have the right camera (not the lap top webcam inbuilt one that shows USB 2 Camera). Have tried updating drivers automatically and uninstalling it etc. Need it to work on the lap top so it can act as the movable screen for it?
If i remove/uninstall 'High Definition Audio Device' Driver in Device Manager will Windows Update find it again?Because im having crackling issues basicly the sound is really choppy and choppy basicly and it makes my ram go to 100%
I just bought a new ASUS computer with Windows 7. I have a Macbook Pro and would like to transfer my photos and music onto my new computer. I have 2 external hard drives that work perfectly fine on my mac as well as other PCs. When I plug either of my external hard drives in they are recognized in device manager and say they are working properly but are not recognized in disk manager or under my computer...
I have a hp pavilion dv9700 running windows 7 home premium, and the atheros wireless device keeps disapearing out of the device manager and stops working sometimes it works again if i reboot ,i have tried a replacement but the same happens.
How do i figure out what driver or even component windows wants software for when in the device manager under other devices it lists an unknown device and windows update cannot find anything.
Oh and is it appropriate for me to use this topic to ask another question regarding explorer.exe as while i am inside a folder i delete (by choosing delete from the context menu in the tree view) while inside that folder on this particular laptop PC explorer. always crashes, collect information, sends it and restarts explorer. I have not experienced this problem on any other pc running any version of windows 7, oh and the same happened with build 7264 x32 and the current install of build 7600 x64.
My device shows in device manager with yellow exclamation. when try to update it says my drives are up to date when i restart it tells me cant find suitable drives for this device.
After installing Windows 7, I got the message near de loudspeaker icon "no output device detected" and a red cross. When I go to control panel, sounds, I do not see anything written when I click the play-back button. My PC is a Packard Bell Imedia. The sound worked well until I installed Avast antivirus and Windows updates.
Recently my audio manager pops up advising that I have diconnected my speakers however, I'll be listening to music or watching tv with no sound loss or interuption. Device manager indicates all drivers are up to date (vers: 6.0.1.6251). What's causing this and how do I correct it?
this device is being used by another application. please close any devices that are playing audio to this device and try again. is what it is saying when i try to test , its hdmi ti hdmi from pc to tv i got picture but no audio and cable works fine on frineds pc and tv?
I have a Lenovo Thinkcentre M55 8813-a21 (LKRYA75). The sound works just fine in any Ubuntu installation i do, but I cannot get sound in either XP or Windows 7. I also couldn't get the networking drivers to work in XP so I am now on Windows 7. I have tried the driver download page on the Lenovo website, but none of them work. I don't know where to go from here.
I don't have any sound in my pc, there's a red cross on the volume symbol that says "No audio device installed", in device manager it doesnt appear any audio devices, I already downloaded the latest drivers from Asus but when I run it it says "No hardware detected", i already saw some threads in here with the same problem but couldnt find a solution. My motherboard is a Asus MAximus Formula and the audio is a Supreme FX II. I already tried to upgrade windows 7 with no results.
I got a new hard drive for my HP Pavilion DV6T-6000. Installed windows 7 ultimate and a bunch of drivers from HP's drivers section for my computer and I still have this unkown device. It wasn't there on my old drive so something isn't right here.
Location: on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System
Status: The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) There is no driver selected for the device information set or element. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver. Hardware ID:ACPIHPQ0004
i cant install nvidia drivers " this graphics driver could not find compatible graphic hardware", and i can't see my nvidia card on the device manager, and can't get the hardware ID, it looks like my laptop doesn't have this graphic card installed.
my latop is: ASUS - K52JC
2 graphics card, intel shared, and separated nvidia ( 310m cuda - 1GB )
i tried to follow this procedure, Fix Latest nVidia Mobility Driver to Fit Your Notebook
but couldn't find device ID, because it is not listed on device manager
When I disable the network controller in Device Manager, the controller is disabled but nothing changes in Device Manager to identify the device as being disabled. When I used to do the same thing in Windows XP, the device icon turned yellow. Is there some setting to identify disabled devices in Win 7's Device Manager?
So im having issues with my PNY 8gb Flash drive that im trying to use to install 7 onto my desktop. The problem is that whenever I insert it into my computer and try and boot off it, (Clean install btw) even though the bios menus detect the drive when I boot it acts as though it didnt insert. I need my desktop.
After recently fixing my issue with Intel's HD graphics not installing properly it came to my attention that Device Manager sometimes cannot detect the Intel Driver in Display adapters, to be precise IF i shut-down the PC then boot it won't show Intel's HD Driver it only shows this
whenever my computer restarts it gives me a message that says 'no boot sector on internal hard drive' then after a second a message pops up that says something a long the lines of 'press r1 to try reboot', etc ..everytime I hit f1 the computer will load up windows 7 fine though. But for some reason every single time I restart if gives me that 'no boot sector on internal hard drive' message
i installed driver hp and successfully install driver.HP ProBook 4530s Notebook PC*-* Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center. But still in device manager not installed and when try for Bluetooth software. it show this message: no bluetooth device was detected. please make sure that your bluetooth device is plugged

I installed Win7 Pro no hastles and updated it. Installed all the latest drivers etc.Left the PC while it was downloading something and came back to find the Network connection had disappeared. Restarted several times between loading on the newest drivers from Realtek. Each time I checked the device manager I was unable to locate the network device options. Each time i tried to re-install the drivers it would give me a message about "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. IF Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable". After doing some reading about it I tried removing the RAM and BIOS battery but to no avail. So I tried updating the UEFI from ASROCK, the existing version was 1.3 and I updated to 1.5. After doing that I was no longer able to load into windows. I read further that if windows had been installed with disk setting set to IDE instead of AHCI it would not work. I could not recall If I had enabled AHCI or IDE so I tried every combination I could come up with but no luck. I then tried to re-install windows but after it installs and reboots the pc it goes to the completing installation screen. I have some mouse control for a short period and then it seems to freeze. However the 3 little progress dots on the screen continue to move eternally. I tried rolling the UEFI version back to 1.3 and ran the same process again and the same result.
It's been several hours since i wrote that part. Since then I have managed to get windows 7 to install. The network device was recognised and worked correctly. I immediately disabled sleep mode for the network device. I updated windows and installed all the required drivers again. Then all of a sudden the connection drops again and no network device can be found. I then go and get the PCIe Intel network card from my previous machine which I had bought due to a faulty onboard network device. I disabled the on board LAN device in the UEFI and then shut down. Installed the Intel Network Card and rebooted. Windows does not find it even when I try and add a device.
Only other thing I can think of is to try and install on a regular SATA drive and see if it's some kind of conflict with the SSD.
I could really do with some help. Just installed W7 64 but when I come to install drivers it cannot even detect my x-fi SB at all. Thus I cannot install the driver. No sound at all - I am at a loss. Does anyone have a solution? ps I have a ASUS ABN-SLI Nvidia chipset.
