recently, in my Win 7 32 bit SP1, USB devices like keyboard and mouse are getting undetected and detected every now and then. Troubleshooting shows "hardware changes might not have been detected". All the drivers are up to date. Sometimes the computer showed that there was a power surge in the USB hub. I think the USB hub is losing power every now and then
View 3 RepliesI recently went into my computer to install a Corsair H80 Water pump for the GPU. Anyhow, after i connected all the cables and turned on the computer again i did not have any sound. Even though im not an expert with computers, i'm pretty sure all the cables are connected right (but there is always a possibility i screwed up there).I do have sound devices, that is not the issue. After the first pc boot i had the Realtek digital output (realtek high definition audio) as the sound device. I went into the control panel and pressed sound. The previous audio device (that i had and was working) was there, but stated as "Not plugged in".So, my computer does not detect or react as i connect any headsets nor speakers. I also checked the audio in the mixer to see that it "plays sound" which i can confirm.I have searched the web for people with the same issues and tried a few "solutions" but none of them worked for me.They were:
1. Uninstall and reinstalling the drivers
2. Making sure i got the latest versions of the drivers
3. Turning on the front jack panel in the Realtek HD Audio Manager, which resulted with the speakers apparing to be connected and works according to the computer but still no sound.
4. Tried different speakers and headphones.
After trying several things im starting to believe it might be me who failed at connecting the computer. But if so i have no idea how to fix it, as it does not matter if i connect the audio cable instead of the HD audio cable or if i leave them unconnected.My os is Windows 7 Ultimate.I got an Intel motherbord DX58SO and my sound device/card is Realtek high definition audio?
OK so this is with my sisters laptop, everything was apparently fine one day & not working the next.I've read it may be a driver issue & have re-installed the correct (I think) driver version, but this hasn't fixed the problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI no longer show any storage media (flash,portableHD) in my computer when i plug them in. The sound chimes when they connect, they show in the device manager with an exclamation point, but i cannot access anything. Initially my flash drives would attempt to install drivers but fail, now nothing even pops up in the task bar to show it is connected.
Anything that it not storage related (mouse,keyboard,printer,phone charger) all work fine, they chime and pop up in the taskbar when they are plugged in like normal.
What i have tried with no success: Boot into safemode and uninstall everything under USB Controller.... in the device manager including hidden, use different usb ports, refresh, update drivers, nothing works.
Certain devices ("obsolete" flash drives, iPod) are undetected in Windows 7. There are no problems with my mouse and wireless adapter, which are USB. I have tried connecting previously undetected devices through the same ports that detect the mouse and wireless adapter, which has made me further suspect the problem being with the ports, thus possibly drivers, rather than the devices (since the devices are still undetected).
I have also tried uninstalling all USB ports in Device Manager before restarting Windows, which didn't help.
Another related concern is whether the motherboard driver(s) is(are) up-to-date. I have an Intel Desktop Board LGA775 and cannot find the proper download for an update. This may fix the problem.
Suggestions?
OS is windows 7 ultimate 32-bit/i am using high definition audio device from Microsoft speaker, mic and headphones are working front panel and back is also working..my speaker and the mic from this headset is working, but when i tried to use the headphones and the mic together, the headset is not listed or detected in the playback devices! i cant set my headphones to default because it is not displayed,and when i tried to unplug my speaker,still it doesnt recognize that i have my headphones plugged.i tried install my sound device(VIA HD audio device ) my speakers and headset are working at the same time but my mic is not recognized, but when i uninstalled it, i got my first problem regarding the sound devices but when i installed Realtek, same result with the first one that Microsoft is my audio device.

Network devices are not detected at all (ethernet, and wireless). My AMD HD Radeon 7670M isn't detected I don't know what's going with those unrecognized devices (yellow) it's a new laptop, i just formatted it and installed windows. What should i do?

I can't get my bluetooth adapter to get detected on my Windows Seven 64 bit. I'm trying to install broadcom, but it keeps saying the device is not detected, preventing me from doing the installation.I tried the things on this thread: Belkin F8T016 Mini-USB Bluetooth Dongle But it's still undetected in my computer and I'm not sure what to do at this point.

I want to set up an SSD and move the OS over to it. When I initially tried I got the error message that guy had: 'windows can not be installed to this disk.' I've got an ASRock Z68 Extreme4 MB and Im trying to put in a SanDisk Extreme 120GB SSD (extreme enough for you?). I initially had my SSD plugged into a Marvell socket, same as the other guy, which is when I found that thread. I switched the Sata cables around so I had
SATA3_0: New SSD
SATA3_1: Old HDD
SATA2_2: TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-222 ATAPI
SATA2_3: Not Detected
SATA2_4: Not Detected
SATA2_5: Not Detected
and then switched SATA mode to AHCI and enabled SMART. However, when I saved these changes and went back into a normal bootup, I got into a reboot cycle. I would get to the 'starting windows' screen and stay on it for 5 or 10 secs, then my computer would reboot. I tried tinkering around with some BIOS options, but I couldnt get anything to work. Eventually I unplugged my SSD and plugged my HDD into its original spot. I also went back to IDE and turned off SMART. Now it seems like everything works fine, but my SSD still isnt set up. How can I fix this?
Edit: After some more testing I found that having the SSD plugged into where the HDD used to be and plugging the HDD into a new spot was fine (this is the arrangement I wish to end up with). When I enable SMART it works fine too, but when I turn on AHCI I get into the reboot cycle. I also noticed that right before my computer reboots I get a blue screen for a split second - not enough time to read anything.
I am new to Windows 7. On TV, the sales people always show 10 or 15 programs that are open on the taskbar and they use a key combination and then each of the programs scrolls one behind the other.

- POST screen
- Checking-for-bootable-drives screen
- Windows logo screen
- White text reading 'autochk not found - skipping autocheck' on an otherwise blank, black screen
- VERY brief flash of what looks like the same blue as a BSOD with very few words right at the top
- Automatic restart
- Back to the POST screen, etc, etc, etc...
I can still happily boot into the Windows 7 CD and GParted (they're the only bootable discs I have).If you will, please take the time to read my final post (the other posts may be useful aswell) on this thread, as it contains useful information on what caused the cycle (and what I have already tried) and has some screenshots (this thread is more of a continuation of the aformentioned one).
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.I use the desktop slideshow feature, directed to a folder in my pictures folder that I named desktop slideshow, I have about 1000 images in there, it's set to change image once every 30 seconds.Here is the problem, I tend to see the same 20 images or so go by over and over, and only once or twice in each loop does a new image show up, eventually I see a great number, but it tends to favor those same 20 or so images predominantly.They don't have similar names, they are widely differing in size, dimensions, and every other aspect. But for some reason the slideshow tends to pick them to go by more than anything else. I removed the images, and it chooses another 20 or 30 seemingly at random to give priority over the rest, only slipping in a random one between those repeated choices once or twice in each loop again.
So here is my question, does anyone know what criteria or method is used to cycle the images in the desktop slideshow? The whole reason I started using it was because I like the idea of seeing any one of a thousand or more pictures on my screen when I close a window, and it's kind of nice to have something I'm working on in my main screen while random art goes by on my second monitor, but with the same images repeated, it sort of loses the appeal.So far my only option has been to remove the over used images after a while and cycle in some of the old ones I removed before. But that's not really all that satisfying a solution.I searched around google, talked to some friends, and generally applied my brain to the issue for a few months without any breakthrough, and decided to seek some info from this forum since it seems to be fairly chocked full of people who have considerable knowledge of the concerned operating system, big surprise considering that is the point of the forum eh?
I am on an Acer Aspire M5100 desktop that came with Vista 32x preinstalled. I bought a ATI Radeon HD 4550 months ago that worked fine on Vista. I wanted to install Windows 7 64x Home Premium, so I bought a copy through Microsoft, created a boot disk, removed all non-original components (including graphics card), and did a clean install. I installed all my additional hardware and everything worked fine until my graphics card.
When I installed my graphics card, I downloaded the most up to date drivers (I got the link from this site), and rebooted. Upon reboot, my BIOS load, Windows starts to load, and then I get a blue screen. The blue screen flashes by so quick I can't read what they're saying. Then my computer restarts, and we start over again (blue screen cycle).
So I reconnected to the onboard gpu, and it started. Then I went into the Device manager, and uninstalled the old driver. Reinstalled my Radeon 4550, and current drivers, rebooted, nothing. Tried reinstalling windows 7, this time, removing old drivers first, than installing. Still nothing. This happens every time I enable the video card and then reboot.
I'm a noob so I've searched this site up and down. I've heard that maybe I need to update my BIOS. So I went to Acer.com to download the BIOs, and they don't have any listed for my PC.
With that said, I'm at my wits end. If anybody has any thoughts on what to do next, I truly appreciate it.
I was having issues with my optical drive and foolishly followed the advice of Emachines tech support. I performed a system restore to original factory settings that was supposed to move my user files to cbackup. It all failed. My computer now gets stuck on "Windows is loading setup files" or something, and the. I get a dialogue box saying installation failed and would continue after restart.I have tried using a system recovery disc, and get the same issues. I have tried to get it to boot in safe mode, last known good, and get the same error and restart cycle. Memory tests show no issues and I am at my last wit because there were important documents and photos I can't ever get back. I do have a backup drive but it was a few hundred gigs too small, and so I couldn't backup everything I need

I was clearing up some space on my computer after using the Norton Removal Tool to get rid of this Norton trial popup that came up everytime I booted my computer. Now, after it told me to restart, it seems to be stuck in an endless boot cycle that resets itself after showing the Windows logo. I've since tried running startup repair, which freezes as it shows the progress bar for 'Windows is loading files'. Safe mode will not work, either. It just sends it back into the boot cycle. Not sure what to do at this point. My computer came pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, so I don't have any startup discs.

I don't remember making any changes however, I just became unable to connect.I having done a little troubleshooting.1. I can connect to the shares of my Windows Home Server if I use the IP address. The name does not resolve.2. Flushed DNS and restarting DNS server. Flushing DNS works on one client, to allow browsing by the name & restarting DNS works on the other. However neither works after a restart.3. Only my Wifi clients are experiencing this issue. View 1 Replies View RelatedSince installing Windows 7 Ultimate, Devices has been showing my laptop icon with the yellow triangle/exclamation mark symbol next to it.
When I right click and go to Properties > Hardware the first entry is Unknown Device and it shows the same warning symbol.
The right click drop-down box's Troubleshoot, just above Properties, also has this warning symbol next to it but when I run Troubleshoot it is unable to fix the problem.
Device Manager shows Other Devices > Unknown Device, again with the yellow triangle/exclamation mark.
Right clicking Unknown Device and going to Properties > Details > Hardware IDs shows ACPI/HPQ0006 and on the second line *HPQ0006
I have uninstalled it via Device Manager but it just re-installs when I re-boot and I am back to square one!
My laptop is a Compaq Presario C350EA with Windows 7, 32-bit, installed and as far as I can tell, it is working OK but I am a little concerned about these warning symbols.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate and am trying to setup a backup of some files using the inbuilt 'Set UP Backup' utility but in the list of backup destination devices I can only see the DVD drive even thought I have a USB stick plugged in. I have tried the USB stick in all 3 available ports but no luck.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been having this wierd problem since a few months now.Ever since I reactivated my onboard sound card (I needed to do this since my mic was making wierd noises in Skype) in BIOS one of my playback devices disconnects randomly from the list, but reappears after a restart.This is very annoying as I need that card to use the really good equalizer in my TV which makes my speakers sound great.I have three sounds cards: AMD High Definition Audio Device (From GPU, used for my speakers) <-- This is the one that disconnects ASUS Xonar Essence STX (For music production and headphone listening) SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio (Used for microphone) Facts:
1. The sound card still appears and seems functional in Device Manager
2. The sound card still appears in Playback Devices, but in the "Disconnected Devices"-list
This is what I've tried:- Reinstalling drivers Deactivating/activating devices in Device Manager Installing older drivers I know my way around windows so there's no need to be beginner friendly, I'll ask if I don't understand.
every time I clicked on my devices and printers section, it will never fully load. The green loading bar will only get so far then it would just sit there and not load anything. Also it won't load no matter which path I take. I have tried to research solutions for this matter such as I have tried putting my bluetooth on enabled, turning off my printer spooler and removing ccleaner but nothing has helped.
