Graphics Drivers Issues After Reinstall / Black Stripes And Slow Redraw

Apr 29, 2012

Recently I decided to finally reinstall my Windows 7, since it was ~2yrs old and getting slower each day. I used the official MSDN Windows 7 Professional ISO SP1 and did a clean install. Unfortunately, I've been having this problem which I can't solve no matter what. It seems to me that there's some graphics issues - When resizing any window, it takes some tome while it redraws it's contents, you can actually see it updating the contents. Also, there's some sort of flickering involved as well.Machine in question is: HP ProBook 4515s With AMD/ATi HD 4330, running Windows 7 32bit SP1.I have tried the following, without success:

- the default drivers on the HP website
- the drivers provided by windows update service
- latest mobile drivers from AMD
- modded drivers with Mobility Modder
- Aero On / Aero Off / Disabling every visual effect
- Updating BIOS
- Doing the same on x64 version of windows.

I have DirectX updated, and all other patches and drivers should be there as well.

Cannot Install New Graphics Card Drivers - Forcing To Reinstall Windows 7

Jan 4, 2013

I just recently got a new SSD and wanted to start fresh with a new Windows 7 install. Thus I dc'd everything and successfully installed windwos 7 professional. However, after I update my graphics card driver (Radeon HD 5xxx series). I get a screen without icons, start menu or anything except the background. Pressing CTR-ALT-DEL gives me a blackscreen, forcing me to reinstall windows again. I tried different version of Catalyst control center (10.4 and the latest one) and they both give the same error.

Windows 7 Boots To Black Screen After Reinstall?

Feb 13, 2013

So this started out as a driver issue - I couldn't seem to install the updated drivers for my ati radeon hd 5 series (I don't have access to my actual specs right now) video card no matter what I tried. Each time it would seemingly revert to the awful on-board graphics and I would have to perform a system restore to correct it. Rinse and repeat. Eventually, I tried one forum poster's recommendation of updating my bios, which managed to bork the computer so bad that it broke the system restore function altogether. So, time to reinstall windows. The computer is a dell xps9100 and didn't come with a windows 7 cd, so I restored to the factory image of windows 7 through the advanced boot menu. It seemed to work, but when it rebooted I got the windows logo and then nothing (black screen, no cursor).

Graphics Going Black While Playing WOW

Sep 20, 2012

Since the last patch the graphics are going black. The characters gear turn black, the scenary turns black. If I go to "system" "graphics" and hit "recommended" the whole screen goes black for a second or two, then comes back up and everything runs normally for a little while. When I zone into a different area, it does it again. It is doing it on my desktop and laptop so it has to have something to do with the game.

Computer Super Slow After Complete Windows 7 Reinstall

Feb 3, 2013

I got some bad malware and removed it with a complete re-install of windows 7. I deleted all partitions and re-installed Windows 7 from that point. I went to the Gateway website and got all of the drivers for the equipment on the computer and it still runs painfully slow. I've run CCcleaner several times, done DSKCHK (because I suspected my hard drive might be faulty) and everything says I have no problems.

Slow AMD Radeon HD 5450 Graphics Card?

Aug 24, 2012

The performance scores on my less than 2 year old computer are :- Processor & memory, both 7.3 Graphics 4.6 gaming 6.1 and hard disk 5.9. I have tried AMD fo poor graphics score, they suggested downloading their latest Catalyst driver suite. I followed their instructions to the letter and, no change. They now suggest that I upgrade to their Firepro range. As a pensioner, I never intend to play games on my computer, but do intend to try and record the family's life in photo slide shows and video, so only need the graphics side of the graphics card to work well.As I seem to have a slow card, I thought I'd go up on the internet and buy a faster one for £50 approx. (I want an AMD/ATI card, as I have an AMD Athlon quad core processor.) Trouble is all the review sites only deal with the gaming speeds of the cards, not the side I would use for video editing. So can anyone tell me, or guide me towards a web site that can, how to choose a reasonably good compatible graphics card that is geared towards video and photo editing

Laptop - Black Screen - Graphics Driver Radeon MV350

Jun 29, 2009

- Win 7 RC 7100 32 bit does not load the correct graphics card driver and even the boot menu is not displayed correctly (fuzzy black screen, issue known from Ubuntu installations where it was solved by adapting boot loader specifications…) I do know however, that the boot menu is loaded correctly as “arrow down” + “enter” starts XP without any issues.

Win 7 is somewhat loaded, when hitting “enter” only in what I think must be the boot menue. Harddrive gets active and for 5 secons I even get a “black screen in normal resolution” with the arrow displayed correctly. Then unfortunately returning to fuzzy mode.

Questions:

- How to boot Win 7 in vga or graphics modus being blinded? When hitting F8 hard drive reacts differently, but how then to select the right boot option without seeing anything?
- Is there an option to install a different graphics card driver into win 7 via the working XP?
- Is there an option to modify the boot menu’s options via working XP, e.g., setting to vga modus (that did the trick for Ubuntu).
- Any experience with Radeon Mobility 9600 (MV350) under Win 7?

External Graphics Card Causing Slow Home Page Loads

Aug 10, 2012

I have a new HP Pavillion Slimline Model s5-1224 running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on SP1 with Intel Pentium 2.8 Ghz processor, 6 GB Ram and and a 900 GB (800 GB free) HD. I have an external graphics card (Triton TRI-UV150) connected via USB to accomodate Dual HP 2010 Wide LCD monitors.

When the graphics card is connected to the CPU, it takes upwards of 1-2 minutes to load the homepage (Google). Without the graphics card connection, home page load is almost instantaneous.

I have uninstalled/re-installed the graphics card driver with the help of the manufacturers' tech support and the issue is still not resolved. Manufacturer states that "the driver cannot cause slow page loads" but it only happens when the card is connected to the CPU.

Slow Downs Then Black Screen After Post?

Jul 10, 2010

It started yesterday when my wife and I noticed the computer hanging a bit more than normal - even when doing basic things, like clicking "login" to check our email. But, it would always come back and really wasn't all that frequent. This morning I tried to start it up and it got stuck on a black screen after the motherboard POST image. I was able to get into BIOS and boot from the windows CD. A system restore fixed it. I'm just wondering what you guys think was likely to have caused it. Is it likely that my boot files got corrupted somehow? I ran a diagnostic and from Seagate and it says that my hard drive is fine - but I'm not sure if that's just because I recently restored Windows.I did recently install a big name game - but it ran fine for three days before this happened. The system restore point I had was from when I installed it, so it's now gone. What do you guys think could have caused it? I'm just a little concerned that restoring only patched over a problem that will crop up again - or, that I should be afraid to install that game again.PS: System Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, 3.0GHz E8400 Intel CPU, 500GB Seagate SATA HDD, 4GB Crucial 800MHz RAM (x2 2GB), ASUS P5Q Pro Turbo LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard. Must Reinstall NIC And USB Drivers After Every Reboot

Nov 6, 2009

firstly, I'm running a gigabyte P35 motherboard with a quad core processor and 2 gigs of ram and an Intel chip-set etc. As for hardware, everything is ok and I've had no problems up until now.

About 4 days ago, after rebooting my pc, I noticed firstly that my internet was not working. My pc was telling me that there was no network available to connect to. I did the usual things like power off my router, unplug the ethernet cable from the pc, restart the pc etc, nothing worked. I then thought that perhaps there was a driver problem. I uninstalled my router, and reinstalled the driver again. Lo and behold, it was working.

However I then noticed under my USB devices in device manager that they all had the little yellow " ! " mark and none were working. I had to uninstall and reinstall all those drivers again, same as with the NIC, and they worked.

I had hoped that this was the end of that bizarre incident but that was not the case. After a reboot, the same thing happened again. Since that time, every reboot has yielded the same results and it is a real pain in the ass to have to reinstall everything again, and again, and again.

I have no idea what the problem could be as I had no updated anything or installed anything new for this to happen. I've been reading through these forums and noticed one person having a similar USB problem but I believe mine may be a little bit different so any light that could be shed on this would be more than appreciated.

Reinstall Win 7, Many Missing Drivers

Nov 10, 2009

With the help of MS Tech Support on the phone [got right through!] he explained how to get rid of all my annoying partitiions. So, both drives were wiped out and made into single primary partitions.

I then installed Vista but had problems with a few of the drivers. A couple of them failed, but they were like 'touchpad' and such. Nothing that I saw as critical.

The minute Vista was complete, I custom installed Win 7 and it went well, execpt that it did say it could not find some drivers--of course, it did NOT say WHICH drivers! It just says, driver missing, click to browse or install.

I have no idea which one, or where it is.

So, rebooted to Win 7 and a few issues:

1: it knows the second hard drive is present and working, but it does not show in My Computer or Explorer. That is my biggest issue.

2: I have been installing second monitors on many machines for years, but this time, Win 7 can't seem to find my large moniitor. It worked before with Vista and it worked before with the first insall of Win 7.

It says missing drivers in the screen shots, but are these Vista drivers it wants? Or Win 7 drivers?

Cannot Reinstall OS , It Says There Are No Signed Drivers?

Dec 11, 2012

My computer began acting weird a few days ago. The wireless service was not working. I tried manually starting the service but it gave me errors. I decided I would just reset to an earlier config, but to my amazement all of the backups were gone. In addition, I couldn't reset to factory setting, as it gave me weird errors. I thought it might have been a virus or something so I proceeded to wipe the hard drive with some random program I found on cnet. However after starting the program it gave me the BSOD, and now whenever I boot the computer, it would ask me to install the OS. Normally, this would be fine, but whenever I try to install it (from the windows 7 CD), it always gave me a "no signed drivers detected" message near the bottom. On the screen, my hard drive and unused space also do not show up. So now, my computer just sits there without an OS. I am at a loss as to what to do. If anyone needs additional information,

TL;DR: My comp has no OS and I cannot reinstall because it says there are no signed drivers.

Windows Won't Let Me Reinstall Sound Drivers

Aug 13, 2011

[code]...

How problem came about: The other day i restarted my computer. during the blue "Shutting Down..." screen, my computer said it was installing Windows Updates, "Installing 1 of 99... Do not power off". I pulled the laptop onto my lap and out comes the power plug! (My comp's batteries are shot and relies on the power cord). Well i shut down my computer during the screen that said "installing updates, do not shut down." Since then, audio hasn't worked.

When the computer booted up again, the sound didn't work. So I tried letting windows updates finish updating which it did successfully. But my sound drivers, webcam drivers, and modem drivers don't work and wont install. (Right now i just want to fix my sound).

Laptop OS Reinstall After Ssd Upgrade - No Drivers?

Sep 16, 2012

I recently bought a samsung NP-300V5A laptop for compsci at school, and picked it due to the fact that out of all the laptops at microcenter, this one was at a reasonable price with an i7 2670qm, however, coming from building 3 of my own very high end desktops (3930k w/ gtx 690 & ssd's) the 5400 rpm drive just was unbearable, so I went out and picked up a crucial M4, and replaced it. I also bought a copy of windows 7 home premium OEM and tried booting from that dvd, and it would not work, I just got a backlight loop, so I inserted the Samsung recovery install disc, and used it to install windows, worked just the same as any other win7 install, however, my internet is not working now, and my laptop's monitor/display is recognized as a generic nonPnP and won't go to its max resolution.
