Laptop - Black Screen - Graphics Driver Radeon MV350
Jun 29, 2009
- Win 7 RC 7100 32 bit does not load the correct graphics card driver and even the boot menu is not displayed correctly (fuzzy black screen, issue known from Ubuntu installations where it was solved by adapting boot loader specifications…) I do know however, that the boot menu is loaded correctly as “arrow down” + “enter” starts XP without any issues.
Win 7 is somewhat loaded, when hitting “enter” only in what I think must be the boot menue. Harddrive gets active and for 5 secons I even get a “black screen in normal resolution” with the arrow displayed correctly. Then unfortunately returning to fuzzy mode.
Questions:
- How to boot Win 7 in vga or graphics modus being blinded? When hitting F8 hard drive reacts differently, but how then to select the right boot option without seeing anything?
- Is there an option to install a different graphics card driver into win 7 via the working XP?
- Is there an option to modify the boot menu’s options via working XP, e.g., setting to vga modus (that did the trick for Ubuntu).
- Any experience with Radeon Mobility 9600 (MV350) under Win 7?
I've recently upgraded to windows 7 x86, and it works great. The only problem I have is that my ati mobility radeon 3650 graphics card doesn't seem to want to work.
I've tried reinstalling the drivers several times using several different versions of the driver (win7beta, vista32, mobilitymodded, unmobilitymodded).
Whenever I try starting up with the card enabled, the screen goes blank. After reinstalling the driver, everything but the wallpaper goes away. Can anyone help?
I've been updating my graphics driver (Nvidia GeForce 9300M GS) and it's the correct version and after a while of the installation my screen turns black.
My Computer: Windows 7 Professional x32 Nvidia GeForce 9300M GS Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM)2 Duo CPU P7450 @ 2.13GHz 2.13GHz Ram: 3.00 GB
I have an Acer Aspire 7750G-6662. It has switchable graphics with Intel Graphics as well as AMD Radeon 6650M 2GB VRAM.I've already solved my first obstacle, which was how to set my laptop to only run the Radeon Graphics.
So I download an update for my ati radeon HD 4350 (AMD Catalyst) And it seemed to work fine before when i installed it but i turned in my computer this morning and ot seemed to work fine but after a few minutes my computer just went to a black screen. so i restarted my computer same results, so i booted in safe mode and decided to explore the problem. At first I attempted to uninstall and reinstall the update but when i tried to uninstall it failed and the message "failed to load detection driver" or "couldn't detect system specs" or something along those lines. So i tried to run a game and it wouldn't open. I think i may of somehow broke my graphics card?
I have read this topic : (all of 29 pages ! ) Acer Laptop: Switchable Graphics using i7 & AMD Radeon I have the same problem too But my laptop is dell - inspiron 5520 My system specification is :
CPU : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3612QM CPU @ 2.10GHz --- Ivy Bridge RAM : 8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 Graphics : AMD Radeon HD 7670M Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
[code]....
But the big problem is there is no Video Configuration in my bios and there is no updated bios software in dell site : Drivers and Downloads | Dell [United States]
So I play Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3, the desktop is stock from Dell with ATI Radeon HD 5670 1GB video card. It plays fine for 2 hrs or so then the screen would freeze for about 3 seconds and then the screen goes black for 10 to 15 second. Sometimes the game recovers sometimes the PC would crash.FYI I am a computer newbie. Below are my set up.
Which gpu has better graphics performance. I have the choice between those two (Geforce 630m or Radeon 7670m). I'm looking to buy a new laptop soon and that is the two I have choices from. I'd like to know which would be better. It would be for gaming some,Photoshop (graphics design and image editing), Skype, and so forth. They're both around the same price range, so I'd like to get the best for the money. They'll both be equipped with a Intel Core i5. The Geforce is priced a little higher than the Radeon, but not too much. As I said, they're around the same price. I've always liked Geforce, but I'd like an opinion.
guys i instaled the radeon hd 4800 series driver for my sapphire radeon HD 4870 xvapor 2gddr5 graphics card but for sum odd reason when it goes on my desktop it shutts down n restarts after 3 seconds... or less.. What could be wrong ?
i installed the rtm and for some reason i cannot install my graphics card "ati radeon xpress 200 series intergrated" on my computer i use the installer but it doesnt find it, it only has standard vga.
upgraded laptop from winxp pro to win7. need graphics driverof ati radeon 9000 graphics card msft supplied a win7 driver dated 2009 for card but unable hardware acceleration
I recently turned on my laptop for it to constantly arrive to a black screen just before I select the user login. I read some instructions on a different forum stating that I need to log in to the computer via the safe mode and un install my display driver which is Intel(R) HD Graphics, I did this which enabled me to get back onto my original login but at a price. My driver now says that it's VGA, My screen resolution has changed, every app I use crashes constantly as well as any videos/films I play they crash, skip every minute or so.Yet if I update the driver I end up back at square one, the black screen. My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5742 with Windows 7.I've also tried the windows recovery which crashes.
My Compaq laptop no longer has color graphics. When I go to a website it just shows black letters...I just bought a new battery from HP and can't figure out what is wrong..
suddenly the grey lines engulfed 2-3rd of the screen of my laptop.. I had replaced replaced window vista with window 7 .Now i dnt know how to cope up this problem.
I upgraded my os from windows vista 32 bit to windows 7 64 bit home premium a few days ago, and am having a horrendous time fixing the resolution problem. I can not seem to locate a driver from ati or toshiba themselves to support this upgrade, anything i do find does not install stating that the os is not supported. My resolution was much higher (do not recall the exact numbers) but now maxs at 1152x864.
here are my comp specs:

My mom's laptop keeps getting a black screen. I googled "black screen laptop" and I found out about the black screen of death, but it doesn't appear to be this as it completely freezes the computer. I have no idea what this could possible be so I'm hoping someone on here has an idea. The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite t135d-s1324 if it makes any difference.
I have a sony vaio laptop that runs with windows 7. Everytime i turn on the laptop, i see windows starting up, then i am prompted to enter my administrator password. after entering my password, the screen goes black and all i see is the white cursor. I tried removing the battery, then unpluging the wall power and holding the power button for 2 minutes and replacing the plug, turning on the computer and replacing the battery, but this is not working.
My laptop (Asus A52F) starting acting up about a week ago. It seems to be seizing and then black-screening if I have it do anything more than one small task. For example it often freezes up during scans, when I plug in a hard drive or if I try to download absolutely anything and then I have to force shut down by holding the power button.I've tried running a few different virus/malware scans (Super Anti Spyware, Ad-aware and Malware Bytes) and they found a couple little things but the compuet has still been acting up. I've tried keeping an eye on the task manager while trying anything that usually freezes the computer and I'm seeing any jumps in the CPU. I've attempted to do a system restore as well but there is no restore point to use.
I left my laptop on and had to leave so I simply shut the lid down. About 2 hours later, I lifted the lid and got only a black screen. I moved the mouse around to get it to come on but it would not. After about 5 tries on holding down the button in which to start up my laptop or turn off in this case, it finally turned off then I was able to turn it on and all was fine. I held it down for about 15 seconds. So, question is why wouldn't my laptop become active again when I opened the lid, etc?
Here are some of my specs.
